CLAUDE BLANCHARD

Claude Blanchard, 89, died on June 22, 2007 at University Retirement Community in Davis, CA after a prolonged illness.

Claude was born September 6, 1917 to Dozelia and Felecie Blanchard in Loreauville.

He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 21, and fought in WWII and the Korean War while serving with the 2nd Marine Division; he retired from the Marine Corps in 1960 after 20 years of service. He was last stationed in Camp Pendleton and there he continued working through Civil Service as an electronics technician until his retirement in the early 1980s. He and his wife, Emily, settled and raised their daughters in Fallbrook, living there for 52 years.

Claude was a lifelong learner. After taking night courses for many years, he earned an Associate Degree from Palomar College in 1977. He also enjoyed taking writing courses and left behind a treasure trove of stories, many of them depicting his boyhood days in Louisiana .

Claude was an avid gardener; though he grew a variety of fruits and vegetables, he had a special affinity for growing roses. Claude also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds that visited his yard.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emily; his sisters, Yola and Armide; and his brother, Utcher.

He is survived by his sister, Eunice Hebert; his four daughters, Karen Ybarra of Mission Viejo, CA, Renee Blanchard of Orinda, CA, Cynthia Bevc of Davis, CA and Myra Blanchard of Davis, CA; and his son, Michael Regan of Phoenix, AZ; as well as five grandchildren, Aaron and Elise Ybarra, Ian and Emilyn Kowaleski and Gabriel Regan.

A visitation at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service to be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fallbrook, CA on Tuesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. A burial service and reception will immediately follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside, CA.

For those wishing to make a donation in Claude’s memory, the family suggests The Audubon Society or their local Hospice.

Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. 760-754-6600.

CHARLES BOOKER JR.

Charles "Chuck" Booker Jr., 35, a resident of Morgan City and native of Baton Rouge, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at 11:30 p.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Visiting will be held Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge.

Visiting will continue Thursday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church until Mass of Christian Burial, at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerald Burns. interment will follow in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survivors include his wife, Barkley Booker; mother and stepfather, Carol and Gary Gauthreaux of Baton Rouge; father and stepmother, Charles "Chuck Sr." and Carolyn Booker of Baton Rouge; maternal grandmother, Heloise Rivere of Bayou Corne, La.; paternal grandmother, Virginia Rose Booker of Baton Rouge; maternal stepgrandfather, Richard Bailey of Newark, Delaware; two stepdaughters, Tayah and Ella Ratcliff; one sister, Emily Gauthreaux of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Jeremy Booker of Hermosa Beach, California, Henry Gauthreaux of Austin, Texas and Brad Gauthreaux of Baton Rouge; aunts, uncles of numerous cousins; and his best friend his dog, Budah.

Mr. Booker was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Booker Sr.; maternal stepgrandmother, Nadine Bailey; maternal stepgrandfather, Henry A. Gauthreaux.

He was employed by A.J. Dohmann Chevrolet in Berwick and was member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at MidSouth Bank in memory of Charles "Chuck" Booker Jr.

RANDOLPH BOUDREAUX

Mr. Randolph J. Boudreaux, 85, a native of Lockport and a resident of Franklin for 79 years, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at his residence.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Cross Roads Tabernacle in Jeanerette.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 3 p.m., at the Cross Roads Tabernacle, with Pastor Thomas Orlando officiating the services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ovena Guillotte Boudreaux; two sons, Randy D. Boudreaux and his wife, Terri, of Franklin; and Roger Dale Sisk and his wife, Lucy, of New Iberia; one stepson, Edward Racca Jr. and his wife, Charlene, of Lake Charles; one sister, Leonise B. Cowart of Glencoe; and six grandchildren, Jason P. Boudreaux of Lafayette, Lee Sisk of New Iberia, Bobby Sisk of Youngsville, Becky Bolso of Erath, Timothy Racca of Lake Charles and Angie Brown of Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley Boudreaux; his mother, Angelle Kmoblock Boudreaux; one grandson, Randy Reese Boudreaux; four brothers; and three sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

WILBERT BOUDREAUX

Mr. Wilbert J. Boudreaux, 65, a native of Patterson and lifelong resident of Franklin, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, June 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert's in Franklin, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visitation will resume Wednesday, June 13, at 8 a.m. at the Church of Assumption until time of services.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Assumption, with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating the services. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mr. Wilbert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janelle Louviere Boudreaux of Franklin; two daughters, Connie Choate and her husband, Ray, of Abbeville and Marcia Ferguson and her husband, Jeff, of Milton, TN; two brothers, Darrell Boudreaux and his wife, Linda, and Gary Boudreaux and his wife, Jean, all of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Carolyn Dupre' and her husband, Glen, and Patsy Smith, and her husband, Wayne, all of Franklin; five grandchildren, Brett Boudreaux of Morgan City, Desiree Choate of Abbeville, Krystal Ferguson of Florida, Kristopher Ferguson of Tennessee and Brittany Ferguson of Tennessee; and two great grandchildren, Madylynn and Hayden Ferguson, both of Tennessee; and his mother in law, Lillie Louviere, who he was devoted to. He was also known as Uncle Woo to his many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert A. Boudreaux and Edith Orgeron Boudreaux; one brother, Anthony Boudreaux; and one sister, Edith Bourliea.

Mr. Boudreaux was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend. He retired from McDermott Shipyard after 33 years of service, and returned to work at Bollinger Shipyard until he retired in January of 2007. He was a Life Member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 63 and was the first ever honorary member of the VFW Post 4201. Mr. Boudreaux was a 4th degree knight and member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved traveling, fishing and gardening. Mr. Boudreaux loved to help others in need. He will be missed by all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

BILLIE BOUDREAUX

Billie Hardee Boudreaux, 76, a native of Campti and resident of Franklin, Passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mrs. Boudreaux is survived by her daughter, Cheryl B. LaVerne and her husband, Lonny, both of Franklin; one grandson, Christian John LaVerne of Franklin; and her companion, Darrell Uze, of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Johnny L. Boudreaux; her infant son, John Boudreaux; her daughter, Paula Gayle Boudreaux; her parents, Joe Hardee and Minnie Kelly Hardee; and three sisters, Betty Abel, Annette Self and Joy Myers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday, July 31, at the Church of Assumption, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a rosary being prayed at 10 a.m. by Murray Duval.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Assumption. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin. Father Michael Russo will officiate the Mass and will be assisted by Deacon Harry Darce.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main St. in Franklin.

GENEVIEVE BOURQUE

Genevieve "Gen" Eastwood Bourque, 79, a native of Massachusetts and long time resident of Franklin, died suddenly Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visitation will resume Wednesday, May 7 at Ibert’s from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption, with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mrs. Bourque moved to Franklin to wed her husband of 53 years, Joseph Allen Bourque on December 7, 1952. Together they were blessed with three daughters, Cindy B. Newton and her husband, Marion, of Baldwin; Debbie B. Taylor and her husband, Sherman, of New Iberia; and Michelle B. Frederick and her husband, Brad, of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Brady Newton and his wife, Brooke; Megan Newton, Justin Taylor , Matthew Taylor , Emily Taylor , Courtney Frederick, Colleen Frederick; one great grandchild, Brody Newton; and her sister, Irene Price of Fall River, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Bourque was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed countless hours with her grandchildren and was a loving aunt to all of her many nieces and nephews. She retired from her job as telephone operator to raise her family and later returned to work as a bookkeeper at St. Mary Hardware, where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of the Court Assumption Catholic Daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Bourque; parents, Jane and Edward Eastwood; and three brothers, James Eastwood, Johnny Eastwood and Harold Eastwood.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

MICHAEL BOUTTE SR.

Michael A. Boutte Sr., 61, a native of Franklin and a resident of Lafayette since 1990, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at 5:30 a.m., at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Memorial visitations will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. at the church, with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating the Mass.

Mr. Boutte is survived by his wife, Lynn Talbot Boutte of Lafayette; three sons, Michael A. Boutte Jr. of Tampa, Florida; Bryant Boutte and his wife, Paula, of Tampa, Florida; and Scott Boutte of Tampa, Florida; one stepson, Jack B. Jones of Gonzales; one stepdaughter, Stacy L. Jones of Gonzales; one brother, Larry Boutte of Baldwin; two sisters, Lucille Delahoussaye of Gretna and Beryl Soprano of Charenton; five grandchildren, Taryn Boutte, Bryce Boudreaux, Tanner Borskey, Joi Lynn Borskey and Taylor Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Corine Uze Boutte; and one brother, Clarence Boutte.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

BETTY JEAN BOWLES

Mrs. Betty Jean Francis Bowles, 67, a resident of Manhattan, New York and native of Glencoe, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at 2:12 p.m., at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan following a short illness.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Bowles of Manhattan; one son, Reggie Wayne Bowles of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Ms. Redonna Lynn Bowles of Bridgeton, New Jersey and Ms. Rosa Uylonda Bowles of Manhattan; one brother, Gerard Francis Sr. of Glencoe; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

The Rosary and funeral services will take place in New York on Friday, June 29.

On Tuesday, July 3, Mrs. Bowles will be buried in the St. Helen Cemetery on Hwy. 83 in Louisa. There will be a graveside viewing at 1:25 p.m. Deacon Jerry Bourg of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will office the interment Service.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge preparations.
