JOHN D. RAIFORD JR.
PONCHATOULA -- Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 10 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, for John "Junior" Daniel Raiford Jr.
Raiford, 81, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
He was a native of Lee's Landing, a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula, and a past member of the Kiwanis Club in Ponchatoula.
His wife, Elaine Mixon Raiford; his parents, John D. Raiford Sr. and Ella Edwards Raiford; two brothers, Charles and Grover Raiford; and three sisters, Violet Johnson , Rubeye Raiford and Barbara "B.D." Fletcher, all survive him.
Further visitation will be Friday morning from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 2:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
MINNIE BLACKBURN ROSS
BATON ROUGE -- Minnie Blackburn Ross, 43, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Acadiana Rehabilitation Center.
A Kentwood native, she is survived by her husband, Claude Ross of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Lakisha Blackburn of Kentwood; two brothers, David Lee and Winder Blackburn, both of Kentwood; her father, Edward Blackburn of Kentwood; her grandmother, Leola Blackburn; her grandfather, Bellmer Blackburn; and two grandchildren.
Her mother, Emma M. Blackburn; and two brothers, Charlie Holden and Lionell Blackburn, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Chapel Methodist Church, Kentwood, followed by burial at the church cemetery.

TICKFAW -- Arrangements are incomplete for Dwayne Swerer, 42, who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident.

FRANCES COLLEEN VINING THAMES
AMITE -- Frances Colleen Vining Thames, 70, died today, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her children, Marie Thames Rainey of Kentwood, Gretchen Thames Wilcox of Slidell, Karen Thames Wallace, Timmy Thames, Trisha Thames and Sally Thames Hartman, all of Amite; two sisters, Joy Kathleen Laiche of Kentwood and Ruth Vining White of Loranger; two brothers, James "Billy" Vining of Colorado and Johnny Vining of Arkansas; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thames; one son, Jimmy Thames; her parents, the Rev. Gordon Vining Sr. and Nettie Vining; and two sisters, Amelia Ehrlich and Sadie Parker.
The funeral will be Friday at Chappapeela Baptist Church, Amite, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Darryl Miller will officiate.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.

CHASSIE ANN WARD
Chassie Ann Ward, 26, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident.

PONCHATOULA -- Ariel Victoria Miller, 14, died today, Nov. 12, 2004, at Children's Midical Center in New Orleans.
She was a freshman at Ponchaotula High School.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond.
KENNETH THOMAS PATTERSON SR.
SPRINGFIELD -- Kenneth Thomas Patterson Sr., 83, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center.
He was a native of Springfield, an Army veteran and a member of the Woodland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Wall Patterson; two sons, Kenneth "Tommy" Patterson of Springfield and Kerry Thompson Patterson of Dallas; a daughter, Betty Joyce Patterson of Springfield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Bradley Patterson and Simion Roe Patterson; a daughter, Florence Marie Patterson Coats; six brothers, Alex, Ed, Calvin, George, Bill and Jessie Patterson; two sisters, Amelia Barnham and Zillie Breeland.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home of Ponchatoula tonight from 6 to 9 and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Ray Warwick conducts the funeral at 9. Burial will be in Carter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

EUNICE GAUBERT ROBERT
LULING -- Eunice Gaubert Robert, 88, a native of Luling, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 .
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence F. Robert Sr.; two sons, Lawrence F. Robert Jr. and Ralph J. Robert Sr.; a daughter, Elaine St. Pierre; a brother, Irby Gaubert; two sisters, Ethel Keller and Leah Rae Cantrelle; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Ambrose and Leah Zeringue Gaubert; five brothers, Lawrence, Emmerson, Norman, Clifford and Dennis Gaubert; and a sister, Agnes Adams, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Louisiana Alzheimer's Association or River Region Hospice.

CHASSIE ANN WARD
Chassie Ann Ward, 26, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 as the result of an automobile accident. She was an employee of Don's Seafood in Hammond and a member of Harvest World Outreach Ministries.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Lori Monteleone Dardis and John Dardis of Hammond; her father and stepmother, Philip Edward and Doreen Ward of Loranger; a son, Dyland Ray Dunaway of Independence; a sister, Sara Cambre Ward of Hammond; two stepsisters, Nancy Dardis of Hammond and Jaclyn Scuderi of Loranger; two stepbrothers, L.J. Scuderi of Independence and Joshua Scuderi of Loranger; and her grandmother, Margie Monteleone of Hammond.
Her stepbrother, Matthew Z. Dardis; and grandparents, Carl J. Monteleone, Merline "Buck" Ward and Marguerite "Tookey" Ward, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Harvest World Outreach Ministries Saturday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery.

GENEVA GARRIGA GORDON
BILOXI, MISS. -- Geneva Garriga Gordon, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in Gulfport.
A native and lifelong resident of Harrison County, she was a homemaker and attended Gulf Coast Worship Center in Long Beach, Miss.
She is survived by a son, Darrin Joseph Gordon; a daughter, Kristie Gronkoski of Biloxi; three brothers, Troy Garriga of Biloxi and Tommy Ray and Willie Garriga, both of Gulfport; and two sisters, Doris Daniels and Gayle Price, both of Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben "B. F." Gordon; her parents, Asa Joseph and Beatrice Ladner Garriga; five brothers, David, Lamar, Roman, Eddie and Asa Garriga; and two sisters, Gloria Melling and Loretta Lynn.
The funeral was Saturday at Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport.
JULIA MAE OCHSNER FITZGERALD
Julia Mae Ochsner Fitzgerald, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Georgia Medical College in Augusta, Ga.
A Robert native, Fitzgerald was a member of First Christian Church of Hammond.
She is survived by six daughters, Veronica Fitzgerald- Jones of Knoxville, Tenn., Betty Carroll of Germantown, Tenn., Johnnie Lynn Fitzgerald of Denham Springs, Janice Fitzgerald-Hughie of Hammond and Ellen Pias of Hammond; a sister Vesta McMorris of Hammond; a brother Leo Ochsner of Seattle; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Fitzgerald; a brother Austin W. Ochsner; and a sister Pauline Ochsner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Geisler Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will also be held at First Christian Church of Hammond from 11 a.m. Monday until the funeral at 1 p.m.
interment will be at Pilgrim Rest in Covington.
