Teresa Darline Samuelson
Memorial services for Teresa Darline Samuelson, 35, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel.
The Rev. Stan Sanderson will officiate. Inurnment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.
Mrs. Samuelson died Sept. 3, 1998, at her residence after a short illness.
Born July 22, 1963, she resided in Fairfield for 24 years. She was a housewife for 15 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader for several years.
Mrs. Samuelson was a loving mother who enjoyed the ocean, outdoors, and loved to garden.
Mrs. Samuelson is survived by her husband, Steven of Fairfield; daughter, Jessica of Fairfield; mother, Nancy L. Cannon of Fairfield; and grandmother, Jean Gillespi of Grover City.

John Wesley Savage
Funeral services for John Wesley Savage, 68, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Freewill Baptist Church.
Pastor Sam Hensley will officiate. Interment will be in Rockville Cemetery.
Mr. Savage died Sept. 4, 1998, in David Grant Medical Center after a short illness.
Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Hitchins, Ky., he lived in Fairfield for 30 years. He served in the Navy for 23 years. Upon retiring, he worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for 20 years as a marine machinist. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Fairfield.
Mr. Savage enjoyed fishing, watching sports and reading his Bible.
Mr. Savage is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jeffrey Carr of Fairfield; daughter, Lori Woodie of Fairfield; son, Thomas Bryce of Fairfield; sisters, Virginia Knight and Wilma Staten, both of Pescott, Ariz.; Helen Wilburn of Grayson, Ky.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lela Mae Dana
Graveside services for Lela Mae Dana, 80, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Monday at Silveyville Cemetery
in Dixon. The Rev. William Hausler of Trinity Christian Church of Vacaville will preside.
Born March 9, 1918, in Oakland, Mrs. Dana died Sept. 5, 1998, in Dixon after a long illness. She was a Solano County resident for the past seven years and was a prior resident of Pleasant Grove for 60 years.
Mrs. Dana and her husband formerly owned and operated the Grade A Dairy Ranch in Dixon and Winters.
Mrs. Dana is survived by children, Robert of Dixon, Sharon Griffin of Lincoln, and Clarence Jr. of Pleasant Grove; sister, Delores Munger of Sacramento; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Sr.; brother, James Gleason; sisters, Evelyn and Vivian Gleason; and parents, James and May Gleason.

Pete Kraak
Memorial services for Pete Kraak, 65, of Dixon will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Church of Incarnation, 1701 Russell Blvd., Davis, with the Revs. Bill Wong and John Moren presiding.
Born Aug. 1, 1933, in Den Helder, the Netherlands, Mr. Kraak died Sept. 7, 1998, at his home in Dixon after a long illness.
He immigrated to Selkirk, Manitoba in 1954, then moved to Oakland in 1958, where he became a naturalized United States citizen.
After living in various cities in the Bay Area and operating the Steele Park Boat Marina on Lake Berryessa, Mr. Kraak moved to Dixon in 1973, where he worked as a self-employed general contractor for 25 years.
He enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting with family and friends.
Mr. Kraak is survived by his wife, Sharon of Dixon; sons, Larry of Winters, Vern of Fairfield, Jason of Dixon, and Pete of Davis; sisters and brothers, Jannie Van Beieren-Kraak of Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, Annie Von Zon-Kraak of Montfoort, the Netherlands, Simon of St. Maartensburg, the Netherlands, and Anneka Steilberg-Kraak of Alphen Ald Rhyne, the Netherlands; and grandchildren, Steven and Karen, both of Winters, and Michael and Branden, both of Vacaville.

Edith Straits
Funeral services for Edith Straits, 79, of Dixon will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dixon Methodist Church.
The Rev. Catharine Morris of Dixon Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be private at the Silveyville Cemetery.
Mrs. Straits died Sept. 4, 1998, in Woodland after a long illness.
Mrs. Straits was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Tyler, Texas. She lived in Dixon and Solano County for more than 56 years. She worked as a baker at the Nut Tree for 10 years and had her own catering service for years. She was a 50-year member and historian for the Rebekah Lodge of Dixon and a member of the Dixon Methodist Church.
Mrs. Straits enjoyed knitting, crocheting and arts and crafts of all kinds.
Mrs. Straits is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Ellsie of Gustine; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Allan McCormick of Temecula; and two grandchildren, Justin McCormick, stationed in Korea, and Tiffany McCormick of Temecula.

Robert James Sullivan
A Mass of the Resurrection for Robert James Sullivan, 82, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vacaville. The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will preside.
Burial will be at Silveyville Cemetery
in Dixon.
Born Sept. 5, 1916, in Springfield, Mass., Mr. Sullivan died Sept. 8, 1998, at his Vacaville home after a long illness.
He had been a railroad conductor, employed for 37 years with Southern Pacific Railroad prior to retiring.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a Vacaville resident for four years.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Dolores of Vacaville; daughters, Joan Sullivan-Hays and Barbara, both of Dixon; brother, John of Arletta; sister, Frances Thibodeau of Newington, Conn.; grandchildren, Carla Ganaway of Akon, S.C., and Cari Lizarraga of Dixon, Carl Hays of Dixon, Adrianne Mann of Rochester, N.Y., and Jeffrey Nichols of Victor, N.Y.; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, with a vigil at 7 p.m. today in the chapel.

Richard 'Dick' Beale
A memorial service for Richard "Dick" Beale, 57, of Vacaville will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Robert Grove will preside. Inurnment will be private.
Born June 16, 1941, in Marysville, Mr. Beale died Sept. 7, 1998, in Vacaville after a short illness. He lived in Vacaville for 54 years.
Mr. Beale worked for Hopkins Truss Co., and worked as a truck driver for 26 years. He owned and operated L&D Garage on Texas Street for 16 years.
For 31 years, he was a charter member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Vacaville Lodge 2638, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Fairfield Lodge 861, for 27 years.
He graduated from Armijo High School in 1960.
Mr. Beale is survived by his wife, Ann of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Earl Routh of Mount Vernon, Mo., and Cindy and Jeff Whitson of Shingle Springs; mother, Laverne of Minden, Nev.; brother, Tom of Minden; and grandchildren, Tyler and Leslie Whitson, both of Shingle Springs.
A Benevolent Protective Order of Elks memorial service will be conducted by past exalted rulers of the order at the Presbyterian Church following the memorial service by the church.

Jean Annie Patterson
Funeral services for Jean Annie Patterson, 71, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephens C.M.E. Church, 2301 Union Ave., Fairfield.
The Rev. Harry Redds Sr. will preside. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.
Born Jan. 26, 1927, in Marianna, Ark., Mrs. Patterson died Sept. 8, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness. She lived in Fairfield for six years.
Mrs. Patterson was educated in Arkansas public schools and attended Chicago State College for several years. She was a homemaker for 53 years.
She is a member of St. Stephens C.M.E. Church in Fairfield. Also, she loved interior decorating, reading and listening to classical music.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Gene and Dorthey Brown of Fairfield, Otis Brown of Dallas, and Frederick Raymond Brown of Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Freddie and King Bevill of Las Vegas, and Ernestine and Sylvester Boyd of Chicago; brother, Wilson D. Matthews of Chicago; grandchildren, LuJuna Brown and Otis Brown III of Memphis, Tenn., Eric Brown of Dallas, Rhonda Easterling of Fairfield and Marvin J. Brown of Alameda; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and cousin, Ophelia Barnes of Oakland.

Deborah Kay (Russell) von Kaenel
A memorial service for Deborah Kay (Russell) von Kaenel, 49, will be 3 p.m. Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Woodland.
Born May 1, 1949, in St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. von Kaenel died Sept. 6, 1998.
She had been a Yolo County resident for about 27 years. Following her mother's death, she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, the late Alma and Lawrence Russell of Vacaville.
She graduated from Vacaville High School in 1967 and from the University of California, Davis, with a degree in anthropology, in 1971. She had been a longtime Woodland resident and was a 25-year employee of the Yolo County Probation Department.
Mrs. von Kaenel began her career with Yolo County Probation Department on May 16, 1973, and held a variety of positions, including deputy probation officer I, II and III, and senior probation officer with assignments in juvenile intake; juvenile court investigations; child custody investigations; step-parent adoptions; juvenile and adult caseload supervision; juvenile placement; drug enforcement as a member of Yolo Narcotic Enforcement Team, Adult Division; vice-chairwoman of Yolo County School Attendance Review Board; Probation Training Committee; volunteer with the Yolo County Jail Literacy program; and adult placement.
She was known for her sense of humor, impeccable sense of style, zest for life and love of animals. She enjoyed traveling and visited several foreign countries in Europe, as well as Mexico and Canada. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Mrs. von Kaenel is survived by her husband, Larry of Woodland; twin sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Russell) and Bill Sanders of Germany; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Janet Dudek of Auburndale, Mass.; half sister, Therese Dudek of Chicago; half brother, Herbert Dudek of Southern California; nieces and nephew, Kristen Sanders of Germany, and Anne and Simon Dudek, both of Auburndale, Mass.; aunt, Ina Cronin of Everett, Wash.; parents-in-law, Earl and Marie "Mitzi" of Vacaville; and sisters-in-law, Susan of Napa and Diane Ekstrom of Squaw Valley.
Mrs. von Kaenel was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Jensen in 1963; and father, Herbert Dudek.

Catherine 'Kay' Kett
A Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine "Kay" Kett, 65, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Dan Madigan of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Sacramento will officiate. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kett died Sept. 10, 1998, in Dixon.
Born April 22, 1933, in Shanagolden County, Limerick, Ireland, she moved to Dixon in 1961. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Kett is survived by her husband of 40 years, Matt; son, Mike, and his fiancee, Celeste; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Andrea, and Matthew and Courtney, all of Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Kett-Tobin and Peter Tobin of Ireland; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.
Glen F. Brown
No formal services are planned for Glen F. Brown, 59, of Vacaville. A private burial will be held.
Mr. Brown died Sept. 10, 1998, in his Vacaville home of asbestos-related cancer.
Born on Aug. 17, 1939 in Westlake, La., he moved to the area 20 years ago.
He worked as an insulator at Mare Island and Long Beach ship yards for 31 years and served as a business agent for Local 70 asbestos workers.
He was also a country music singer, most recently in Napa, and an avid bowler.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Marry Ann of Vacaville; daughters, Cindy Parsons of Yuba City and Toni Brown of San Jose; son, Richard of Vacaville; mother, Selma of Louisiana; brothers, Don of Santa Ana and Curtis and Ron, both of Louisiana; sisters, Joyce McDonald and Barbara Jean of Yuba City; grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Parsons of Yuba City; and many loving friends.
Margaret B. Ceder
Private funeral services will be held for Margaret B. Ceder, 85, of Fairfield.
She will be buried next to her late husband in Oakwood Cemetery
in Rochester, Minn.
Mrs. Ceder died Sept. 14, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center after a short illness.
Born on Dec. 5, 1912, in Rochester, Minn., she moved to Fairfield four months ago after living in Sun City, Ariz., for 20 years.
An artist for 70 years, Mrs. Ceder is survived by her daughter, Barbara Weber of Huntington Beach; son, Elmer T. Ceder of Green Valley; brother, Richard Thorson of San Diego; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
