Sydney Gordon Collins
1930-2010
Sydney Gordon Collins, 79, of Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side.
Sydney was born in German Brook, NB on December 30, 1930 the son of the late Frank and Marie (Christie) Collins. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Modern Construction for 33 years, until his retirement.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, F. Lorene (Corney) Collins; daughter, Debbie O'Connor (Martin) of Eastern Passage, NS ; sons, Paul of Riverside-Albert and Mark (Jackie) of Curryville and his three grandchildren, Sara, Jason and Robert; sisters, Ethel Butland and Beulah Morrissey both of Riverside-Albert; brothers, LeRoy of Salisbury, Reginald (Marina) of Alma, Richard (Betty Ann) of Oshawa, ON, Gordon (Helen) of London, ON and Ronald of Vancouver, BC; Sisters-in-law, Florence Collins of Moncton and Patricia Collins of Riverview. He will also be missed by special niece, Elizabeth Collins of Riverside-Albert and special nephew, Gary Collins (Brenda) of Germantown and by many other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Lillian Mills; brothers, Everett, Weldon, Alger, Arnold and Donald; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Alice Collins and brothers-in-law, Winfield Mills Sr., Carl Butland and Fred Morrissey.
Honoring Syd's own wishes there will be no visitation. The Funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00pm with Pastor Danny Steeves officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, Albert County, NB.
In Lieu of flowers donations to the Bayview Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, 734-2780
Due to allergies please refrain from wearing perfumes or fragrances to the service.

Oris Stevens
1945-2010
Oris Noreen Stevens, 65, of Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Oris was born in Petitcodiac on April 21st, 1945, the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace (Prosser) Steeves. She attended the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church. Oris was very community minded having worked in various jobs throughout her community. She helped many organizations, such as the Albert County Hospital & Bennett Foundation, she was a volunteer at Forest Dale Home and was a new member of the Forest Dale Home Board. She served with the Ambulance Division for 32 years, having volunteered for more than 17 years with the St. John Ambulance and was an Officer of the Order of St. John Ambulance. She then worked more than 11 years with the Maritime EMS as Supervisor of the Riverside-Albert Division and worked 2 and a half years for Ambulance NB as a paramedic before retiring in April 2010. Oris was a great lady and she loved her Bluegrass music, she along with her husband Vic were even voted as Fan of the year with the Bluegrass Association. She enjoyed travelling and attending all the festivals. She was also an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed the outdoors having gone on many adventures with her friends. Above all things Oris was a beloved wife, mom and grandmother. Her family were her pride and joy and they meant everything to her. She had a great personality and left all her family and friends with many good memories to cherish. Everyone who met Oris would always comment on her great smile and laugh. She was a very special lady who will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
She will be deeply missed by her best friend and husband of 49 years, Victor Stevens of Riverside-Albert, her treasured sons, Joseph of Fort St. John, BC, Douglas (Marie) of Riverside-Albert, Wayne (Lynn) of Riverside-Albert and Lorry (Kelli) of Stoney Creek; her precious grandchildren, Brody, Ryan, Grace "Gracie" and Grayden; sisters, Anna-Joyce Murray of Prosser Brook, Melda Rossiter (Lester) of Riverview, Lynn Steeves of Edmonton, AB and brother, Peter Steeves of Turtle Creek; brother-in-law George and sister-in-law Gerry. She will also be sadly missed by all of her husband, Victor's family, her extended family, several nieces and nephews and by her many friends.
Beside her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Myra Steeves ; brother, Aldus Steeves and brother-in-law, Lewis Murray.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30th, 2010 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society, Riverside-Albert Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Doris Eileen Fenton
Doris Eileen Fenton Doris Eileen Fenton, 88, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital.
Doris was born in Albert Mines on October 14th, 1921 the daughter of the late Wilbur and Daisy (Allen) Smith. She was known for her great cooking ability and worked in several restaurants over the years. She also worked at the Noranda Mines in Moncton for a time. Above all things Doris was a mother and homemaker, her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, quilting, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and going to Bingo. Doris had a great sense of humour and a very quick wit she will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Wilfred Fenton (Helen) of Riverside-Albert, Jerry Fenton (Sandra) of Orilla, Ont., and Mike Fenton (Amy) of Albert Mines; daughters, Kathy Edson (Art) of Riverview and Marilyn Patterson (Bob) of Hopewell Cape; daughter-in-law, Susan Fenton of Albert Mines; her 18 treasured grandchildren and 21 cherished great grandchildren; 1 precious great great grandchild; sisters, Margret Pitcher (Lorne) of Cardston, Alberta and Evelyn Jonah of Riverview; brother, Max Smith (Susan) of Riverview and sister-in-law, Eileen Smith of Halifax. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles; daughter, Helen McDuff; sons, Roy and Vaughn; granddaughter, Janet; sister, Grace Weldon and brother, Wilfred.
Honoring Doris's own wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, January 21st, 2010 at 2:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing at a later date.
For those who wish donations to the Green Hill Cemetery or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Stephen Glenn Tingley
Stephen Glenn Tingley It is with the greatest of sorrow, that we the family of Glenn Tingley announce his death which occurred as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Glenn worked for CIMCO as an Industrial Refrigeration Technician. He had a great passion for his job and his second family there.
Glenn (Squeaker) had such a zest for life, loving to 4 wheel (often accompanied with biker chick Ginger), watch NASCAR, snowmobile, fish, play hockey, barbeque, and travel with his family.
He was well known for his dry wit and his sheepish grin. He was quite a character.
The greatest achievements, of whom he was very proud, are his daughters Kylie and Ashley and his marriage of 20 years to his wife and best friend Karen.
Glenn was born September 13, 1964. The son of Melvin (Muriel) and Patricia (Graves) Tingley.
He will be greatly missed by father-in-law Dexter Steeves, brothers Dale (Joyce), Mike (Jane) all of Hopewell Cape, and Bob (Norma) of Hillsborough.
He will also be missed by his good buddy Monty Morice.
He was the most patient, loving, compassionate, giving and special husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend you would ever want.
Uncle Glenn will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Erin (Craig) Jones, Jeffery (Ashley), Kent, Lauren, Shelby and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers a Education Fund has been set up for the girls, or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Albert County Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Lower Cape Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape.

Elaine M. Houlahan-Beck (Germain)
1923-2011
ELAINE M. HOULAHAN-BECK (GERMAIN) At the age of 88, on Monday, October 24, 2011, at Moncton City Hospital, Elaine passed away.
Elaine was born on January 10, 1923. She was raised on her parents farm in Massey Ontario. Elaine’s caring nature led her to become an RNA at the St Joseph’s Hospital in North Bay Ontario. Elaine enjoyed being a member of the Friendship Senior Citizens and was an active member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Elaine loved her country home in Beaverbrook NB; she especially loved family visits and entertaining friends.
She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her Husband Ervin Beck, children, Kevin Houlahan and Richard Houlahan (Anne) of Winnipeg MB; sister Joan Carr (Wendell) of Guelph ON; grandchildren, Douglas, Sean, Michael and Kayla. Brothers in-law Stancey, Cecil and Raymond Beck, sisters in-law Solie Barbour, Teresa Mercer and Treva Muise as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Elaine was pre-deceased by Douglas Lees and James Houlahan; her parents Frank and Rose Germain; brother William Germain; sons Jim Lees, Douglas Houlahan and Raymond Houlahan.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday evening from 7-9pm, there will be Parish Prayers and a time of sharing memories at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at 10:00am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Bernard Sloan officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and refreshments at the Riverside- Albert Recreation Center.
Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Holy Ghost Cemetery.
Our Family offers a heartfelt thank you to Beatrice MacDonald and Emily Morrison for their kind and compassionate care.
In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. God saw you getting tired, and knew you had to leave. So he put his arms around you, And whispered Come with Me.

Phyllis F. Oxley
1930-2011
Phyllis Oxley, 81, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2011 in her own home with her special girls by her side.
Phyllis was born in Halifax, NS on April 9th, 1930 the daughter of Dr. Philip Oxley and Christine (Campbell) Oxley. Phyllis worked as a Medical Technologist until her retirement. She attended the Holy Ghost Catholic Church when she was able. Phyllis never had any children of her own but was very close to her, as she would call her, adopted daughter- Barb Alcorn. She also was blessed with a childhood friend who kept close contact with her, Phyllis Graham. Phyllis also had a constant companion, her cat- Sally, who meant the world to her. Over the past few years, Phyllis needed homecare and Barb hand picked the people she knew would get along with Phyllis, they were like angles sent to care for her, Sandra Beers, Emily Beers, Natasha Butland and Kathryn Mann, you were truly appreciated. Phyllis may not have had any children but she was so blessed with the people God brought into her life, and she loved them all very much. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Judge Judy faithfully while eating her favorite, cheeseburgers. Phyllis was a very special lady and she will be dearly missed.
Her main goal was to be able to stay in her family home until her passing this was made possible by the people in her life, special thanks to the Extra Mural Nurses who came and gave such great care and to Dr. Winston Dykeman who gave so unselfishly of his time. Phyllis is now at peace.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 21st, 2011 at 11:00am at the Albert County Funeral Home with Father Michael Toner officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
Donations to the SPCA or to the Holy Ghost Cemetery would be greatly appreciated.

Mayme Evelyn Smith
1935-2011
Mayme Evelyn Smith, 76, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2011 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Mayme was born in Alma on September 5th, 1935, the daughter of the late Howard and Mable (Jensen) Butland. Mayme was a hard worker having worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime, working at Eatons, Fundy National Park in the Club House, at the Moncton Coliseum and at the Greenhills Lodge. She was a member of the St. Stephen's United Church in Alma. She loved her garden and cooking, she always had a surplus of pickles and jams in her cupboard for anyone that wanted them. She also enjoyed times she spent with her many friends bowling and playing darts. Mayme enjoyed music and playing her guitar around the kitchen table with all her family and friends. She loved to sing, even up till her last days she was humming in the halls of Forest Dale. She had a love of animals and especially her cats. Mayme had a big heart and will be remembered for her kind and caring ways. She will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
She will be deeply missed by her four daughters, Brenda Cooper (Stan Oakley) of Moncton, Nancy Weston- Kendrick (Danny) of Weldon, Sheila Haley (Vincent) of Nixon Settlement and Vickie Carter (Pierre Aube) of Moncton; son, Brian Weston (Shirley Cole) of Hillside and by her special grandson, John Weston (Rebecca Kaine) of Moncton, who Mayme and Charlie lovingly raised; and by her precious grandchildren; step-children, Vonnie Mann of Moncton, Pamela Nelson of Fredericton, Heather Berry (Scott Rawline) of Lower Coverdale, Danny Smith (Kim) of Lower Coverdale and Kathy McCabe (Brad) of Little River; sister, Frances McKinley of Riverview; brothers, Henry Butland (Jean) of Waterside, Floyd Butland (Barbara) of BC, Earl Butland (Lois) of Riverside-Albert, Claude Butland (Linda) of Alma and Clark Butland (Brenda) of Alma; sisters-in-law, Ethel Butland of Riverside- Albert and Edna Butland of Riverside-Albert. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her 1st husband and the father of her five children, Victor Weston; 2nd husband, Charles Smith; son-in-law, Bill Carter; infant grandchildren, Paul, Christine and Kelly; brothers, Carl, Douglas, Edmund.
She will be resting at the St. Stephen's United Church on Tuesday from 12:00pm until time of service at 2pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the St. Stephen's United Church on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011 at 2:00pm with Rev. Carol Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma, NB
Flowers would be appreciated or donations to the St. Stephen's United Church or Forest Dale Home.
