Kenneth Maxwell Kenney, 73, of Arcola, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, died 3:11 P.M., Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Arcola Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 7, 2008, at Mt. Gilead cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church or Donor’s Choice.
Kenneth was born August 9, 1934, in Nicholas County, KY, the son of Rev. W.J. and Elsie (Hollar) Kenney.
He is survived by his sister Patty Lovekamp and husband Terri of Cerro Gordo, IL; brother Junius Kenney and wife Doris of Louisville, KY; nieces and nephews Trisha Lovekamp, Jolene Kenney, Cllie Ambrose, Terry Lovekamp and wife Lisa, Dale Kenney, Bill Kenney and wife Denise; several great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Brandon L.S. Keppler

SPC Brandon L.S. Keppler, 23, of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008, in Eddyville, KY.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army.
Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy.
Brandon was born on August 7, 1984, in Decatur, the son of Jeff and Sherri Keppler.
Brandon served his country with the Illinois Army National Guard from 2001-2007, and was serving in the U.S. Army from 2007 to the present, and had toured in Iraq. Brandon was an air frame specialist while serving in the U.S. Army. He was formerly a machinist for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He enjoyed fishing, getting tatoos, and going out to eat. He especially loved being with his family and friends and loved being a big brother to his sisters.
Surviving are his parents Jeff and Sherri Keppler; sisters Jennifer Keppler, Shelbi Keppler, and Brianna Keppler all of Decatur, IL; grandparents Ray and Beverly Perry of Mechanicsburg, IL; Kenneth and Beulah Keppler of Warrensburg, IL; Dale and Linda Sunderland of Ball Ground, GA; Al Cox of Decatur, IL; and Shirl Cox of Decatur, IL; aunts and uncles Trisha and Jeff Hunziker; Carrie and Jeff Rensman; Susan Wilson; Debbie and Mike Riggs; Brenda and Larry Fore; Vicki and Aaron Kennedy; Jim and Becky Correll; Tim and Michelle Perry; and Doug and Beverly Cyrus; several cousins, friends, and special friends Jacob Blome, Anthony Charleson, Chad McIntyre, Chris and Erin McIntyre, and Mackenzie Rade; and estranged wife Jheri Keppler.
Brandon was preceded in death by his uncle Thomas P. Bly, and his St. Bernard “Max”.

Charles Donald Kerwood

Charles Donald Kerwood, 85, of Decatur, IL, died 10:40 P.M., Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 10, 2008, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday, March 9, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL and 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, L.S.A., or St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
Charles was born October 4, 1922, in Warrensburg, IL, the son of Charles and Clara (Williams) Kerwood. He married Eunice Strahle on October 10, 1943, in Decatur, IL.
Charles was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He retired as a truck driver after 30 years of service and previously worked at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eunice of Decatur, IL; son Donald Francis Kerwood and wife Nancy of Decatur, IL; daughter Alice May Doeding and husband Russell of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren Chris D. Kerwood and wife April of Decatur, IL, Mark A. Doeding of Davenport, FL, Melissa Whittington of Blue Mound, IL; great grandchildren Krista Kerwood and Tristen Whittington; brother Lewis Kerwood of Aspen, CO; sister Doris Chandler of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard.
The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Fair Havens Christian Home.

Nancy V. Koopman

Nancy V. Koopman, 53, of Forsyth, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Russell Weise presiding. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran School Association or DMH Hospice.
Nancy was born on June 19, 1954, in Pontiac, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Jeanne (Kruse) Petri. She married Ronald A. Koopman on August 16, 1975, in Minonk, IL.
Nancy graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1975. She worked as a CPA with Peat Marwick for 15 years and as a Director in the ADM Global Tax Department for the past 17 years. Nancy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Ronald of Forsyth; daughter Amy L. Koopman of Forsyth and her fiance` Kyle Roff; parents Virgil and Jeanne Petri of Hot Springs Village, AR; brothers Nick (Kathy) Petri of Minonk, IL and Chris (Michelle) Petri of Metamora, IL; and nephews Ethan and Stephen Petri.
Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Esparaz, and to the nurses and staff at DMH Hospice.

Everett Dean Kraft, 80, of Decatur, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 20, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem cemetery, Decatur, with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to National Parkinson’s Foundation.
Everett was born on March 13, 1927, the son of Herbert and Ella Mae (Reynolds) Kraft. He married Charlotte Whitrock on December 31, 1948, in Decatur.
Everett was the owner and operator of Kraft Trucking for many years. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post, and also a member of the Shriners. Everett enjoyed traveling, boating, and especially enjoyed his work.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years Charlotte; children Carla Sue (Dennis) Garceau, Brenda Kay Combs, Connie L. Kraft, Pamela J. Kraft, Richard Dean Kraft, Penny Jo Kraft, and James “Jimmy” Kraft, all of Decatur. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers Herbert Wayne (Janell) Kraft of Decatur, Jack (LaVonne) Kraft of Springfield, Merle (Kathleen “Kak”) Kraft of Decatur, and sister Virginia Kraft of Decatur.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond Kraft, brother Raymond Dale Kraft, and grandson Shawn Keller.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem cemetery, Decatur.
Memorials may be made to Niantic United Methodist Church or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Janelle was born on July 15, 1927, in Wakenda, MO, the daughter of Ora and Mary Ellen (Cushman) Burkhart. She married H. Wayne Kraft on August 14, 1948, in Decatur.
Janelle worked at Sears & Roebuck for 10 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Niantic United Methodist Church, Warrensburg Eastern Star Chapter #813, and National Society of DAR.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years Wayne of Decatur; sons Stephen Kraft of Monticello, IL; Dennis W. Kraft and wife Debra of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Jennifer Norris and husband Trent of Taylorville, IL; Michael Kraft and wife Nichole of Blue Mound, IL; Jeffrey Kraft and fiancee Rebecca Wright of Edwardsville, IL; great granddaughters Isabelle and Abigail Norris; sister Belva Tarrant and husband Bruce of Ava, MO; brothers John Burkhart and wife Marlid of Sibley, IL; and Charles Burkart and wife Marilyn of Decatur, IL.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents.

Gerald Langrand

Gerald “Jerry” Langrand, 93, of Decatur, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, in Lincoln Manor.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.
Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Jerry was born December 31, 1913, in Beason, IL, the son of Henry and Katherine (Barney) Langrand. He worked for A.E. Staley Co. for many years, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Jerry married Sophia Jacko January 25, 1943.
He is survived by his wife Sophia of Decatur; son Robert Langrand and wife Jill of Mt. Vernon, IL; daughter Joan Langrand of Minier, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Carmen J. Larry
May 18, 1912 - November 29, 2007

Carmen J. Larry, 95, of Decatur, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 3, at Moundford Free Methodist Church, 1803 E. Mound Road. Pastor Robert L. Smith and Pastor Mike Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 2 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave. Burial will be at Boiling Springs cemetery.
Carmen was born May 18, 1912, in Taskee, MO, the daughter of Byrd and Daisy (Ruble) Morgan. She married Merle Larry in Dixon, IL, on December 20, 1930. He preceded her in death. One of her greatest joys was working 25 years as a Nurse’s Aide on the Maternity Ward at Decatur & Macon County Hospital. She also served as a caregiver for elderly friends and later babysat three precious babies in her home. She was a member of Moundford Free Methodist Church, where she served for 18 years in Vacation Bible School and was active in Women’s Missionary Fellowship International and weekly Bible studies. Carmen loved baking pies and cooking, spending time with her family, doing needlework, and working in her flowers.
She is survived by her 4 children: Joyce (Chuck) Lohrstorfer of Decatur, Carroll Larry of Stow, OH, Janice (Jerry) Arvin of San Diego, CA, and Juanita Larry of Decatur; 9 grandchildren: Linda (Melton) McKown, Charles (Nancy) Lohrstorfer, Fred (Beth) Lohrstorfer, Tim (Suzanne) Lohrstorfer, Theresa (Sam) Bowser, Julia (Jeff) Phillips, Angela (Brett) Batko, Christy (David) Schneider, and Allison (Eric) Rainey; 11 great grandchildren: Mark McKown, Kris Lohrstorfer, Kari Brewer, Kyle Lohrstorfer, Kyle Batko, Jesse Batko, Stephanie Slomberg, Grace Phillips, Drew Schneider, Abby Schneider, and Luke Schneider; and 1 great-great grandson Taylor Brewer; 2 sisters; Hazel Kime of Ashton, IL, and Freda Lund of Eagan, MN; 3 brothers: Frank Morgan of Winnegago, IL, Truman Morgan of Fisk, MO, and Junior Morgan of Steward, IL, plus many nieces and nephews.
Carmen was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, brothers Lowell Morgan, Willis Morgan, and Clyde Morgan, sisters Maude Davis and Helen Burchard, and daughters-in-law Sylvia Larry and Barbara Larry.
Carmen will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who look forward to seeing her in Heaven. She laid a strong foundation of faith for her family.
Memorials may be made to Moundford Free Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Totel and the 5th floor nursing staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital for their kind and loving care.
