William R. Schmidt
Aug. 27, 1949 - Oct. 29, 1999

William R. Schmidt of Boulder died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, in Boulder. He was 50.

He was born Aug. 27, 1949, in Orange, N.J., to William Schmidt and Florence Ann Jacko Schmidt. He married Cathy Agner on Feb. 14, 1997, in Boulder.

Mr. Schmidt moved to Boulder in 1975 from Whippany, N.J.

He worked in warehousing and receiving, most recently at Target stores. He previously managed a Saveway service station for 10 years in Boulder.

He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and a member of the Longmont Elks Lodge. He coached a Little League team and played on a softball team.

Mr. Schmidt enjoyed fishing, hiking and participatory sports.

Survivors include his wife of Boulder; his mother, of Whippany; a daughter, Samantha Schmidt of Spring, Texas; a stepson, Thomas Matchett of Thornton; a stepdaughter, Christina Behm, of Englewood; three brothers, Drew Schmidt of Whippany, Jim Schmidt of Bixby, Okla., and Mark Schmidt of Flanders, N.J.; and a sister, Gail Schmidt of Honolulu.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.

Contributions may be sent to the Addictions Recovery Center, 3470 Broadway, Boulder CO 80304.

Casey James Tarr
Dec. 19, 1974 - Nov. 2, 1999
Casey James Tarr of Fort Collins, formerly of Lafayette, died in an automobile accident on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. He was 24.

He was born Dec. 19, 1974, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Jimmy Tarr and Joy Ann Michalek Tarr.

Mr. Tarr graduated from Centaurus High School in 1993, and from Colorado State University in 1998, with a degree in liberal arts. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He moved to Lafayette from Scottsbluff as a young child and moved away when he went to college in 1993.

Survivors include his mother of Boulder; his father of The Dalles, Ore.; his maternal grandmother, Pat Michalek of Scottsbluff; and his paternal grandmother, Vivian Tarr of Scottsbluff.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard D. Michalek in 1983 and Lester Tarr in 1964.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Darrell Howe Mortuary, 10203 South Boulder Road, Lafayette.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Darrell Howe Mortuary.

Contributions may be made to the donor's choice.

Daryl Dean White
July 18, 1923 - Nov. 1, 1999
Daryl Dean White of Lakewood, formerly of Boulder, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Lutheran Medical Center in Lakewood. He was 76.

He was born July 18, 1923, in North Loup, Neb., to James Paul White and Gladys Hurley White. He married Barbara Jean Davis on Feb. 26, 1944, in Boulder.

He worked for Gates Rubber Co. in Denver as a computer programmer and as a systems analyst for the city and county of Denver, retiring in 1986.

Mr. White was a member of the Boulder Seventh-day Baptist Church, where he became a deacon of the church. Mr. White lived in Boulder from 1940 to 1959, when he moved to Lakewood. During his final years, he was active in evangelism training as a member and deacon of the Colorado Springs Seventh-day Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, travel, gardening and "rock hounding."

Survivors include his wife of Lakewood; a son, Robert White of Brighton; a daughter, Patricia Davis of Williamsburg, Iowa; two sisters, Dorothy Clynke of Golden and Donzella Wheeler of Wyoming, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen White and Derwin White.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Olinger Wadsworth Chapel, 7495 W. 29th Ave., Denver.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Denver Seventh-day Baptist Church, 2301 Wadsworth Blvd., with interment following at Fort Logan Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.

Contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Colorado Springs Seventh-day Baptist Church, 2404 N. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909.

Olinger Mortuary of Denver was in charge of arrangements.

Ben R. Blair
Dec. 22, 1919 - Nov. 3, 1999
Ben R. Blair of Boulder died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Boulder. He was 79.

He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Edna, Texas, to Eric Lee Blair and Altha McBride Blair. He married Doris Ferguson in 1942, in Corsicana, Texas.

Mr. Blair was a colonel in the Air Force for 30 years, retiring in 1969. He was a fighter pilot and veteran of World War II.

He moved to Boulder in 1996 from Trinity, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of Boulder; two sons, Ben R. Blair Jr. of Dallas, and Randy Blair of Boulder; a daughter, Jan Multer of Niwot; a sister, Rowena McPherson of Trinity; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

Crist Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Lynette Gneiser Carson
Jan. 15, 1959 - Nov. 2, 1999
Lynette Gneiser Carson of Boulder died of cancer Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Greeley Hospital. She was 40.

She was born Jan. 15, 1959, in Boulder to Norman Gneiser and Luetta Schlue Gneiser. She was divorced from Bruce Carson.

Ms. Carson worked as a travel agent in California, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

She enjoyed traveling and writing poetry.

She graduated from Boulder High School and attended Parks Business College in Thornton.

She lived in Boulder County until 1978 and from 1993 until her death.

Survivors include her mother of Boulder; a brother, Larry Gneiser of Hillrose; two sisters, Susanne Albert of Philadelphia, and Cindy Slade of Arvada.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Joliffe Mortuary, 225 Platte St. in Fort Morgan. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1590 Broadway, Boulder, Colo. 80302.

Connie Frantz
Sept. 24, 1944 - Nov. 2, 1999
Connie Frantz of Windsor, formerly of Boulder, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, of natural causes in Northern Colorado Medical Center. She was 55.

She was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Denver to Frank Patton and Rosemary Heaper Patton. She married Frank Frantz on June 24, 1971, in Boulder. She lived in Boulder from 1970 to 1982.

Survivors include her husband of Windsor; three sons, Paul Frantz of Fort Collins, Joseph Frantz of Windsor, and Peter Frantz of Greeley; and three brothers, Richard Patton of Wichita, Kan., Bill Patton of Dallas, Texas, and Timothy Patton of Littleton.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor with the Rev. Dave Duell of Harvest Community Church officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery following the church services.

Adamson Memorial Chapels of Windsor was in charge of arrangements.

George Frederick Smysor
June 13, 1922 - Oct. 29, 1999

George Frederick Smysor of Stuart, Fla., formerly of Boulder, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at his home. He was 77.

He was born June 13, 1922, in Fulton County, Ill., to Edwin C. Smysor and Edna Pearl Hall Smysor. He married Wilma Ruth Florea on March 27, 1943, in Palmyra, Mo.

Mr. Smysor lived in Boulder for 28 years. He lived in Fort Myers for 26 years before moving to Stuart in 1998.

He was an instrument technician at Rocky Flats in Boulder. He also worked as a farmer, an auto mechanic foreman, a carpenter, a clock maker and a barber. He had a private pilot's license.

Mr. Smysor was a member of Boulder Masonic Lodge, No. 45 A.F. & A.M., and the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of Stuart; a daughter, Judy Kay Norris of Sound, Fla.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dorance Orville Smysor Sr. in 1998.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Matthew Thomas Stelmach
Aug. 11, 1974 - Nov. 2, 1999
Matthew Thomas Stelmach of Longmont died in an automobile accident in Fort Collins on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. He was 25.

He was born Aug. 11, 1974, in Denver to Thomas Stelmach and Shirley Gish Stelmach.

Mr. Thomas was a general manager for Black Jack Pizza in Fort Collins. He also did contract work for FOX and CBS sports.

He was a 1993 graduate of Centaurus High School and attended Colby Community College for two years before transferring to the University of Northern Colorado. He moved to Louisville and then to Longmont in 1997. He enjoyed motocross, car racing, baseball, snowboarding, fly-fishing and music.

Survivors include his parents of Longmont; a brother, Tim Stelmach of Fort Collins; a grandmother Margaret Stelmach of Arvada; and his companion, Crisny Suarez of Fort Collins.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Darrell Howe Chapel, 10203 South Boulder Road, Lafayette.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road, Boulder.

Dorothy Wasserboehr Price
Oct. 8, 1926 - Oct. 27, 1999

Dorothy Wasserboehr Price of Boulder died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Terrace Heights in Boulder. She was 73.

She was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Saugus, Mass., to Harvey P. Price and Nan Wasserboehr Price.

Mrs. Price was a homemaker.

A long-time resident of Terrace Heights, she moved to Boulder in 1977.

She enjoyed music.

Survivors include two sons, John Price of Henderson, Nev., and Wesley Price of Guam.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 12, at First Congregational Chapel, 1128 Pine St., Boulder, with the Rev. Dave Randall-Bodman of the church officiating. Interment will be in Saugus, Mass., at a later date.

Crist Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
