Jeffery Hebert Sr.

Loving father, grandfather and friend

Services for Jeffery "Jeff" John Hebert Sr., 69, will begin at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. Entombment will be in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services today at David Funeral Home with a rosary at 11 a.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Hebert died at 10:48 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Hebert was a 1953 graduate of New Iberia High School and was enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve and the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated fireman for the City of New Iberia for 26 years and retired in 1984 as captain. He was an avid golfer for many years and was an outstanding member at Sugar Oaks, and was devoted to his prayer group. There will be military graveside rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982.

He is survived by five children, Jody Hebert of Lafayette, Jill Hebert Suire of New Iberia, Jeffery J. Hebert Jr. of California, Jaci Hebert of Avery Island and Jami Hebert of New Iberia; four sisters, Martherine H. Etie of Nevada and Oneida "Palotsie" H. Baldwin, Geraldine "Dean" H. Greer and Juliet H. Migues, all of New Iberia; and nine grandchildren, Lauren Hensgens of Lafayette, Christian Hensgens of New Iberia, Erin Suire of New Iberia, Jordy Suire of New Iberia, Justin Hebert of Lafayette, and Ryan Segura, Lanie Segura, Jade Migues and Ani Migues, all of New Iberia.

Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his parents, Odelon and Elda Comeaux Hebert; and two brothers, Kenwood and Howard Hebert.

Pallbearers will be Howard Fridley, Bill Desormeaux Sr., Whiley Romero, Gerald Pellerin, Gerald Viator and Terry Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordy Suire, Ryan Segura and Christian Hensgens.

Memorial contributions may be made to any of his favorite charities, including St. Jude Children's Hospital, Salesian Missions, Father Flanagan's Boys Home, the Omaha Home for Boys, and the American Disabled Veterans.

Julius F. Migues

Loving husband, father and grandfather

A Mass for Julius "Jul" Frederick Migues, 85, will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre and the Rev. L.J. Freyou officiating. interment will be in Migues Cemetary in Delcambre.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at David Funeral Home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Migues died at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2003, at Iberia Medical Center.

He was employed by Morton Chemical as a painter for 33 years and was an Army veteran who served in World War II. Mr. Migues and his wife, Dolores, were married for 56 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982, serving as an honor guard. He was an avid gardener and sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and baking. He also enjoyed Cajun music and dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Darcey Migues of New Iberia; two sons, Kerry Migues of New Orleans and Reed Migues and his wife, Patricia, of New Iberia; a daughter, Yvette Migues of New Orleans; one sister, Mary Jane Lohr of New Iberia; three granddaughters, Yolanda Migues of New Orleans, Chanda Migues of Lafayette and Nerrisa Giron of Carencro; one grandson, Brock Migues of New Iberia; two great-grandsons, Rafael Barahona and Marco Barahona, both of New Orleans; and a special friend who was loved like a son, Felipe Rivera of New Orleans.

Mr. Migues was preceded in death by his father, Clement Migues; his mother, Alta Louviere Migues; a son, Lynn Migues; two sisters, Rose Sheppard and Irene Barron; three brothers, Lester, Curley and Russell Migues; and a step-mother, Linda Migues.

Pallbearers will be Reed and Brock Migues, George Glaubrecht, Joey and Oza Lopez and Bill Lohr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Felipe Rivera and Kerry Migues.

Eva G. Delcambre

Loving mother, sister and aunt

A Mass for Eva "Marie" Guilbeau Delcambre, 54, will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Higginbotham. interment will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary service, and from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at David Funeral Home.

A native of Broussard and a resident of Cade, Mrs. Delcambre died at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2003, at University Medical Center.

She was employed at Food and Fun as a cook for five years. She loved to clean house and go to the casino.

She is survived by one son, Kebby Delcambre of Cade; two brothers, Husville "Bubba" Guilbeau Jr. of Cade and Paul Duhon of St. Martinville; and two sisters, Frances D. Mendoza of Gonzales and Mae G. Pugh of Cade.

Mrs. Delcambre was preceded in death by her father, Husville Guilbeau Sr.; and her mother, Camille Duhon Guilbeau.

Pallbearers will be Husville "Bubba" and Cory Guilbeau, Kebby Delcambre, Paul Duhon, Dave Pugh and Beau Laviolette.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to defray funeral expenses.

Frank Schwab Jr.

A Mass for Frank Joseph Schwab Jr., 74, will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Langlois officiating. interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982 will conduct a ritual at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at David Funeral Home, as well as military graveside rites.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at David Funeral Home.

A native of La Feria, Texas , and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Schwab died at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2003, at Iberia Medical Center.

He was a production supervisor at Amoco Oil Company for 33 and a half years. He was a veteran of the Army and served in the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 4, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982, Woodmen of the World, Voiture Nationale Louisiana 313 and belonged to Pioneer Oil People. He was an usher and belonged to the Men's Vigil at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Romero Schwab of New Iberia; three daughters, Artie S. Fontane and Janet S. Larson and her husband, Raymond, all of New Iberia and Karen L. Schwab and her partner, Amy Gross, of Austin, Texas ; his former son-in-law, Benny Fontane of New Iberia; a sister, Lucille S. Gabriel of San Antonio, Texas ; four brothers, William "Bill" Schwab of San Antonio, Texas , Jerome "Jerry" Schwab of Marble Falls, Texas , Randolph "Randy" Schwab of Houston, Ronald "Ronnie" Schwab of Austin, Texas ; a grandson, Cpl. Raymond Larson Jr., stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., with the U.S. Marine Corps; three granddaughters, Natalie and Christina Fontane and Heather Larson, all of New Iberia.

Mr. Schwab was preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Schwab Sr.; his mother, Marie Wolf Schwab; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Schwab.

Pallbearers will be Bill, Jerry, Randy and Ronnie Schwab, Wilfred "Doc" Romero and Cpl. Lee Larson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Miller, Jacob Miller III, L.J. Breaux and Doug, Wayne, Dwayne, Kurt and Clark Romero.

Emanuel P. Bercegeay

LAFAYETTE - A memorial service for Emanuel Paul Bercegeay, 75, was conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers with the Rev. Mike Adams, pastor of Barnabas Catholic Church, officiating.

The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday.

A native of Charenton, Mr. Bercegeay died on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Melville Bercegeay and the former Nilla Gardner. He graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and completed his graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma , where he obtained a master's in petroleum engineering. He also received his doctorate degree from the University of Texas . He was a professor and the head of the petroleum engineering department for 17 and a half years. As the dean of University College at USL, he created many schools for the oil industry. He was the president and chairman of the board of directors for Beta Oil Company and Beta Operating, Inc. He was also founder and past president of Sand Control, which was sold to Baker Oil Tools. He was a member of the Blue Key Honorary Fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Fraternity, Petroleum Club of Lafayette, Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists, American Association of Petroleum Engineers and AIME. He will be remembered as a successful oilman, a patriot and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Heck Bercegeay; three daughters, Giselle B. Bernard of Chicago, Jeanne Frederic and her husband, Donnie, of Arkansas and Paula LeBlanc and her husband, Tommy, of West Virginia; one son, David S. Bercegeay of Lafayette; one sister, Anne Caffery and her husband, Patrick, of New Iberia; one brother, Leslie Bercegeay and his wife, Ethel, of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Cassandra and Austin Bernard, Nicole and Angelle Bercegeay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bercegeay was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David "Tish" Bercegeay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.

Henry Jackson Jr.

FRANKLIN - Services for Henry "Bam-Bam" Jackson Jr., 37, will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at Otis Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiating. interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Four Corners.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at Otis Mortuary Chapel.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia for many years, Mr. Jackson died at 2:56 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Alexander Jackson of New Iberia; one step-son, De'John Alexander of New Iberia; a daughter, Paige Jackson of New Iberia; four brothers, Llewelly Francis Sr. and Gavriell Jackson of Jeanerette and Jefferson Jackson and Duval Jackson Sr. of New Iberia; three sisters, Yvonne L. Jackson , Jennifer Jackson Willoughby and Ursula Jackson Washington , all of Jeanerette.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Ann Hoyler

LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Frances Ann Hoyler, 70, will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday at David Funeral Home Chapel.

A resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Hoyler died on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in a Lafayette hospital.
