CASEY, Ill. - Mildred Frankel, 84, of Casey died at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in Birchwood Nursing Home. She was a homemaker. She was born March 7, 1918, in Anderson Township in Clark County to Otis Leroy Williams and Clara Ellen Carpenter Williams. Survivors include four sisters, Velma Maxwell and Marilyn Hammer, both of Martinsville, Ruth Wilkey of Paris and Mae Long of Terre Haute, Ind. She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Frankel; one brother, Otis Williams Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Conner and Irene Conner. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, with the Rev. David Wilson, of the Martinsville Bible Church, officiating. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today. Burial is in St. Paul cemetery in Martinsville Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Lincolnland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
George Dickinson Jr.
PALESTINE, Ill. - George Dickinson Jr., 81, of rural Palestine died at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind. He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Palestine to George Clinton Dickinson and Dora Rockner Dickinson. His wife, Marjorie Goodwin Dickinson, died Oct. 14, 1994. Survivors include two daughters, DeEtta Welte and Tamara Kent; and two grandchildren. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday in Palestine First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Esther Pfeifer and Ron Pfeifer officiating. Burial is in Palestine cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today in Goodwine Funeral Home and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday in the church.

ROBINSON, Ill. - Darrell Wayne Dunlap, 40, of Robinson died at 9:38 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in his home. He was born March 5, 1962, in Robinson to Robert E. Dunlap and Lucille Snider Dunlap. Survivors include his mother; three daughters, Amanda Dunlap, Melinda Dunlap and Jessica Dunlap; one brother, Rondal Dunlap; and two sisters, Brenda Creed and Donna Hampton. PARIS, Ill. - Alma L. Simpson, 78, of Paris died at 2:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, in Lynncrest Manor in Paris. She was born May 15, 1924, in Paris to Emory Elijiah Evitt and Eva Violetta Evitt. Survivors include her husband, William B. Simpson; four daughters, Victoria Gale, Rebecca Collier, Mary Hukill and Sandy Whitley; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Virginia Belle Walden
VERMILION, Ill. - Virginia Belle Walden, 79, of Vermilion died at 6:13 p.m. Thursday in Paris Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Vigo County, Ind., to Dale McCoy and Anna Campbell McCoy. Her husband, Leroy Walden, died March 15, 1981. Survivors include two sons, John Walden and Edward Walden; one daughter, Deanna Walden; two brothers, Jack McCoy and Jimmie McCoy; eight sisters, Juanita McLain, Maxine Ridener, Charlotte Searcy, Lois Ray, Barbara Hoopingarner, Shirley Mace, Betty Canada and Emma Spickard; and two grandchildren. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sutton & Son Funeral Home, Paris. Burial is in Vermilion cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Margaret H. Schroeger Grossmayer
MARSHALL, Ill. - Margaret H. Schroeger Grossmayer, 85, of Marshall and formerly of Kansas City, Mo., died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, in her residence. She was a registered nurse for 38 years until her retirement. She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Fairmount, Mo., to Arnold L. Bowen and Carrie Mae Helm Bowen. Her first husband, Martin O. Schroeger, died May 2, 1972; her second husband, Anton Grossmayer, died May 31, 2002. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip M. and Mary Schroeger of Marshall; five grandchildren, Mary Wheeler, Genny Schroeger, Cecilia York and Diane Smith, all of Marshall and Cartha Foley of Sullivan, Ill.; six great-grandchildren, Mikayla Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Jared Maloney, Justin Maloney, Vanessa Smith and Nathan Smith. She also was preceded in death by one brother, William Bowen in 1999. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Red Cross and was past president of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing Alumni Association. She was a 1940 graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City. Mass of Christian Burial is 9 a.m. CST Friday in Pearce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet cemetery in Kansas City. ROBINSON, Ill. - Robert L. Cain, 50, of Robinson, Ill., died at 3:35 p.m., Monday, in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was district sales manager for Pioneer DuPont. ROBINSON, Ill. - Dorothy M. Carter, 73, of Robinson died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, in Crawford Memorial Hospital, from an apparent heart attack. She was born Dec. 9, 1927, in West Union to George Heleine and Elizabeth Collier Heleine. Her husband, Dean A. Carter, died Dec. 16, 1999. Survivors include one son, Jeffery Carter; two daughters, Rebecca Garrard and Sandra Gower; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. PARIS, Ill. - Anna S. Massa, 85, of Paris and formerly of Clinton, Ind., died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Blanford, Ind., to Andrew Sakala and Mary. Her husband, William C. Massa, died in 1980. Survivors include one sister, Mary Jones; and a niece. She was born Dec. 17, 1911, in rural Palestine to Lester T. Adams and Lillie Phillippe Adams. Survivors include her husband, Fay Reinbold; one daughter, Donna Nadine Wheeldon; four sons, Norman Wayne Reinbold, Doyne Reinbold, Paul Reinbold and Nolan Reinbold; one brother, Forrest Adams; one sister, Bertine Mahan; 10 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. OBLONG, Ill. - Hester Mae Goodwin, 94, of Oblong died at 4:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson, following a brief illness. She was born May 28, 1907, in Crawford County to Lawrence P. Bartmess and Minnie Wright. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Alvin Best died in 1954; and Herschel Goodwin in 1977. Survivors include one son, Lawrence "Buster" Best; one daughter, Mary Lou Arnot; one stepdaughter, Thelma Lee Best; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. CST Tuesday in Pulliam Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Bigley officiating. Burial is in Mount Pleasant cemetery, rural Annapolis. Private family visitation is scheduled.
Helen Hubbard Miller
MARSHALL, Ill. - Helen Hubbard Miller, 78, of Marshall died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Hospice House in Cape Coral, Fla., of cancer. She and her husband, Chick, owned and operated Hubbard's Grocery in Snyder, from 1954 to 1965. She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Princeton, Ind., to Haskell O. Wallace and Fannie Rae Sowders Wallace. Her first husband, Charles E. "Chick" Hubbard, whom she married
in September 1946, in Princeton, Ind., died April 9, 1988. Survivors include her husband, William E. Miller, whom she married
in May 1999; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Jack Taylor of Bokeelia, Fla., and Lucinda and Alan Wesley of Florence, Ariz.; one brother, Jerauld E. Wallace Sr. of New Castle, Ind.; six grandchildren, Tammy Taylor, Troy Wesley, Tina Taylor, Angie Robideau, Scott Wesley and Christine Kesler; three great-grandchildren, Sammy Wesley, Jacob Wesley and Josh Wesley; and special friends, Karen and Pat Quirke, Bette and Rae Woodard and Rosa McKinney. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou Raine and Zula Follis. She also was a homemaker. She was a member of American Legion Post 90 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Marshall, and was a long time member of Marshall American Legion Golf Course. She enjoyed golfing, traveling and visiting with her friends. Services are 10:30 a.m. CST Wednesday in Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in West Union, with the Rev. Doug Elmore officiating. Burial is in Maple Hill cemetery in Princeton. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. until services Wednesday.
