Gerald L. Easterbrook Sr. of Libertyville
Prayers for Gerald L. Easterbrook Sr., 75, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Libertyville.
Born Jan. 6, 1924, in Washington, Pa., he passed awayMonday, May 10, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery.
Gerald was a former resident of Highwood and had lived in Libertyville for the past 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish and the Libertyville American Legion Post #329. He was a six-year veteran of the Navy, having served during World War II. Jerry owned the Stag and Doe Lounge in Highwood from 1955 to 1969 and was a retired salesman for Prudential Insurance Company.
Surviving are his wife, Marian (nee Novara) Easterbrook; children, Gerald L. Easterbrook Jr. of Austin, Texas, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Helstad of Libertyville and James A. Easterbrook of Chicago; brother-in-law, Kim (Jean) Novara of Mukwonago, Wis.; sister-in-law, Judy (Mike) Roach of Green Bay, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
`Old Jer' will be missed by Megan, Erin, Kaitlyn and Allison, Novara, Stevie, Anna, Nick and Tony Ross, and Jessie and Joey Roach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Blanche Easterbrook; and brothers, Earl and Albert.
Friends of the family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are being accepted by the family for a fundbeing established in his memory.

Mary C. Frasco of Palatine
Prayers for Mary C. Frasco, 70, will be said at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Mass will follow at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, Palatine. Entombment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum, Palatine.
She was the beloved wife of 44 years of Frank A.; loving mother of Frank M. (Nancy); proud grandmother of Erin, Sarah and Frank M. Jr.; dearest sister of Robert (Joyce) O'Donnell, Richard O'Donnell and Sr. Diane O'Donnell B. V. M.; and dear sister-in-law of James (Laura May) Frasco, Raymond (Dorothy) Frasco and Richard (Carol) Frasco. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, James and Catherine O'Donnell; dearest brother, James (Ann) O'Donnell and dearest sister, Joan (Edwin) Schmitt; in-laws, Sam and Rose Frasco; dear brother-in-law, Robert (Wilma) Frasco; and sisters-in-law, Eileen O'Donnell and Pat Frasco.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Gladys L. Freeman lifelong resident of Palatine
Funeral services for Gladys L. Freeman (nee Karner), 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy.
Born Sept. 29, 1923, in Elmhurst, she died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Freeman had worked very closely with her husband, Howard, who owned Zimmer Hardware of Palatine from 1948 until their retirement in 1974. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Palatine, and a charter member of the Thursday Morning Thunderbird Ladies Golf League of which she was a part for 36 years.
Survivors include her son, David W. (Kristin) Freeman of Palatine; daughter, Diane Dolan of Palatine; grandchildren, Christopher and Tracy Freeman, Richard Dolan and Amanda and Benjamin Freeman; great-grandchild, Justin Dolan; and former daughter-in-law, Gloria Hartgrove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Freeman, and her son, Richard H. Freeman.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to St. Paul United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 144 E. Palatine Road, Palatine, IL 60067.

Mildred W. Gallagher of Arlington Heights
Services for Mildred W. Gallagher (nee Waldron), 97, formerly of Mount Prospect, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights. Dr. Jeffrey Deardroff will officiate.
Born July 31, 1901, in Omaha, Neb., she died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Gallagher was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Palatine grade school district and at Glenbrook North High School. She was a member of P. E. O. Chapter LH, and a former member of National Education Association, Illinois Education Association, Department of Elementary School Principals, National Council of Teachers of English, Illinois Association for Curriculum Development, and Delta Kappa Gamma National Honorary Teachers Association. She was also past president of Mt. Prospect Women's Club.
She was the wife of the late Clarence; mother of Nancy (the late Fred) Hartwig of Elk Grove Village; sister of Helen (the late Paul) Rudd of Lincoln, Neb.; grandmother of Lynne (Mark) Wehrheim of Elgin, Debra (Curtis) Coleman and Robert (Patricia) Hartwig of Arlington Heights; and great-grandmother of Courtney, Andy, Randi, Holly, Lee, Erin, Jimmy and Kristin.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004; or the Glenbrook Scholarship Fund, 2300 Shermer Road, Northbrook, IL 60062.

William V. A. Hansen of Hawthorn Woods for 12 years
Services for William V. A. Hansen, 88, formerly of Barrington, will be held at a later date in Rhode Island.
Born Sept. 11, 1910, in Ridgefield, Conn., he diedWednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Rhode Island.
Mr. Hansen was employed by Central Standard Life Insurance Company prior to retiring. He graduated from Harvard University in 1934. A World War II veteran, he served in Panama during World War II, attaining the rank of major. He enjoyed playing chess.
He was the husband ofthe late Georgiana (nee MacArthur), they were married for 47 years when she passed away in 1994; father of Robert (Carolyn) Gardner of Barrington, David (Caren) Gardner of Crystal Lake, Nancy Hansen of Providence, R. I., Georgiana(Stephen) Hoffmann of Carbondale and Martha (Paul) Lahti of Crystal Lake; grandfather of 17; and great-grandfatherof 16.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010.

Robert W. Harth of Arlington Heights
Services for Robert W. Harth, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. He will lie in state from 9 a.m. untilthe time of service.
Born May 11, 1924, in Long Grove, he died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare Center. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Harth was a 25-year employee of the Village of Arlington Heights, where he worked in the water department. He served in the Army, 71st infantry division, during World War II. He was a member of Arlington Heights VFW Post 981.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Leona (nee Kirchoff), whom he married June 19, 1948; and his children, Debra (Donald) Klipowicz of Rolling Meadows, Nancy (Donald) Hull of Arlington Heights, Robert (Denise) Harth of Roswell, Ga. and Douglas (Anne) Harth of Lake Zurich.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Casimir J. Helizon, 81, of Villa Park, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.

Bernard J. Jacobsen formerly of Lombard
Memorial services for Bernard J. Jacobsen, 87, of Chicago, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Jan. 16, 1912, in Chicago, he died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Chicago.
Mr. Jacobsen had worked as a salesman for Pargon Spring Company for 40 years prior to retiring. He was a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club, Spring Manufacturers Association and the Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers.
He was the husband of the late Bernice (nee Reid); father of Fred Jacobsen and his loving partner, Connie Foster of Chicago and Tom (Ellen) Jacobsen of Green River, Wy.; brother of the late Signa Franz; grandmother of eight; and great-grandmother of six.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.

Irene Marie Jansky of Elgin
Funeral services for Irene Marie Jansky, 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Elgin, with the Rev. Dominic Cassidy officiating.
Born April 24, 1922, in Tisch Mills, Wis., to Wenzel and Pauline Mizera Koukalik, she died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
Mrs. Jansky had been employed as an inspector by Chicago Aerial Industries in Barrington, and was a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn (Richard) York of South Bend, Ind., Marcia (Michael) Huddleston of Elgin and Paula (Robert) Johannes of Joliet; brother, Merlin (Kathryn) Koukalik of Daytona, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Adam and Jill York, Robin Shaffer, Kayla and Jowell Johannes and Teresa and Michelle Huddleston; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Kelsey Shaffer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, with prayers at 7 p.m., at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin, and from 9:15 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m.
Saturday, at the church.
Mass in Irene's name, or memorials made to either the American Cancer Society or Seasons Hospice, 1600 W. Dempster Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60008, would be appreciated.

Erwin J. Jiran of Des Plaines
Prayers for Erwin J. Jiran, 78, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines, with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Church, at Pearson and Prairie, Des Plaines.
Born July 2, 1920, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Oakton Pavilion. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mr. Jiran worked for 50 years in the trucking industry. He retired as Director of Safety for Montgomery Tank Lines. He was also former Cub Master of Pack 222 and founder of the Scout Post at St. Mary's.
He was the husband of Theresa (nee Felker); father of David (Katherine) Jiran of Collinsville, Okla., Donald (Lisa) Jiran of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Donna Jean Jiran of Hoffman Estates and Theresa (Richard) Van Wazer of Des Plaines; grandmother of 13 and the late Jacob Jiran; and great-grandmother of 11.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Masses, or memorials to the Alzheimers Foundation or American Diabetes. Association would be appreciated.

Margaret O. Johnson of South Elgin
Prayers for Margaret O. Johnson, 94, formerly of Carpentersville, will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, with the Rev. L. Thomas Risley officiating.
Born in Spring Valley, Ill. Oct. 12, 1904, the daughter of Edward and Frances (nee Eich) Acton, she died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Alderwood Care Center, South Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Monica Church in Carpentersville.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Margaret `Meg' (Jerry) Marshall of West Dundee, Patricia (Jim) Campbell of Huntley and Katherine (Dennis) Andry of Rolling Meadows; five grandsons, Theodore Payton of West Dundee, Michael (Susan) Payton of Lake in the Hills, Robert (Donna) Payton of Arlington Heights, William (Sheila) Wilk of Rockford and Paul (Janet) Wilk of Aurora; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Edwin Wilk of West Dundee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Johnson, in 1966; and daughter, Frances Wilk, in 1987.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:45 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Please omit flowers; Masses would be appreciated.
