FRANKLIN - Services for Annette Carrier, 39, will be at 1 p.m. today at Ibert's Chapel in Franklin.

Visitation was today from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A resident of Opelousas, Ms. Carrier died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie S. DeMario

Services for Mrs. Frank DeMario, 88, the former Marjorie Sanders, were held at 10 a.m. today at David Funeral Home Chapel North, Trotter Street, with the Rev. Mario Romero officiating. Entombment was in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.

A native of Vicksburg, Miss., a former resident of New York for 50 years, a former resident of New Iberia from 1987-99, and a resident of Eunice until her death, Mrs. DeMario died at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Eunice Community Medical Center in Eunice.

Mrs. DeMario was employed with a New York restaurant for many years.

She is survived by Leslie Chambers, and her husband, Jason, Doris "Dot" Lissard, Eric Lissard, and his wife, Jerri-Ann, and Joey Lissard, and his wife, Susan, all of New Iberia, Scott Lissard of Lafayette, and Steve Lissard, and his wife, Maggie, of Eunice.

Mrs. DeMario was preceded in death by her husband, Frank DeMario; her parents, James L. and Maryetta Brewer Sanders; her son, Christopher "Sonny" DeMario; one brother and four sisters.

Pallbearers were Eric, Joey, Scott and Steve Lissard.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of arrangements.

Edith L. Freeman

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Edith Landry Freeman, 90, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Freeman died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Mrs. Freeman was a former circulation manager for The Daily Iberian newspaper.

She is survived by her son, Joseph B. Freeman Jr., and his wife, Mabel, of Lafayette; three daughters, Shirlene Haddox, and her husband, Larry, and Faye Thibodeaux, and her husband, Rodney, all of New Iberia, and Betty F. Broussard of St. Martinville; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "CC" Baron Freeman Sr.; her parents, Joseph and Emerite Hebert Landry; her son, Ronald Freeman; her brother, Elmo Landry Sr.; her sister, Denise Coulter; her infant granddaughters, Shirlene and Sandie Freeman; and her son-in-law, Elridge Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Broussard, Joseph Baron Freeman III, Terry Paul and Barkley Bodin, Jason Freeman, and Patrick and Jeffrey Thibodeaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Blake Douet, Justin Dugas, Heath Broussard and Sy Bodin.

Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Phouack Philayvanh

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Phouack Philayvanh, 63, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville which will reopen Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Philayvanh died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at his residence.

Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Nell J. Vigne

Homemaker

FOUR CORNERS - Services for Ms. Barbara Nell Jordan Vigne, 46, the former Barbara Nell Jordan, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Cormier officiating. Interment will be in St. John cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church.

A native of Four Corners and resident of Houston for many years, Mrs. Vigne died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at her home in Opelousas.

She was a homemaker.

Ms. Vigne is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sara Hines and Junius Oakley of Opelousas; two sons, Kristan and Talbot Jordan of Houston; three daughters, Shenithia, Tara and Antoinette Vigne, all of Houston; two brothers Mckinley Jordan of Four Corners and Harry Jordan of Houston; a stepbrother, Craig Colbert of Beaumont, Texas; two sisters, Gloria Jordan of Four Corners and Lou Ida Jordan of Carencro; six stepsisters, Wanda Gibson of Ashton, Jacqueline C. Botte of Lafayette, Judy Colbert of Atlanta, and Tammy, Joyce and Patricia Oakley, all of Opelousas; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Edward Jordan Sr.; her step-mother, Dorothy A. Jordan; three brothers and one sister.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Earline James

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Earline James, 56, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Interment will be in Queen of Peace cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen from 7 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.

She died on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.

Robert J. Landry

Services for Robert Joseph Landry, 67, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Conley Bertrand officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary service, at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Landry died at 10:44 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000 in a New Iberia hospital.

Mr. Landry was a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ludy Louviere Landry of New Iberia; one brother, Leroy Landry of New Iberia; two nieces, Samantha A. Deslatte and Monica Landry, both of New Iberia, and two nephews, Christopher Landry of Duson and James Landry Jr.

Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his father, Marcuis Landry; one brother, James Landry Sr.; one niece, Terry Landry, and one nephew, Harvey Landry.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Landry, James Landry Jr., Christopher Landry, Michael Peters, Cody Sauceda and Lou Sauceda.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Peltier Sr.

Loving husband and father

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Clarence "Sook" P. Peltier Sr., 83, will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Interment will be in All Saints cemetery.

Visitation began Saturday, including a rosary service, and will resume at 9 a.m. today at David Funeral Home of Loreauville.

A native of St. Martin Parish and a resident of Loreauville, Mr. Peltier died at 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.

He retired after more than 20 years with CF&F as a tank builder, and loved spending time with his family, working with his animals and listening to French music. He had a passion for hunting dogs. He also was an avid Braves fan and loved wrestling.

Mr. Peltier is survived by his wife, Maydelle Fredrick Peltier of Loreauville; two sons, Rogers J. Peltier of Loreauville and Clarence P. Peltier Jr. of Houston, and two grandsons, Christopher P. Peltier and his wife Lori and Randall C. Peltier and his wife Sherri, all of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Bertha Naquin Peltier; two brothers, Charles and Edgar Peltier, and two sisters, Enola Broussard and Beulah Peltier.

Pallbearers will be Louis Broussard, Chris Peltier, Kernis Peltier, Randall Peltier, Ron Peltier and Russell Peltier. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleve Fredrick, Allen Peltier and Sterling Peltier.

Dudley Muncy

Loving husband and father

Services for Dudley Muncy, 87, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at David Funeral Home Chapel North, Trotter Street, with the Rev. Steve Horn officiating. Entombment will be in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 2:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Corsicana, Texas, and a resident of New Iberia for the past 41 years, Mr. Muncy died at 2:28 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Muncy retired with Shell Oil Co. as a drilling foreman after 36 years of service. He then established a consulting firm which he operated for 12 years prior to his final retirement. In past years, Mr. Muncy was an active member of the Jeanerette First Baptist Church and then, after moving to New Iberia, the Highland Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge 255 for 51 years.

He is survived by his son, Donald D. Muncy of New Iberia; his daughter, Gloria Faye Muncy Sparks of Haughton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Muncy was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Reed Muncy; his parents, Eukie and Millie Flowers Muncy; two brothers, Glenn and Marvin Muncy; two sisters, Mae Powell and Opal Robertson; and his grandson, Dudley James Muncy.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Highland Baptist Church.

Horace P. Comeaux

Loving husband and father

LYDIA - Services for Horace P. Comeaux, 77, will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Gueydan and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Comeaux died at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Comeaux was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He retired from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Department after 25 years as chief of detective sand served under the Wattigny administration. He was employed by the St. Martinville Sheriff's Office for a short period and was also a private investigator. Mr. Comeaux was the best grandfather and loved having his grandchildren and children around him.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hebert Comeaux of Jeanerette; his son, Patrick P. Landry, and his wife, Kristi, of New Iberia; his daughter, Karen Menard of Erath; six grandchildren, Savannah L., Chase, Whitnie and Britnie Menard, all of Erath, and Conner P. and Cooper Mills Landry, both of New Iberia; his brother, Willie Comeaux, and his wife, Marie, of New Iberia; two sisters, Avie Savoie, and her husband, Ossie, of New Iberia, and Gertrude Johnson of Lake Charles; and his sister-in-law, Lou Comeaux of Youngsville.

Mr. Comeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Aminthe Judice Comeaux; three brothers, Allen "OK," Murphy and Durphy Comeaux; and two sisters, Thelma Romero and Agnes Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Alfred Landry, Eric "Peanut," Mike, Kirk and Mark Comeaux, A.J. LaBiche and Trent Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Landry, Willie Comeaux and Johnny Hebert.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Timothy Courtois II

Services for Timothy Jude "Timmy" Courtois II, 20, will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Family cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Timmy died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000.

Our son Timmy often told us that we should live life to the fullest. He was able to touch many people through his free-spirited nature, living life for each day that it was. His willingness to trust brought him the gift of never worrying about the future.

He was blessed to be part of a large, loving family. He is the son of Timmy and Angela Courtois, and his siblings are Kami, Joshua and Hollie. His maternal grandparents are Roland and Wilda Hebert.

Timmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold Sr. and Mary Nell Courtois.

He will be sadly missed by his Maw Maw Millie, his grandparents, and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. His friends, who were very important to him, will remember him for his unselfishness and ability to make them laugh.

The words, "I'm home," which were Timmy's last words to his family, whisper sweetly in their hearts, as they are assured that he is "truly home."

Pallbearers will be Andy Griffin, Andy Russo, Jerico Jeansonne, Joey Breaux, Michael Hebert, Dale and Jace Dugas, and Cye Breaux.

Leone B. Faucheux

FRANKLIN - Services for Leone Bourgeois Faucheux, 90, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Assumption.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Franklin, Mrs. Faucheux died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Velma M. Dugas

Services are pending for Velma M. Dugas, 81, who died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Consolata Nursing Home.
