Lillian M. Albaugh, 92, of 455 31st St, Marion, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 11 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Monday.
Survivors include three daughters Martha and Janice Albaugh of Marion, and Mary Dorenbecker and husband Richard of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and a grandson Brent Dorenbecker of Dallas, Texas. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Joyce Elaine Albaugh, and two sisters Louise Kellams, and Margaret Struck.
Lillian was born May 11, 1910 in Oxford Junction, Iowa to Henry and Margaret Fritz Zak. She married Max Albaugh on November 21, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He died October 26, 2000. Lillian had worked as a clerk at the Boston Store and as a waitress at several Marion restaurants. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge No 35.

Edward W. Kemme Jr.

Edward W. Kemme Jr., 86, of 1015 F Ave NW, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Mercy medical Center following a brief illness. Services at 3 PM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Pastor Jay Jentink of Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Wednesday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Kathryn, a son Terry and daughter-in-law Bonnie Dodge, one sister, Shirley (J.B.) Richter, one nephew, Robert (Angie) Richter of Rochester, Mn, numerous cousins, and his faithful dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Born February 5, 1917, to Edward W. Kemme, Sr. and Margaret Seltrecht, Edward lived his whole life in the Cedar Rapids area. He married Kathryn Oliver on August 23, 1940, in Marion.
Following his graduation from high school, Edward owned and operated a Sinclair service station in Cedar Rapids. In 1943 he entered the U.S. Army and served as a member of the 718th Railway Battalion in Northern France, the Ardennes, and Central Europe. Upon his discharge in 1946, he worked for 31 years as a toolmaker for the FMC-Linkbelt Corporation retiring in 1985.
A member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1953, Edward served periodically on the board of trustees. He held a life-long interest in amateur radio and electronics, using his skills to equip and maintain the audio system at Calvary.
Edward was know for his easy-going manner, playful sense of humor, and good-heartedness. He was always willing to help others when called upon and will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.

Arthur E. Hupfer, 85, of 2414 D Ave NE, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in his home following a short illness. Private services will be held. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter Lisa Hupfer Hurn and husband Tom of Cedar Rapids, two sons Michael of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Dan of Cedar Rapids. 6 grandchildren, Matthew Hurn and wife Anastasia, Andrea Woodley and husband Brian, Lissa Weldon and husband Scott, Justin Hupfer and wife Amy, Jeff Hupfer, and Lucas Hurn, and three great-grandchildren Madelyn, Elizabeth, and Lute, also survived by a sister-in-law Lois Wilson, and two nephews Todd and Tim Wilson all of Elmhurst, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and a daughter Ellen Hurn.
Arthur was born September 5, 1917 in Clinton, Iowa to Arthur Emil and Edith Dillon Hupfer. He attended school in Clinton. He married Mary Jane Downs on July 29, 1942 in Clinton. She died March 8, 1991. He served in the US Army during WW II in Africa and Italy with the 85th infantry division as a T/Sgt and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in Italy. He was employed as District Sales Manager for McKesson Drug Company for 23 years retiring in 1983. His memberships included Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge, VFW Post No 788, and Hanford American Legion Post No 5.
Arthur was a kind and gentle man. His love and care for his family was his life. He will be greatly missed by all of those he touched.

Wilma 'Billee' Lorraine Douglass Carlson, 83, of Regency South, 100 Thompson Dr. SE, died March 2, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital following emergency surgery. Services at 10 AM Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Burkhart and Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Private burial will follow in Garden of the Cross, in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at the church after 9:30 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Milton, a daughter, Cynthia Good and husband James of Gig Harbor, WA., two sons Douglas of Seneca, SC., and Richard and wife Jennie of Edina, MN., four granddaughters Kate Sikes and husband Chris of Williamsburg, VA., Elizabeth Cobian and husband Craig of Washington, NJ., Amanda Good of Seattle, WA., and Stephanie Carlson of Edina, MN., and twin great-granddaughters, Isabel and Olivia Cobian, and a sister Mildred Bruns and husband Carl of Spencer, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Donald Douglass.
Wilma 'Billee' was born November 6, 1919 in Hampton, IA., the daughter of William F. and Cora Crouch Douglass.
She graduated from Hampton High School with honors. She attended Iowa State University for two years and graduated with a B. S. Degree from the State University of Iowa in June 1941 and accepted a teaching position with the high school in Muscatine, IA. Billee married Milton E. Carlson in Muscatine on March 14, 1943. She moved to Chicago while her husband attended the U. S. Army Signal Corp program and returned to Muscatine in 1944.
She was a member of AAUW, serving as secretary. She sang in the Wesley United Methodist Choir and served on the board of trustees.
The family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1949 where she became active in the community serving as a past president of Cedar Rapids College Club, Washington High School PTA, Chapter JT of PEO and United Methodist Church Women. As a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church she served on the Board of Trustees, Worship and Pastoral Relations Committees and was a 50 year member of the Family Fellowship class. She was a life member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. She gave over 5000 hours of volunteer service to the hospital.
After her youngest child had completed grade school she did substitute teaching for a number of years in all the Cedar Rapids Community High Schools. She was a member of Elmcrest Country Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or to St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary Foundation.

Robert J. Fauchier

Robert J. Fauchier, 80, 1300 36th St. S.E., died peacefully Monday at Mercy Medical Center after a 3 year - long battle with lung cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Saint's Catholic Church by Rev. David O'Conner officiating. Burial: Mt. Calvary cemetery . Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 pm. on Wednesday, where a parish vigil service will be given at 6 p.m.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jean Koob Lynch Fauchier, son Stephen and wife Jean of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter in law, Jenni Carter Fauchier of Omaha, Nebraska, step children: Dennis and Becki Lynch of Cedar Rapids, Kevin and Marie Lynch of Mt. Vernon, Monica and Rick Harper of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Lottie Fauchier, his first wife, Mercedes Herring Fauchier, his brother, Jess Fauchier and his first son Richard Fauchier.
He was born on August 15, 1922 in Cedar Rapids and was married to Jean Koob Lynch on May 10, 1969 in Cedar Rapids. Robert helped his parents operate the Fauchier Family Grocery on Center Point Road N.E. He then worked for the Overhead Door Company for 27 years before retiring. He also helped pick apples at Koob's Orchard with his mother in law, Clara. He also did volunteer work for local charities.
Robert was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing, dancing, taking care of his home and yard, feeding and watching birds year around. He loved and was loved by his extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Rayman Andrew Neilsen

Rayman Andrew Neilsen, 83, of Urbana, formerly of Waubeek, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, in the McAllen Texas Medical Center following a heart attack. Services at 3 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Marty Schuhmacher of the Living Water United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3:30 PM to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Heister and husband Morgan, and Delores Neilsen all of Waubeek, a son Jim Neilsen of Minneapolis, three brothers Robert of Eugene, Oregon, Ronnie of Center Point, and Harold of Marion, a sister Marie Brown of Anamosa, four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers Marvin and Dick.
Rayman was born the son of Andrew and Eldeva Stone Neilsen on August 25, 1919, in Marion, Iowa. He married Margaret Gage on April 7th, 1941 in Cedar Rapids. She died July 20, 1998. He was a construction worker most of his life. He loved to fish and travel to new places and to make new friends and visit with old friends as well. His winter home was in Texas. He was a wonderful, loving father and husband and will me greatly missed by all those lives he touched.
A memorial fund has been established.

Lydia M. Glick, 82, of 1457 40th Street NE, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital from injuries received in a fall. Services at 10 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Rosemary Rohde of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband C. Dale, a daughter Barbara Ann Underwood and husband Mark , and a son Robert Dean Glick and wife Chris all of Cedar Rapids, a sister Pearl Barnhart of Oxford Junction, Iowa, and five grandchildren, Jay and Justin Andersen of Cedar Rapids, Amy Holt of Kennewick, Washington, Robert Glick of Evansdale, and Bradley Glick of Marion, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and a granddaughter.
Lydia was born February 21, 1921 in Center Township, Cedar County, Iowa to Lewis A. and Margaret Ida Caudill Wright. She married C. Dale Glick on January 26, 1943 in Olin, Iowa. She graduated from Olin Consolidated High School in June 1939. She then attended Cedar Rapids Business College and graduated on January 23, 1942. She worked in the payroll department at Link Belt Speeder during WW II. She was a devoted wife and mother but also worked in the accounting department at the Roosevelt Hotel until her husband retired. She was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, a past grand officer of Cedar Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Amber Grotto.
Lydia was an excellent cook, loving homemaker and friend of everyone especially in her church and in the Order of Eastern Star. She loved to travel with her husband in their motor home throughout much of North America seeing the people and sights of the area.
