JACK L. WILLIS
HUGOTON -- Jack Lowrey Willis, 74, Hugoton, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Oct. 25, 1926, to Howard Lowrey and Lenora A. (Hodges) Willis in Stevens County.
He married Lillie M. Milburn March 29, 1946, in Liberal. She survives.
He had been a lifetime resident of Stevens County.
He was a retired farmer, having farmed most of his life.
Other survivors, include three sons, Richard Willis, Roger Willis and wife, Pat, and Phillip Willis and wife, Vanessa, all of Hugoton; one daughter, Lois Hedrick and husband, Rod, Cheney; two brothers, Warren Willis and wife, Betty, and Dois Willis and wife, Dixie, all of Hugoton; two sisters, Goldie Williams, Hugoton, and Annis Belle Stremel, Liberal; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Archie Willis; one brother, Tommy Willis; and twin sisters, Betty Willis and June McClure.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.
Memorials are suggested to either the Benincasa House in Garden City or the donor's choice, both in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
TIMOTHY O. FERGUSON
EL DORADO SPRINGS, Mo. -- Timothy Olin Ferguson, 48, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at El Dorado Springs.
He was born Sept. 24, 1952, to Charlie and Edith (Davolt) Ferguson in Elkhart.
He married Terry Thompson June 16, 1973, in Elkhart. She survives.
He had been a resident of El Dorado Springs for two years.
He was a rancher.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Elkhart.
He was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo.
Other survivors include his parents of Keyes, Okla.; one son, Dusty Lee Ferguson, of the home; one daughter, Tara Dawn Ferguson of the home; three brothers, Donnie Ferguson, Creede, Colo., Charles Ferguson, Guymon, Okla., and Monty Ferguson, Phoenix, Ariz.; and three sisters, Connie Bryan, Edmond, Okla., Elva Ponder, Ashville, N.C., and Elaine Louthan, Westminster, Colo.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart with the Brothers Tom Alshiemer and David Johnson presiding.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery.

FRANK L. ELMORE
CHARLOTTE, Mich. -- Frank Lee Elmore, 48, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001.
He was born April 17, 1953, to Bobbie Dean and Geraldine (Morgan) Elmore in Anthony.
He was a graduate of Liberal High School in Liberal.
He was employed at Whaley Steel Company, where he worked as a construction steel worker.
His hobbies included being outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Deana; two sons, Christopher Elmore, of the home, and Jeremy Elmore, Lansing, Mich.; one granddaughter, Taylor Case, Lansing; his mother, Geraldine Sauer, Ulysses; one brother, Larry Elmore and wife, Jody, Kaw, Okla.; one sister, Jeralyn Spielman and husband, J.C., Liberal; five step-brothers; and two step-sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing with the Pastor Michael C. Bater presiding.
Burial will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
The family will receive friends from from 6-8 p.m. today at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel and one hour prior to service time at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

JEFF D. BEAN JR.
MOSCOW Jeff D. Bean, II., 75, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Sept. 5, 1926 to Jeff D. and Ella Mae (Terrell) Bean in Tahlequah, Okla.
He married Erma Faye. She died Feb, 21, 1998. He married Wanda Smith March 30, 2001 in Moscow. She survives.
He grew up around the Tahlequah area, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an ammunitions yeoman.
After the war, he graduated from the Chilicco Indian School, and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at Northeastern State University.
He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard, and served in the Korean War as a mess sergeant. He served with the guard for 24 years and retired as a first sergeant.
He became an educator in 1956 for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at the Chilicco Indian School and eventually earned a master's degree in education. He reitired from the BIA in 1980 at Crown Point, N.M.
He became a farmer, and his interests concerned family, friends, animals and nature.
Other survivors include one son, Jeff D. Bean, III, Salem, Ore.; one brother, Emmett Bean, Compton, Calif.; two sisters, Annabelle Grossman, Arcata, Callif., and Opal Conley, Vian, Okla.; one step-son, Jim Smith and wife, Toni, Moscow; one step-daughter, Kay Christian and husband, Mike, Casa Grande, Ariz.; six step-grandchildren, Stacy Smith, Travis Smith, Tyler Christian, Seth Christian, Treavor Christian, and Channing Christian; and one step-great-granddaughter, Summer Stimpson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Bean; two sisters, Elizabeth Crowchly and Mary Ross; and one step-great-grandson, Dalton Geist.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Moscow.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Internment Pavilion at Fort Gibson National Cemetery
in Fort Gibson, Okla.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

VIOLA BUSSONE
PITTSBURG -- Viola Bussone, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at the Mount Carmel Medical Center Emergency Room.
She was born Nov. 8, 1922, to Ray and Anne (Clements) Morgan in Weir.
She attended and graduated from Mulberry Schools. She has been a lifetime resident of Southeast Kansas.
She married Joe Bussone April 12, 1941, in Girard. He survives.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of the Meadowside Baptist Church, where she donated her time to help out.
Other survivors include two sons, Joey R. Bussone, Pittsburg, and Jimmy J. Bussone, Girard; one daughter, Dorothy Dickey, Liberal, Mo.; one sister, Judy Williams, Carthage, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Billy Ray Morgan; and one sister, Dorothy Swagart.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac.
Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

OPAL MARIE BRUINGTON
MONTEZUMA -- Opal Marie Bruington, 81, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at her home in rural Montezuma.
She was born Oct. 24, 1919, to Harry and Pearl Mae (Brock) Reinert in Gray County.
She was a lifetime resident of the area.
She married Joseph "Joe" Lawrence Bruington Oct. 1, 1938, in Ashland. He survives.
She moved with her husband from Meade County to rural Montezuma.
She was a housewife and homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montezuma, where she played the piano for Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Blue Light Extension Club, both of Montezuma.
Her hobbies included crocheting, oil painting and playing the organ and piano.
Other survivors include one son, Larry L. Bruington and wife, Joy, Upland, Calif.; one daughter, Judy M. Gall and husband, Emil, Dodge City; one brother, Leslie Reinert and wife, June, Syracuse; one brother-in-law, Leroy Padget, Ford; one sister, Leona Randolph and husband, Jack, Lakin; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Zella Padget and Dollie Hodges.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma, with the Rev. Gene Eshleman presiding.
Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call at the Montezuma Funeral Home until 8 p.m. today.
