Roy H. Carlson of Rolling Meadows
Services for Roy H. Carlson, 81, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
Born March 13, 1917, he died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at his residence. Interment will be private.
Mr. Carlson was a retired meteorologist and had worked for United Airlines for 30 years. A veteran, he had served in the Army during World War II. Among his special interests, he was a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League of Rolling Meadows.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Bart (Ruth) Price of Burlinggame, Calif., Al Price of Denver, Colo., and Wendy (David) Powell of Irvine, Calif.; nephew, Eric Carlson of Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marina Carlson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Marie E. Carlson of Hampshire
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie E. Carlson, 88, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire. The Rev. Thomas Brantman will officiate.
Born May 19, 1910, in Hampshire, the 10th child of Karl and Mary (nee Schneider) Schiesher, she passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Hampshire, Marie was the valedictorian of Hampshire High School's Class of 1927. She had worked in the office of the J. B. Inderrieden Canning Company and the Hampshire Milk Company before becoming editor of the Hampshire Register Newspaper, a position she held for 12 years.
Mrs. Carlson was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Robison of Hampshire; son, Gene Carlson of Stillwater, Okla.; and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Schiesher of Chicago Heights and Anna Meyer of Plato Center.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Walter C. Carlson, April 22, 1997; brothers, Frank, George andRalph Schiesher; and sisters, Lorena Dumoulin, Henrietta Drendel, Rose Lehman, Regina Herman and Margaret Grollemond.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the church, with a rosary service at 4 p.m.
Masses or memorials in her name may be made to the church.

Marion C. Chill (nee Kowne), 85, of Chicago, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999. Arrangements were made by Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, (630) 834-6656.

Marybel Cooper of Naperville
Services for Marybel Cooper, 85, will be held at 4 p.m. today, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville.
Born Nov. 16, 1913, in Salisbury, Md., she died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at ManorCare of Naperville. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park, West Palm Beach, Fla.
She moved to Naperville in 1994, coming from West Palm Beach. She was a legal secretary for 16 years for Frank Johnson, the democratic senator from Florida.
Survivors include her sister, Polly Brooker of Naperville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland and Martha M. (nee Maddox) Cooper; brothers, Richard and Frank Cooper; and sisters, Amy O'Neil, Mildred Sanders and Marian Cooper.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

Sophie M. DeBoo of North Chicago
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophie M. DeBoo, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Queen of Peace Church.
Born April 30, 1906, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
She had lived in North Chicago for the last 75 years. She retired in 1971 from Fansteel Metalurgical Corp., after 36 years of service. She was a former member of Holy Family Church and presently a member of Queen of Peace Church and the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Survivors include her children, Odelia DeBoo of North Chicago, Marge Patricia (Ernie) Grymoski of Waukegan and John Cyril (Janice) DeBoo of Auburn, Wash.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Klimmer of Laguna Hills, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John DeBoo in 1954.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the Salata Funeral Home, 729 14th St., North Chicago.
Donations in her memory may be made to Queen of Peace Church.

Virginia M. Epperly of Elk Grove Village A funeral Mass for Virginia M. Epperly, 83, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Franciscan Friars officiating.
Born in Peoria on Sept. 27, 1915, the daughter of Robert T. and Anna De Nurfrio Harvey, she died at 10:58 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Elk Grove Manor Care. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria.
A homemaker, Mrs. Epperly was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and their Ladies Guild, and the Catholic Womens League. She was a very avid bridge player.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Funeral Chapel, Peoria, and 1 1/2 hours prior to the services on Monday at the church.

Charles R. Fineout of Gurnee
Services for Charles R. Fineout, 88, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.
Born April 13, 1910, in Douglas, Ariz., hedied Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Provena St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Fineout had also served in the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margaret Fineout; son, Charles (Gail) Fineout of Park City; daughter, Roberta (Thomas) Wilding of Ocala, Fla.; and grandchildren, Connie, Jason, Jessica and Jennifer.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Wayne S. `Doc' Fox of West Chicago
Funeral services for Wayne S. `Doc' Fox, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago.
Born Sept. 11, 1905, to Burton S. and Maud Madison Fox in Foxtown, Pa., he passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at King-Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
At the age of 12, Mr. Fox came to West Chicago to live with his maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. George Madison, and remained in the city for his entire life. He attended West ChicagoHigh School, where he starred in football, basketball and track. He was considered one of the finest athletes the high school ever produced and was inducted into the West Chicago Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Illinois, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. In 1928, he married Helen Lynch and they weretogether until her death in early 1998.
Mr. Fox was Chairman Emeritus of West Chicago State Bank, and was extremely active in civic affairs. He was a founding member of the West Chicago Rotary Club, a former city treasurer, and past member of the Community High School Board. He was one of the prime movers with the Park District in bringing West Chicago its first municipal swimming pool. He was an untiring booster for the city, its residents and businesses, and always stood ready to lend a helping hand for those in need.
With his wife, Helen, he was instrumental in theredevelopment of the former Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Station into the Wayne and Helen Fox Community Center.
He is survived by his son, David W. `Mike' Fox of Burr Ridge; grandchildren, Susan (Matthew) McGuire of Hinsdale, David W. (Alexandra) Fox of New Canaan, Conn., Katherine (Ryan) Laham of Chicago and Thomas E. (Deborah) of BurrRidge; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Wilbert W. Gehrke of Volo
Services for Wilbert W. Gehrke, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry. The Rev. Roger Schneider of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will officiate.
Born July 7, 1918, in Lake Zurich, to August and Bertha (nee Wiese) Gehrke, he died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Formerly of Grayslake, Mr. Gehrke had been a resident of Volo since 1952.
He had been employed as a crane and heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150 for more than 45 years. He also owned and operated Wilbert Gehrke Excavating in Volo for 10 years. Following the sale of his business, he became a part-time employee of Foxcroft Sod Farms in Crystal Lake. Among his special interests, he was an avidvegetable gardener.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Florence C. Gehrke (nee Moldenhauer), whom he marriedAug. 23, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Margie Horton of Lilymoor; son, Ralph (Charlotte) Gehrke of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Viola (the late Melvin) Nielsen of Crystal Lake and Ruth (the late Elmer) Wienke of Dundee; and brother-in-law, Clarence (the late Myrtle) Moldenhauer of Palatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Michael R. Gerry of Naperville
Services for Michael R. Gerry, 20, will be held at 3 p.m. today, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville.
Born April 29, 1978, in New Market, Ontario, Canada, he died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
A resident of Naperville since 1992, he was a graduate of Naperville North High School class of 1996. He was employed as a maintenance technician at the Village Green Apartments at Cantera in Warrenville.
Survivors include his mother, Deborah of Aurora and father, Robert of Naperville; sister, Tracy of Del Rio, Texas; maternal grandfather, Frank (Pat) Pidgeon of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; maternal stepgrandfather, Wally Collier of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Bessie Gerry; and maternal grandmother, Nancy Collier.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of services today, at the funeral home.

Garry Goyak of Palatine
Memorial services for Garry Goyak, 57, will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Born July 9, 1941, in Chicago Heights, he died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. Interment will be private.
Mr. Goyak was president of Vogue Tyre Company in Mount Prospect where he worked for 33 years. He touched many lives. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and was loved by all.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (nee Mettle); children, Kevin (Karen) and Kelli (Haydn) Rutz; brother, Steve (Cindy) Goyak; grandchildren, Conner, Tanner, Jeremy, Gavin and Abigail; nephews, Matthew and Tyler; and mother-in-law, Betty Mettle.
Visitation will be today following the service until 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Foundation, 303 E. Wacker, Suite 300, Chicago, IL 60601, would be appreciated.
