Ronald Black, 85, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at KSB Medical Center, Dixon.

Shawn Gannon
Shawn L. Gannon, 45, of Sherrard, died March 23, 2004, at home.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Memorials may be made to New Kingdom Trailriders or HARPS (Hooved Animal Rescue & Protection Society).
Shawn was born Nov. 1, 1958, in Rock Island, to Mark and Frederica (Brown) Gannon.
Shawn was a laborer belonging to the Laborers Local 309, Rock Island. Shawn was involved in Civil War re-enactments and was a black-powder gun enthusiast. He was a member of the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association. He owned several mules and enjoyed riding them in local parades and on trailrides.
Survivors (and spouses) are mother, Frederica Peterson, Gainesville, Fla.; brother, Kerry (JoAnn) Gannon, Orion; sister, Ann (Eric) Beshore, Melrose, Fla.; brother-in-law, Dave (Sue) DeDecker, Orion; and six nieces, Jodi DeDecker, Marissa, Ill., Robin DeDecker, Moline, Denise Purcell, Milan, Erica Johnson, Gainesville, Brook Bloomberg, Gainesville, Heather Gannon, Orion; and a nephew, Mark Gannon, Orion. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sandy DeDecker.
Dulcy Santana
Dulcy Santana, 73, of Fulton, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa.
Services are 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bosma-Renkes, Fulton. Burial is in Elm Lawn cemetery , Elmhurst, Ill. Visitation is 6 p.m. to service time. A memorial fund has been established.
She was born April 29, 1930, in Chicago, to Joseph and Cora (Drake) Potter. She married
Russell Simpkins Jr. Dec. 10, 1970. She married
Jose Santana March 4, 1979. He died Nov. 16, 2002.
There are no survivors, but many friends to remember many good things about Dulcy.
Daniel Dickerson
Daniel M. Dickerson, 74, of Moline, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline, with the Rev. Tom Otis officiating. Burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island, where Moline American Legion Honor Guard will present military honors. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or the Heart Association.
Daniel Malcolm Dickerson was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of Bailey and Emily (Fisher) Dickerson. He graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, and attended the University of Illinois before entering the Army and serving in Korea. He married
Laura Clark April 18, 1954, in New Castle, Ind., and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next month.
He was a materials engineer for John Deere Harvester Works for 35 years, retiring in 1984, and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline, and the National VFW.
Music was a big part of his life. He played clarinet in the Windjammers Band, and he also enjoyed model trains and photography. He was a wonderful husband, a devoted father and a loving grandfather.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Daniel Dickerson Jr. and Michael Dickerson, both of Moline; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Tepaske, Charles City, Iowa; two grandsons, Alexander and John Tepaske; a brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Virginia Dickerson, Satellite Beach, Fla.; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bailey Dickerson Jr.
Betty Morris
Betty Gail Morris, 77, of Moline, died March 23, 2004, in McAllen, Texas.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park.
Betty was born July 8, 1926, in Manington, W.Va., to William Clyde and Mary Ellen Hickman Watson. She married
Robert Morris Jan. 10, 1948, in Moline.
Betty was a member of First Lutheran Church, Moline. She enjoyed fishing and loved gardening. She did extensive traveling and camping all over the United States and through Canada. She loved spending time with her grandkids.

Alex Hendrickx
Alex Michael Hendrickx, infant son of Michael and Mellissa White Hendrickx of East Moline, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at birth at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents; and grandparents, Lester and Christyne White and Dan and Irene Hendrickx, all of Rock Island.
Yvonne Sanders
Yvonne J. Sanders, 68, of East Moline, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, after a brief battle with cancer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, or the American Cancer Society.
The former Yvonne Hollingsworth was born June 4, 1935, in New London, Iowa, daughter of Wayne and Bernita Parks Hollingsworth. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1953. Yvonne married
Lloyd E. Sanders Nov. 2, 1962, in Moline.
Mrs. Sanders worked for Deere & Co. for 21 years in administration and management training. She retired in 1995. In prior years, she worked as a secretary for the former Hydraxtor Co. in Moline.
Yvonne was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. She loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; children and their spouses, Rick and Linda Sanders, Miami, Fla., Cindy Gaither, Stoughton, Wis., Randy and Jacinda Sanders, Colona, Lori and Todd Kent, Carol Stream, Ill.; grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Colbi, Benjamin, Gennifer, Jade, Zachary and Thomas; sisters and a brother-in-law, Loretta and John Compagno, Port Charlotte, Fla., and Judy Flaherty, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, James 'Flip' Flaherty.
Bonnie Sheldon
Bonnie Jean Sheldon, 66, of Silvis, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, after an extended illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline. Burial will be in Erie cemetery . Visitation will 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Bonnie was born May 14, 1937, to Wade and Jane Partain Sheldon, in her grandparents' log house in Hardin County, Ill.
Bonnie was raised mainly in Southern Illinois, where she married
Clarence Sheldon March 28, 1955. She bore and raised three children, Mary Sheldon, Clarence (Kim) Sheldon and Wendell Sheldon.
Her life revolved around her family and friends, who always became family, too. She loved to cook big meals for everyone who came to visit. She also loved to decorate the house and yard for Christmas, read and go to church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; daughter, Mary; sons, Clarence and Wendell; granddaughter, Neme; sister, Louise Albright; seven nieces; seven nephews; many great-nieces and -nephews; all the children she adopted in her heart; and very close friends, Ernie Murphy and Jane Clevenger.
Willy Armentrout
Willy Armentrout, 49, of Keithsburg, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at his home.
Memorial services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church of Keithsburg. His body was cremated. Interment of ashes is in Greenmound cemetery , Keithsburg. Visitation is noon to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Keithsburg Volunteer Ambulance or Children's Education Fund. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 21, 1955, in Baker, W.Va., son of David and Jerlene Parker Armentrout.
He was a laborer for Local 309, Rock Island, and a member of Local 309. He loved NASCAR racing and fishing.
Survivors include his life companion, Terri Marshall, Keithsburg; daughters, Mindi Armentrout, Florida, Ginger Nash and Cheyenne Armentrout, Keithsburg; son, Chad Armentrout, Florida; stepchildren, Dody Kelly, Aledo, Jason Bennett, Michael, James and John Marshall; three grandchildren; sisters, Linda Hanson, Baker, and Beverly Foster, Smithsburg, Md.; brothers, John Hawse, Harrisonburg, Va., and David Armentrout, New Boston; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Ellen, George, John, Ruth Anne, Fran, Leota and Roger Showalter, Galesburg area. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rodney Hudgins
Rodney D. Hudgins, 47, of Geneseo, died unexpectedly Friday, March 26, 2004, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. The Rev. Joe Kobernant will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be left to the Rodney Hudgins Memorial Fund.
Rodney was born Dec. 8, 1956, in Geneseo, son of Gene and Patsy Stage Hudgins. He was a 1977 graduate of Hoover High School in California. He was employed by Weber's Bakery in Burbank, Calif., for several years and also was a bartender at the Blue Room in Burbank. He enjoyed his two vintage cars and collecting steins. He was a good son and well liked by everyone.
Survivors include his mother, Patsy Hudgins, Geneseo; his father, Gene Hudgins, Burbank; a brother and spouse, Danny and Millicent Hudgins, Galesburg; a sister, Carrie McCormack, Santa Clarita, Calif.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Virgil `Buck' Hill
Virgil 'Buck' Hill, 80, of Davenport, died March 26, 2004, at home.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may go to Genesis VNA/Hospice.
Buck was born Dec. 1, 1923, in Davenport. He married
Darlene Lane Oct. 6, 1951.

He was born in Kewanee. He married
Kathleen Finkenhoefer in 1958. She died in 1999.

Dorothy Olson
Dorothy D. Olson, 83, of Davenport, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport. There is no visitation.
Private burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery . Cunnick-Collins, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may go to American Cancer Society.
Dorothy Dee (Helen) Doland was born Sept. 2, 1920, to George and Helen Canter Doland in Chicago. She married
Ronald O.J. Olson in 1945 in Chicago. Ronald preceded her in death. Glen Settum became her longtime companion and also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters: Holly Walker, Minneapolis, Minn., Hilary Olson-Nelson, Los Angeles, Calif.; and grandchildren, Lynn, Mark and Zachary.
Clifford Hehmeyer
Clifford F. Hehmeyer, 86, of Rock Island, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in the Western Township cemetery , Orion. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Shelter, Milan.
Clifford was born the son of Herman G. and Edna Meyer Hehmeyer April 18, 1917, in Quincy, Ill. Clifford married
Helen Tennant in June of 1958 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death Dec. 6, 1997. Mr. Hehmeyer later married
Nadine Harper in September of 1999 in Rock Island.
Clifford was a World War II Army veteran. He worked as a Tool and Dye Maker on Arsenal Island, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Hehmeyer was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rock Island, and the Rock Island Noon Kiwanis Club. His enjoyments included woodworking, animals, gardening, traveling, photography and working in his yard. He was also very active in the restoration of the Col. Davenport House. Mr. Hehmeyer was a very caring man who loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine; stepsons and spouses, Douglas and Lori Bebber, Rock Island, Steve and Darcy Bebber, Sarasota, Fla., and Dale Bebber, Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren; sisters, Betty Schutte, Quincy, and Helen Bailey, Ottumwa, Iowa; along with several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Mr. Hehmeyer was preceded in death by his parents; stepbrother, Charles Hehmeyer; and an infant sister.
Rosalie Stambaugh
Rosalie Stambaugh, 47, of the Spencer Towers, Rock Island, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at her residence.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Carbon Cliff cemetery . Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.
Rosalie was born Sept. 30, 1956, in Rock Island to Norris Eugene and Shirley Ann Stambaugh. She lived her entire life in the Rock Island area.
She is survived by her father and mother; son, Terry J. Stambaugh, Moline; one brother; three sisters; a special friend, Juanita Curtner, Moline; and Terry's father, Tab Granado, Moline.
