DECATUR -- Mary Virginia Bradford, 58, of Decatur died Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services of farewell and tribute will be noon Wednesday in Antioch M.B. Church with pastor C.D. Stuart officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by: Walker Funeral Service & Chapel.
Mrs. Bradford was born May 21, 1944, in Decatur, the daughter of Frank and Eulah VanDyke Conley. She worked for Caterpillar Inc. and was a longstanding, faithful member of Antioch M.B. Church. She married William Bradford in 1958. After this union ended, she then entered a long relationship with John Goins.
She leaves not to mourn, but to cherish fond memories, her daughters, Melissa O Neal (Kurt McGinnis) of Decatur; Marline (Percy) Beeler of Springfield; Kathleen Bradford of Decatur; stepson Bradford Randle of Decatur; special friend, Tonda Currie of Decatur; brothers, Kermit (Jean) Conley and David Conley, both of Decatur; Frank (Helen) Conley of Granada Hills, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, loyal friends, Jerrie Holliday, Ethel Armstead, Dorothy Williams and Tycia Copeland and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marion Conley; and her longtime companion, John Goins.

Wetherell
ARTHUR -- Lois Goldia Wetherell, 87, of Arthur died 7:40 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) in the Arthur Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, with the Rev. Michael Mayfield as officiant. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Arthur Home.
Mrs. Wetherell was born Nov. 25, 1915, in rural Coles County, a daughter of Earl Popr and Goldia Honn Beals. After graduating from Arthur High School in 1933, she worked at Stock's Variety Store for six years. She married Samuel Wetherell on Aug. 26, 1939, in Washington, D.C. They spent the next three years in Washington, Newport News, Va., and New York City and then returned to Arthur in 1942. Mrs. Wetherell was active as a Cub Scout den leader, Sunday school piano player and served as the bookkeeper for Wetherell Motors and Wetherell Auto Supply. She was a charter member of Arthur Women's Club, a member of Order of the Eastern Star and served as an election judge for many years. She was also a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golf, bowling, bridge, boating, traveling, cross stitching quilt tops and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband; son, Richard Wetherell and wife Cheryl of Monticello; daughter, Janis Wetherell of Corvallis, Ore.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and niece, Linda Beaman.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Eads.

TAYLORVILLE -- Dale E. Wood, 83, of Taylorville, formerly of Tower Hill, died 4:45 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visionway Christian School General Fund, in care of Taylorville Christian Church, Box 86, Taylorville, IL 62568.
Mr. Wood was born May 14, 1919, near Beecher City, the son of Lemuel F. and Florence G. Hogge Wood. He was a retired farmer and a member of Moose Lodge 1294 and Eagles Lodge 4395, both of Shelbyville. He married Elinor Marie Curry on Dec. 15, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo. She died Jan. 29, 1972.
Surviving are his sons, Larry Wood of Decatur and Jim Wood and wife Connie of Taylorville; daughter, Shirley Hilliard and husband Arnold of Taylorville; sisters, Flora Belle Klauser and husband Robert of Shelbyville and Fae McCollum of Fillson; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elinor; and brother, Lee Don Wood.
