Alumbaugh
DECATUR -- Richard Clyde "Red" Alumbaugh, 63, of Decatur died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) in his home.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, with military rites by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: donor's choice.
Red was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Decatur, the son of Clyde Willis and Mildred Jane Keeling Alumbaugh. He entered the Air Force in 1961 and was discharged at the rank of sergeant in 1967, as a weapons specialist. He loved working on automobiles and playing the guitar. He worked for El Bauer Chevrolet, United Automotive Electric, Illinois Power Co., Sangamon Auto Supply, Clinton Nuclear Power Plant, Peck's Auto Supply and retired from Donnelly Automotive Machine Inc. in May 2002. He played in several bands, mainly Dave Causey's Headhunters and the Heavyweights, consisting of Dave Causey, Ron Hoffman, Steve Beck and Harold Motts, plus many other great players. He married Rita Maureen Nottingham on Oct. 17, 1960, in Decatur.
He leaves not to mourn, but to cherish fond memories, his wife, Maureen; son, Richard "Doug" Alumbaugh and wife Stephanie of Morrisville, N.C.; daughters, Tina Kay Moyer and husband Steve of Taylorville; Amy Jo Khan and husband Majeed of Rochester Hills, Mich.; sister, Gloria Williams and husband Ivan "Doug" of Mount Zion; grandchildren, Heather Alumbaugh, Lori Alumbaugh, Shelby Moyer, Toby Moyer, Kyle Moyer, Marissa Khan and Yasmeen Khan; nephew, Jeffery Williams and wife Maureen; niece, Penny Williams; great-nieces, Lauren Williams and Melissa Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you for the loving care Red received from DMH Home Health & Hospice Services, Dr. Elliot, Dr. Velasco and their staff.
Red will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

DECATUR -- Robert D. "Bob" Reeves, 59, of Decatur died 9:45 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 22, 2003) in his home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Bob was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Vandalia, the son of Relmond and Ellnora Schellert Reeves. He was retired from Caterpillar Inc. and a member of Goldwing Road Riders Association. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and riding
motorcyle. He married Brenda Dunkirk on May 29, 1965, in Taylorville.
Surviving are his wife; beloved Hershey; sister, Evelyn Reavis of Indianapolis, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to offer a very special thank-you to Dr. James Wade, Dr. Stephen Goetter and last but not least, Dr. Douglas Dove.

DECATUR -- Beatrice Washington, 84, of Decatur died Wednesday (Jan. 22, 2003) in Decatur.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Walker Funeral Service and Chapel with visitation one hour before services.
Mrs. Washington was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Mississippi, the daughter of Clara Ellis and Wilson Dickens. She moved to Chicago at the age of 4, where she attended the Chicago public schools. She was self-employed and enjoyed cooking. She married Clark Washington in 1933. He preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her son, Arnett Benson of Chicago; daughter, Jacqueline Noble of Decatur; sisters, Marceline Gunter of California; Jacqueline Green of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Fredrick Washington; daughter, Brenda Washington; brother, Marshall Dickens; sisters, Annie Mae Berlin and Carrie Mae Bryant; and one grandchild.

DECATUR -- John R. Wheeler Jr., 46, of Decatur died 5:19 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003).

John was born Sept. 18, 1956, in Decatur, the son of John R. Wheeler Sr. and Phyllis Joann Craw. He served in the
Army, attended Vineyard Community Church and worked as a sheet metal worker for Union Local 218. He married Maureen E. Moats on Nov. 6, 1998, in Champaign.
Surviving are his wife; father; stepmother, Roxann; daughter, Jamie Oral; brother and sisters, Debbie Tertocha of Decatur; Donna Sue Wheeler of Chicago; Ken Wheeler of Decatur; Dora Wheeler of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
