CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Nicholas Schrup, 51, of 200 31st St. NE, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Charles City, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley Hayck officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, where there will be a rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a vigil scripture wake service at 7 p.m. Friends also may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Surviving are his former wife, Joni, of Cedar Rapids; two children, Sam Schrup and Caitlin Schrup, both of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Susan (John) Reid, of Camdenton, Mo., and Kathy McAuley, of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

POTOSI, Wis. - Joseph D. Clark, 91, of Potosi, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Heartland Health Care Center, Platteville.
Private family graveside services and burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery , Potosi, where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Martin Page Funeral Home, Potosi.
Mr. Clark worked at the Potosi Brewery from 1930 to 1952, and later worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co., from 1952 to 1977.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1912, in Cleveland, son of Louis and Ida (Joseph) Lazarowitz. On April 20, 1944, he married Cecelia "Delphine" Gillilan in Dubuque; she preceded him in death on March 21, 1996.
He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of the Potosi American Legion Post 473 and the Berg Averkamp Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5276 of Potosi. Joe also was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are four children, Jeffrey (Betty), of Platteville, Eugene (Kori), of Caseyville, Ill., Patricia "Tish" Jeffers, of Stoughton, and Melissa (Phillip) Otting, of Potosi; seven grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Lillian) Lazarus, of Louisville, Ky., (whom Joe was recently reunited with after 71 years); and a sister-in-law, Opal Gillilan, of Mukwonago. Joe also may be survived by his sister, Sarah, from whom he was separated at an early age.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ben and Frank.
