Wayne Cothran, 63, of Kuttawa, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 11:19 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
A retired ironworker for Ironworkers Local #782 in Paducah and a member of Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church, he was a son of Lovene Swihart Cothran of Grand Rivers and the late Hugh Carl Cothran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Burd Cothran; a brother, Hughie “Bud” Cothran; and a sister, Carrie Lee Johnson.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Kim Cothran; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Renee Cothran of Farmington, N.M., and Shane and Karen Cothran of Sweeney, Texas; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Doug Story of Benton; a stepson, Michael Hendrickson of Murray; five grandchildren; Shelby, Cameron, Jared, Logan and Bailey; two brothers, John Cothran and Dwight Cothran, both of Grand Rivers; a sister, Jeanette Moneymaker of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
The Rev. Jimmy Jones will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in Rolling Hills cemetery in Eddyville.
Mildred Frances Satterfield Wyatt, 81
Mildred Frances Satterfield Wyatt, 81, of Caldwell County, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at 4:35 p.m. at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, following a short illness.
A retired clerical worker at Kentucky State Penitentiary and member of Eddy Creek Baptist Church, she was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Edmond Bowie and Mary Louise Gray Satterfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Wyatt in 1970; and a brother, Adrian Gray Satterfield.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Wyatt and Michael Wyatt, both of Princeton; two daughters, Lou Ellen Jackson of Caldwell County and Nancy Melton of Dawson Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
The Rev. Ronnie Sivells will officiate the service, assisted by the Rev. Gary Peek.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Denny McConnell, 85
Denny McConnell, 85, of Princeton, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at his home, following a short illness.
A World War II veteran, retired electrician from McConnell Electric Co., retired member of the Princeton Fire Department with many years of service, and member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton, where he served as a deacon and choir member, he was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Harry and Delia Tandy McConnell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine McConnell, on May 22, 2002; and four brothers, Howard McConnell, Sam McConnell, Robert McConnell and Clifford McConnell.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carole Lynn and Joe Clift and Glenda and Richard Cooper, all of Princeton; three grandchildren, Joe Frank Clift, Dustin Cooper and Erron Cooper; and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. Ralph McConnell of Hopkinsville.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery with the Rev. Tom Hughes officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. Bill Jones.
Pallbearers will be members of the Princeton Fire Department.
Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mayme Newby, 88, formerly of South Seminary Street, Princeton, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 1:55 a.m. at Princeton Health Care Manor, following a long illness.
A homemaker, member of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church and 39-year employee of the Capitol Theatre, she was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Marshall County, a daughter of the late Harry and Dulcia Yates Corder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Newby on Oct.. 21, 1994.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Sue Newby of Princeton; two grandsons, Barry Newby and Danny Newby, both of Caldwell County; and three great-grandchildren, Stevie Marie Newby, Olivia Rae Newby and Isaac William Newby.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. David Alexander officiating.
Burial followed in Bethlehem cemetery in Caldwell County.

William Garnett Traylor, 75, of Princeton, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 2:10 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, following a long illness.
A retired motel owner-operator, U.S. Air Force veteran, member of Second Baptist Church of Princeton, Clinton Masonic Lodge #82, Eastern Star #315, V.F.W., American Legion, Elks and a Shriner, he was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Charlie and Maggie Stone Traylor. He served on the Princeton City Council for a number of years and formerly operated Parkway Motel and Traylor’s Steakhouse in Princeton.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Harper Traylor; a daughter, Esther Stevenson of Princeton; and two grandsons, Mason and Matthew Stevenson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, at 2:30 p.m at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. Jerrell White officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery in Princeton.

Katherine J. Poindexter, 69, formerly of Princeton, died April 1, 2003, at Ft. Myers, Fla., following a long illness.
Born Jan. 28, 1934, a daughter of Mary E. Johns Potter and the late Barnes Potter, she was preceded in death by a daughter.
Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Poindexter of Princeton; two daughters, Dawn Poindexter of Atlanta, Ga., and Susan Delago of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother, Edwin Potter of Chattahoochee, Fla.; and four sisters, Geneia Pinson of St. Augustine, Fla., Jackie Bennett of Greenwood, Fla., Gwen Ford of Florida, and Gloria Allday of San Antonio, Texas.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery.

A member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired assembly line worker at Thomas Industries, she was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late George Harvey and Nettie Ann Oliver Gilkey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Williamson.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Burchett of Caldwell County; a stepdaughter, Inell Woolwine of Lyon County; two grandchildren, Barry Burchett and Cheryl LeBlanc; six stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
