Dilta B. LeBlanc

Loving person

Services for Mrs. Pierre D. LeBlanc, 76, the former Dilta Breaux, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:30-9 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Vidor, Texas, Mrs. LeBlanc died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Memorial Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Mrs. LeBlanc was a homemaker.

She is survived by her brother, Minos Breaux of New Iberia; her grandson, Shane LeBlanc of Vidor, Texas; two granddaughters, Macy Burton and Melanie LeBlanc, both of Vidor, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl B. LeBlanc of Vidor, Texas; and two sisters, Eula Judice of Loreauville, and Maud Viator of New Iberia.

Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre D. LeBlanc; her parents, Edrase and Anita David Breaux; her son, Glen LeBlanc; and three brothers, Edward, Jessie and Wilson Breaux.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Othan Richard

A devoted husband and father

ERATH - A memorial service for Othan Richard, 82, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Erath, with the Rev. Tom Voorhies officiating.

A native of Erath, Mr. Richard had been a resident of Lockport, La., for many years. He died Thursday at 10:35 a.m. at St. Ann's Hospital in Raceland.

A veteran, Mr. Richarad is survived by his wife, Irene Sellers; sons Oran, Baren and Tommy Richard; stepsons Rayward and Herbert Bourque; sister, Mae Mallet; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Theo and Albertine Richard, and his grandson Tory Richard. Memorials should be sent to the Veterans Administration.

David Barrilleaux Sr.

CHARENTON - Services for David Barrilleaux Sr., 54, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Crumley officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services with an 11 a.m. rosary at the church.

A native of Charenton and a resident of New Iberia since 1988, Mr. Barrilleaux died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Community Extended Care in Lafayette.

Mr. Barrilleaux was the coordinator of the Perpetual Help Singles Again Group in New Iberia and was a former member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church Choir in Berwick.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Armatta Barrilleaux of New Iberia; his mother, Sylvia Broussard Barrilleaux of Charenton; two sons, David Barrilleaux Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Alexandria, and Aldon J. Barrilleaux, and his wife, Valerie, of Calumet; one daughter, Paula B. Herrin, and her husband, Steve, of Alexandria; four stepsons, Terry Luzier, and his wife, Wendy, of Baton Rouge, Dreau Williams, and his wife, Nanette, of Delcambre, and Robert Williams and John Sargent, both of Lafayette; one brother, Mike Barrilleaux, and his wife, Carolyn, of New Iberia; two sisters, Janice Carline, and her husband, Ralph, of New Iberia, and Linda Daigle, and her husband, Mike, of Franklin; five grandchildren, four nephews and three nieces.

Mr. Barrilleaux was preceded in death by his father, Laness J. Barrilleaux.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

John G. Bonin

LAFAYETTE - Services for John Gayle Bonin, 59, were held at 10 a.m. today at La Chapelle de Martin & Castille with the Rev. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, officiating. Valerie Andrus, organist, sang "Amazing Grace," "Here I Am, Lord," "Be Not Afraid" and "The Lord's Prayer." Interment was in Lafayette Memorial Park cemetery.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Lafayette for the majority of his life, Mr. Bonin died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana.

Mr. Bonin was the son the late Otis Bonin, a native of Iberia Parish, and the former Anna Belle Myers, a native of St. Mary Parish. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic community.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Fred (Maxine) Bonin Johnson of Lafayette; and his stepbrother, Ronnie Arceneaux of Lafayette.

Mr. Bonin was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Rene Arceneaux; his stepsister, Mrs. Charlie (Judy) Truesdale; and his grandparents.

Capt. John Broussard Sr.

Loving husband and father

Graveside services for John E. Broussard Sr., 56, were held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at St. Edward's cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 1982.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Broussard died at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Broussard was a captain with the New Iberia Fire Department and had retired after 21 years of service. He was a former member of H.E.A.T., was an avid outdoor sportsman and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was married to Evelyn Rochon Broussard for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rochon Broussard of New Iberia; his mother, Eula Delahoussaye Broussard of New Iberia; three sons, Cory, Rusty and John Broussard II, all of New Iberia; one daughter, Seneca Broussard of New Iberia; three brothers, James "Tony" Broussard of Lake Charles, and Nolan and Paul Glenn Broussard, both of New Iberia; two sisters, Theresa Clay of Kendall, N.Y., and Loyce Pierson of New Iberia; three grandchildren and a large host of loving family members.

Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by his father, Alcide Broussard; his daughter, Yolanda Broussard; and his sister, Amy Broussard.

Pallbearers were Cory, James "Tony," Rusty and John Broussard II, A.C. Mark Dore and Capt. Charlie McBride.

David Funeral Home Downtown, Iberia Street of New Iberia, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret S. Broussard

Services for Mrs. Ralph J. Broussard, 62, the former Margaret Savoy, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Arnaud officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in Loreauville.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at her residence.

Mrs. Broussard was retired from Cleco with 30 years of service and was a member of the Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph J. Broussard of New Iberia; her mother, Marie Barras Savoy of New Iberia; four sons, Brian Broussard, and his wife, Suzanne Menard Broussard, and Mike Broussard, and his wife, Angie Norris Broussard, all of New Iberia, and Creig Broussard, and his wife, Karen Menard Broussard, and Mark Broussard, and his wife, Dodie Bayard Broussard, all of St. Martinville; one daughter, Kristie B. Huval, and her husband, Craig, of St. Martinville; two brothers, Lewis Savoy of Butte Larose, and Vincent Savoy Jr. of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Lorraine S. Cormier of Breaux Bridge; and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Savoy Sr.; and two nephews, Terry and Keith Cormier.

Pallbearers will be Craig Huval, Lewis and Kirk Savoy, Simon Cormier, and Jimmy and Stuart Mire.

Gladys D. Hulin

Services for Gladys Duhon Hulin, 78, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Leroy and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hulin died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Plaquemine Caring Nursing Home in Plaquemine.

Mrs. Hulin was the owner of Gladys Grocery in New Iberia for 35 years and Gladys Drive-In for six years.

She is survived by her son, Paul Hulin of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, Pauletta Smith of San Diego, Calif., Keith Hulin of Washington, Jude and Condry Guilbeau, and Angelique Hulin, all of New Iberia, Kirk Guilbeau of St. Martinville, and Audra and Ivanette Guilbeau, both of Metairie; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hulin was preceded in death by her parents, Elier and Ada Schexnayder Duhon; her daughter, Barbara Guilbeau; and her brother, Percy Duhon.

Roy J. Landry

Services for Roy Joseph Landry, 77, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Steve LeBlanc and Deacon Ken Waguespack officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Landry died at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Landry worked for LeBlanc and Broussard for more than 30 years. He had a love for life, people and music and always had a kind word for all. He will be missed along with the smile he always wore.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Mae Fremin Landry of New Iberia; his son, Harold Landry, and his wife, Mildred Viator Landry, of New Iberia; two daughters, Anna Belle Landry Bayard, and her husband, Gerald, and Belinda Landry Hebert, all of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Segura, Rhonda Landry, Melissa Hill, Phyllis Hebert, Ernie Romero, Phil Bayard, and Monica, Kevin, Devin and Glenn Hebert Jr., all of New Iberia; 12 great-grandchildren, Seth and Scott Segura, Tyler Khamphilavong, Kenneth Paul Hill, Staci, Kristi, Trey, Grant, Jordan and Cole Hebert, and Brandon and Renee Romero; two sisters, his twin sister, Rena Landry, and Lou Anna Migues, both of New Iberia; two very special friends, Ralph Schaubert Sr. and Francis "B" Suire; and several godchildren.

Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his parents, Adlar and Elise Fitch Landry; and his sister, Adrienne Fremin.

Pallbearers will be Kevin, Devin and Glenn Hebert Jr., and Ernie Romero, his grandsons, and Shelly Hill and Norris Hebert.

Vernette A. Segura

Beloved mother, grandmother

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Vernette Armentor Segura, 82, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Thevis and Rev. Thomas Edapaddy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m.today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Burke and a resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Segura died at 12:17 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Mrs. Segura was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Thibodeaux/Pellerin Unit 133, the Catholic Daughters Court 1401 Our Lady of Good Counsel in Loreauville and the Ambassadors for Christ Prayer Group.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bret (Elaine) Barras of Loreauville, Mrs. Vaughn (Doris) Johnson of Tehachapi, Calif., and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Rogers of New Iberia; four brothers, Donald Armentor, and his wife, June, Lloyd Armentor, and his wife, Annie, and Sim Armentor, and his wife, Elsie, all of Coteau, and Simon Armentor, and his wife, Joyce, of New Iberia; four sisters, Mrs. Dallas (Nola) Bodin and Mrs. Francis (Lilly) Hammons, both of New Iberia, and Mrs. Walter (Lena) Fitch and Mrs. Gerald (Edith) Meyers, both of Jeanerette; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Segura was preceded in death by her husband, Landis A. Segura; her parents, Laurent and Eunice Fremin Armentor; her son, Paul R. Segura; four brothers, Allen, Fulton, Perfice and Rene Armentor; and her sister, Solonge LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Donald, Lloyd, Sim, Simon and Allen Armentor Jr., and Jackie Segura.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bret Barras, Seneca Bouton, Vaughn Johnson, Leroy Lucas, Donald and Kevin Rogers, Jim Semar and Chad Viator.

Loretta T. Dupuy

Loving sister and friend

Services for Loretta Theresa Dupuy, 73, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at David Funeral Home Chapel North, Trotter Street, with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Miss Dupuy died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Consolata Nursing Home.

Miss Dupuy was a Southern Bell operator.

She is survived by two brothers, Lionel P. Dupuy, and his wife, Elaine, of New Iberia, and Raymond Dupuy, and his wife, Betty, of Stuart, Fla.; one sister, Alice D. Hughes of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miss Dupuy was preceded in death by her parents, James Lawrence and Antionette Hugonin Dupuy; and three sisters, Vernice Dupuy, Cordelle Fox and Mildred Hebert.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Ann F. Valliere

CATAHOULA - Services for Ann F. Valliere, 48, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Catholic Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Dion Hall, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs. Valliere died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at her residence.

May T. Hollier

DELCAMBRE - Services for Mrs. Lennis Hollier, 76, the former May Trahan, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Entombment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. today until services on Thursday with an 8 p.m. rosary today at Evangeline Funeral Home in Delcambre.

A native of Abbeville and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Hollier died at 6:09 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at her son's home in Erath.

Mrs. Hollier is survived by three sons, Donald J. Hollier and James J. Norman, both of New Iberia, and Dennis J. Hollier of Erath; one daughter, Sandy Hollier Duplantis of Erath; a brother, E.T. Trahan of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennis Hollier; her mother Edith Trahan; a son, Julius Joseph Hollier; and a granddaughter, Julia Norman.

Pallbearers will be Donald J. and Dennis J. Hollier, James J. Norman, Earl J. and Anthony Duplantis, and Isaac Laviolette.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donovan and Damian Hollier, and Odresse (Bill) Romero.
