Sister Mary Martha Schuler
09/03/2005

Sister Mary Martha Schuler, 71, of 405 W. Parrish Ave., Owensboro, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at the University of Louisville Health Services. She was born in Cincinnati to the late Joseph and Alleen Samms Schuler. She has been a missionary for 53 years as a Glenmary Sister, having begun in 1952. She served the home missions in Texas, Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia. She was a Hospice volunteer and enjoyed writing to prisoners.

She is survived by a step sister-in-law, Rita Greivenkamp of Cincinnati; and her Glenmary Sister Community.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at St. Stephen Cathedral. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with a wake service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenmary Sisters, P.O. Box 22264, Owensboro, KY 42304.

Leldon L. Ferguson

BEAVER DAM - Leldon L. Ferguson, 80, of Beaver Dam died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a retired sawmill worker.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ferguson; two brothers, Charles Ferguson and Ray Ferguson; and two sisters, Pansy Ferguson and Lillian Knight.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation: From 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Bobbie Lee Cook Sr.

CENTRAL CITY - Bobbie Lee Cook Sr., 73, of Central City died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Taylorville, Ill. He was a retired coal miner, a member of Powderly Methodist Church and a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Bobbie Cook Jr. and Tim Cook; two daughters, Laquita Spitzner and Kay Givens; and three brothers, James Cook, Eddie Cook and Tom Cook.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Margaret Ann Bolton

Margaret Ann Bolton, 64, of 1200 E. Byers Ave., Owensboro, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at her home. Born in Owensboro a daughter of the late Raymond Joseph Sr. and Anna Lucille O'Neal Davenport, she was a retired secretary and a member of the Baptist faith who enjoyed talking with her sisters, taking care of her grandchildren, singing, shopping and watching Judge Judy. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Lee Davenport and David Harold Davenport.

Mrs. Bolton was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Jackie Lee Bolton; her son, Jackie Lynn Bolton of Evansville; her daughter, Kathy Sue Kelley of Owensboro; her sisters, Dinah Cook, Rose Deno, Kathy Jane Davenport and Katy Sue Hempfling, all of Owensboro; her brothers, Raymond Joseph Davenport Jr. of Norfolk, Fla., and Daniel Davenport of Masonville; her grandchildren, Apryl Goatee and Amanda Peacock, both of Owensboro; her three great-grandchildren, including Ryuan Goatee of Owensboro; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David Eugene Bolton and Helen Jean Bolton, both of Owensboro; and her nieces and nephews.

Family visitation and services will be private at Glenn Funeral Home.

Clara Brown Balog

SUN CITY, Ariz. - Clara Brown Balog, 80, of Sun City died Nov. 21, 2001. She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Calhoun to the late Athanasius Brown and Virginia Brown Rogers. Her two sisters, Mary Sue Pruyear and Jane Glenn, are also buried in the Calhoun cemetery.

Her husband, John Edward Balog, 90, died May 21, 2005. He was born May 14, 1915, in Arnold City, Pa., to the late Michael and Suzanna Balog.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Michael and Laurie Balog of Glendale, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Emily Clara Joan Balog and John Michael Edward Balog, both at home.

Graveside services for Clara Brown and John Edward Balog will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Calhoun cemetery, with Father Pike Powell officiating. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, is handling the funeral arrangements for the Balog Family.

Michael Balog is looking for reminiscences about his parents to share with his children. All past memories and stories would be greatly appreciated. His address is Michael Balog, 1613 Wabasso Way, Glendale, CA 91208.

Joseph Patrick Brady

Joseph Patrick Brady, 49, of Owensboro died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at his home. He was born on Dec. 29, 1955, to Thomas Edward and Roselie Beirne Brady in Daviess County. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward Brady, who died on Jan. 2, 1987.

Survivors include his mother, Roselie Brady of Owensboro; two brothers, Thomas B. Brady of Frisco, Texas, and Edward M. Brady and his wife, Linda, of Paris; two sisters, Teresa McKinley and her husband, Joey, of Owensboro and Patricia Devins and her husband, Jerry, of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at St. Stephen Cathedral, with entombment at Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayers at 6 tonight. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Preservation for the Next Generation Fund, 614 Locust St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Adrian C. Dame

Adrian C. Dame, 75, of 320 Dame Road, Utica, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at a daughter's home in Utica. Adrian C. Nash was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Whitesville to the late Grover C. and Susan Wilson Nash and was later married to Woodford Ree Dame. Adrian was a homemaker and a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church in Utica. She enjoyed playing the piano, guitar and fiddle. She also enjoyed painting, sewing and her favorite time of the year was Halloween. Her husband, Woodford Ree "Woody" Dame, died July 19, 1997. Adrian was also preceded in death by a grandson, Johnathon Dale Dame, who died Nov. 13, 1997.

Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Steve and Linda Dame of Utica and Mark Dame and Kathy of Windy Hollow; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carla Duncan of Utica and Glenda Sue and James Horton of Utica; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Dame Family from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at Muster's in Calhoun.

The Dame family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Muster's in Calhoun.

Mary Rose Clark Hayden

Mary Rose Clark Hayden, 79, of 2605 Reid Road, Owensboro, died Aug. 31, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System after a brief battle with leukemia. Born in Mosleyville on March 1, 1926, to Robert L. and Theresa Bumm Clark, she was a homemaker, a loving mother and very devout Catholic. She was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she played the organ regularly for 40 years, participated on the parish council and school board, organized a funeral choir and stocked holy water for use by parishioners. She was an avid bridge player. Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her husband, William Gerald Hayden Sr., in 1992.

Survivors include four sons, Jerry (Sherri) Hayden of Calhoun, Bob (Tammy) Hayden of Philpot, George (Belinda) Hayden of Madisonville and Jack (Nikki) Hayden of Philpot; four daughters, Carol (Tom) Payne of Owensboro, Joan (Martin) Hayden of Knottsville, Patty (Denny) Ward of Richmond, Va., and Becky (John) Sowders of Louisville; 23 grandchildren, Jeff (Christy), Ben, Patrick (Julie) and Josh Payne, David and Daniel Hayden, Brandy, Christy and Kevin Hayden, Meghan (Martin) Ho, Paul and Stuart Ward, Alison, Amy Lou and Kyle Hayden, Sarah and Savannah Hayden, Hayden, Will and Jack Sowders, Melissa, Jonathan and Jeremy Hayden; three step-grandchildren, Khristy (Jeff) King and Marty and Tim Hayden; two great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alexis and an expected great-grandson, Payne; three stepgreat-grandchildren, T.J. Hayden and Katie and Rebecca King; two brothers, Sylvester Joseph Clark and Bernard Joseph Clark, both of Owensboro; and two sisters, Mary Magdalene Clark Morris and Ann Theresa Clark Hardesty, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with burial in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation is after noon today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 7 tonight. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Pius X Catholic Schools Tuition Assistance Fund, 3512 E. Sixth St., Owensboro, KY 42303. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Kody Lee Radloff

Kody Lee Radloff, 13, of 3480 Old Mill Lane, Owensboro, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at home. He was born on March 7, 1992, in Elgin, Ill. He was a seventh-grader at Daviess County Middle School. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, hunting, riding four-wheelers, shooting guns and picking on his brother. He was preceded in death by a brother, Taz Radloff, on June 15, 1998; by his father, Brit Radloff, on Aug. 20, 1998; and by his maternal great-grandfather, Joseph Etherton..

Survivors include his mother, Nancy Etherton; a brother, Jazmen Radloff, at home; maternal grandparents, Jim and Virginia Etherton of Owensboro; paternal grandparents, Howard and Carol Radloff of Hot Springs, Ark., and Judy Radloff of Wheaton, Wis.; maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Diebolt of Elgin; his uncle and aunt, Jay and Stacie Etherton; and two cousins, Nick and Lexis.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Visitation is from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Children's Heart Transplant Program, Children's Hospital Foundation, Department 86140, P.O. Louella Sheridan Wroe

FORDSVILLE - Louella Sheridan Wroe, 96, of Reynolds Station went home to be with Jesus on Aug. 31, 2005. She was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Caldwell County to the late Frank and Nora DeBoe Sheridan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wroe; her sons, Milton C. (Edna) Wroe, George (Mary, surviving) Wroe, Kenneth Wroe Jr. and Walter T. Wroe; her daughters, Elton Wroe Chancellor and Dorothy Stone; her grandchildren, Edna Hecox, Robert Doughty II, and George Wroe II; two sisters, Etta Dale Sheridan and Vera (Richmond) Childress; and her brother, Earl (Estelle) Sheridan.

She was a member of the Fordsville Church of God of Prophecy, where she played the piano for more than 20 years and later the bass guitar. She was always faithful in church attendance and dedication to God who was the focus of her life. She also loved to travel and did so frequently.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathryn (Neville) Green of Reynolds Station and Janet Wroe (Robert, deceased) Doughty of Tucson, Ariz.; a foster daughter, Donna (Gary) Mattison of Bend, Ore.; two nieces, Delores (Logan) Kolle of Fordsville and Doris Sheridan of northern Indiana; grandchildren, Beth (Terry) Hudspeth (Hunter and Katlyn) of Centertown, Jill (David) Love (Tosha, Kara, Olivia) and Vicki Sallee (Kendra and Jennifer) of Calhoun, Darrell Chancellor of Nashville, Byron Moxley of Sturgis, Sandra Wroe of Fort Worth, Texas, Sharon Jonas (Jimmy, Nicole, Casey) of Merrillville, Ind., Joyce Starkey, James (Cheryl) Wroe, John (Cindy) Wroe, of Akron, Ohio, Aaron Cartwright, Jared and Jennell Alexander, Christopher, Dillon and Janessa Mattison of Bend and Denise Stone of Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fordsville Church of God of Prophecy by the Rev. Wendell Sandefur. Burial will be in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation will be at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and after 1 p.m. at the church.

Phillip Byron 'Pudge' Allen

Phillip Byron "Pudge" Allen, 54, of Owensboro died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1950, in Daviess County to the late Nancy B. French and Cecil P. Allen. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Boilermakers Union. In his spare time he enjoyed NASCAR, horse races and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his sister, Nancy Parks.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Howard (and Tommy) of Hancock County, Penny Pendleton (and George M.) of Owensboro and April Allen (and Rodney Hays) of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Bradley Pendleton, Erica Pendleton, Christian Moseley, Alyssa Beaver, Sidney Moseley, Schuyler Pendleton and Journey Hays; a brother, Earl C. Allen of Owensboro; and a sister, Helen Bellamy of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice.
