HODGES, Mary Ruth, 80, of Tampa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 27, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge John G. Hodges, Sr. She is survived by her children; sons, John G. Hodges, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl and Robert C. Hodges; a daughter, Jane H. Leverone and her husband, Tom (Lumpy), all of Tampa; a brother, Julian Betts and his wife, Beth of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Olsen of St. Petersburg; and grandchildren, Harrison Grady Hodges, Tracy Parlin Hodges, Courtney Collier Hodges, Elizabeth Parlin Leverone, Robert Grady Leverone and Thomas Lee Leverone, Jr. Mrs. Hodges was born in Perry, Florida and had been a resident of Tampa most of her life. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. Other memberships include Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club, The Chiselers, and the Amaryllis Garden Club. She was a volunteer (Pink Lady) at Tampa General Hospital for 19 years. Mrs. Hodges was an avid golfer and bridge player. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2002 at St. John's Episcopal Church. The R.T. Rev. Calvin O. Schofield, Jr. will officiate. MALTZAHN, William, age 81, of Plant City, Florida passed away on September 26, 2002. Mr. Maltzahn was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, an Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and several Service Medals. He is predeceased by his loving son, Robert G. Andrew was a West Tampa native; a graduate of the University of Tampa; a founding member of the Mensa Society; a director of many fine theatrical productions; a generous supporter of the Spanish Lyric Theater; a charter member of the Tampa Arts Council; a founding member of the Tampa Historical Society; a member of the Centro Espanol de Tampa; and a premier floral designer. He is survived by his devoted fiancee, Cheryl Weslager of West Bend.
