Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Mae Bell were to be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 20, 2004, at Mt. Calm Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Old Castor Cemetery in Castor under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.

Edna Cox
Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Faye Kerlin Cox, 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating and Dr. Richard May assisting. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Oct. 20, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cox, a native of Jamestown and a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Oct. 18, in Arcadia. She was a retired clerk for West & Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Cox; daughter, Brenda Knippers; and her brother, Elgie Caskey.
She is survived by her sons, W.C. "Buddy" Knippers and wife Judy of Dry Prong, and Eddie Cox of Minden; daughter, Dianne Miller of Maryland; aunt, Ruby Robinette of Chandler, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Athalea Caskey of Jonesboro and Ruth Timmons of Minden; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Knippers, Spencer Deville, Ross Miller, Glen Nelson, Johnny Timmons and Richard Sanders.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Louise McKelroy
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Harvill Stewart McKelroy, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Doyline with the Rev. Tom Carlton officiating and the Rev. Bill Crider assisting. Burial will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Oct. 20, at the funeral home.
Mrs. McKelroy Passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, Oct. 18, at her home in Doyline. She was born Sept. 8, 1918. She was a retired employee of the Webster Parish School Board, having served as a school bus driver and as a school secretary at Doyline High School. She was very active in her church, First Baptist Church in Doyline, and she especially enjoyed painting the backdrops for various holiday celebrations at the church.
She enjoyed gardening, farming, fishing, riding her tractor and helping raise cattle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Turner Coleman Harvill and Lillie Goff Harvill; her son, Gary Thomas Stewart; her husband, G.S. McKelroy; her brother, Rex Harvill; and her three sisters, Elvie Harvill, Shirley Harvill Cobb and Stella Harvill Moore.
She is survived by her sons, William H. Stewart and James P. "Jimmy" Stewart and his wife Renee; grandchildren, Tara Stewart, Mark Stewart, Jamie Stewart and Ryan Stewart; stepsons, Rodney McKelroy and Colin McKelroy; several nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Myrtis Anders.
Memorials may be made in Louise's name to First Baptist Church in Doyline.

Charlotte Stanfield
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Ann Benton Stanfield, 62, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark., with Dr. Jeffrey C. Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery under the direction of P.K. Miller Mortuary in Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stanfield, a resident of Pine Bluff, Passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 22, 1942, in New Iberia, and raised in Minden, Mrs. Stanfield was the daughter of the late Rev. Willie Benton and Mrs. Gladys Minyon Benton.
She graduated from Webster High School in Minden, class of 1959, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in foreign languages from UM&N, now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She furthered her studies at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and earned her degree as a media specialist at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Committing 38 and a half years to public education, Mrs. Stanfield served as a French and English teacher prior to innovating the role of media specialist. She began her teaching career at Southeast High School as a college senior, integrated Dial Junior High School as a faculty member, and taught at Belair Junior High, prior to returning to Southeast Middle School. She was very passionate regarding educational issues, and was an active member of the National Education Association, Arkansas Education Association and the Pine Bluff Classroom Teacher's Association.
She was a longstanding member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served in various capacities including church library chairperson and member of the missionary ministry and supported the rebuilding of the church nursing ministry.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Glenn Stanfield Jr.; daughter, Karyn Stanfield Simmons of Austin, Texas ; her two sons, Lloyd Glenn Stanfield III of Seattle, Wash., and Kevin LaMar Stanfield of Tallahassee, Fla.; four grandchildren; stepfather, Mardis Davis of Ruston; two brothers, Edward Benton of Houston, Texas , and Curtis Benton of Choudrant; stepbrother, Darrell Davis of Ruston; one uncle, Delane Woodard of Detroit, Mich.; one aunt, Juanita Woodard Walker and husband Herbert of Minden; and many relatives in the Minden and Ruston area.

Floyd Moore
Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Pondee Moore, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Floyd Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at Bistineau Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
Mr. Moore, a native of Heflin and a resident of Minden, Passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, in Minden. He worked for International Paper Company in Springhill for 41 years, where he retired in October 1996. He was a member of Dorcheat Lodge #276.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Moore Sr., and Alley Reeve Moore; sister, Robbie K. Smith of Waskom, Texas ; brothers, Bobby Moore of Heflin, George Moore Jr. of San Antonio, Texas , and Louie B. Moore of Minden.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Moore of Minden; sons, Floyd Milton Moore of Minden, Ricky L. Moore of Madisonville, Texas , Micky L. Moore of Minden; brother, Gerald B. "Jake" Moore and wife Virene of Dubberly; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jerry Harvill
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Harvill, 61, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll Bushnell officiating. Burial followed at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley.
Mr. Harvill, a lifelong resident of Doyline, Passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, at his residence, after a lengthy illness. He was born to Andrew Jackson Harvill and Athleen Adkins Harvill at Minden Medical Center. He enjoyed his family and friends, and he loved country music. Every Saturday night, one could find him at Claiborne Country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Harvill and Athleen Adkins Harvill; brothers, A.J. Harvill, Thomas Harvill, E.J. "Jack" Harvill, Ronald "Buck" Harvill; and his sister, Leona Brummett.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Wayne Harvill Sr. and wife Kristy of Keithville; daughter, Kelly Burge and husband Robby of Doyline; sisters, Katherine Wiggins of Blanchard, Hattie Newman and husband Jim of Sibley, Jessie Fittge of Doyline and Judy Giddings and husband Jackie of Doyline; grandsons, Jeff, Scotty and Jake Harvill; granddaughters, Kelsey and Kayla Burge; the mother of his children, Carol Harvill Norred; and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Pallbearers will be Walter Gann, Ricky Ball, Barry Roberts, Kenny Kelley, Quincey Gann and Mike Beckham. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Shelton, Hank Gann, Tim Morgan, Doug Matthews, Doyal Bridges and Sam Lawrence.
Special thanks to years of devoted care by Dr. Paul Ware and Claudia Harris, and thanks to the nurses and doctors at Minden Medical Center. Also, a special thanks goes to his niece, Karen Mangrum.

John T. Banks
Funeral services for Mr. John T. Banks will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at St. Rest Baptist Church in Minden, with the Rev. Robert Whitaker Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home.
Mr. Banks Passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Shellie Jean Davis and husband Lloyd, Gewanda Wright and husband Charles, both of Minden, and Geraldine Banks of Shreveport; sons, Marvin Ray Banks and Bobby Flournoy and wife Gloria; one brother, Booker T. Banks of Tyler, Texas ; sisters, Alice Kinsey, Alma Lockhart, and Helen Banks of Minden, Christine Banks of Tyler, and Ernestine Matthews of Houston, Texas ; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lillian G. Jefferson
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian G. Jefferson were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Union Grove Baptist Church in Minden. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.

Thomas Carlos Prince
Private memorial services for Mr. Thomas Carlos Prince, 62, were held under the direction of Brunswick Funeral Service and Crematory in Shallotte, N.C.
Mr. Prince, a resident of Ocean Beach, N.C., Passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. He was born June 23, 1942, in Brunswick County, N.C. He was the son of Sarah Floyd Hegemann and the late Thomas C. Prince. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #74 in Minden.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Juanita Prince.
He is survived by his mother; his wife, Earlene Batton Prince; two daughters, Melissa Raley and husband Ted of Arcadia, and Sondra Clarke and husband Tommy of Doyline; one brother, Harold Prince and wife Shirley of Wilmington, N.C.; one sister, Shirley Prince of Wallace, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 E. Morehead Street, Suite 211, Charlotte, N.C. 28202.

Willie McCausland
Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Joyce Roberts McCausland, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. McCausland, a native of Clarks and a resident of San Antonio, Texas , Passed away Friday, Oct. 8, in San Antonio.
She was a school teacher for Webster Parish Schools and was a member of First Baptist Church in Minden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel McCausland; daughter, Carolyn White ; one sister; and four brothers.
She is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Hymer of Dianna, Texas , and Margaret Robert Rice of Monroe; two brothers, Norris Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., and Henry R. Roberts of San Antonio.

Frank A. Cantrell
Funeral services for Mr. Frank A. Cantrell, 72, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, Miss. Burial will follow Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley.
Mr. Cantrell, a resident of Byhalia, Miss., formerly of Sibley, Passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, in his home after a short illness. He was retired from Kansas City Southern. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Sibley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Greeson Cantrell; daughter, Diana (Polly) Cantrell Alberson of Byhailia; son, Gerald (Jerry) B. Cantrell of Vicksburg, Miss.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Byhalia, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Carrie Carter
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Byrnes Carter, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Doyline with the Rev. Tom Carlton officiating. Burial will follow at Doyline Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, Dec. 6, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter, a resident of Doyline, Passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, in Shreveport. She was a homemaker. Her passion, from a very young age, was crocheting. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her church, family and friends, never uttering a negative thought of anyone. Her memory of birthdays and lifetime happenings was astounding. We thank God that He allowed her to be with us for 92 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.M. Carter; two sons, Johnnie Carter and Frank Carter.
She is survived by three sons, Clyde Carter and wife Iris of Doyline, Tommie Carter and wife Fancy of Doyline, and Clifton Carter and wife Harriet of Springhill; daughter, Dixie Hanson and husband Billy of Doyline; two daughters-in-law, Hazel Carter of Blanchard and Dottie Carter of Bossier City; 23 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Doyline.

Joe Pat Allen
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Pat Allen, 61, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at the Fourteenth District Building with the Rev. Joshua Jackson officiating. interment will follow at the New Zion Cemetery under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 3, in the Kennon's Mortuary Chapel with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
Joe Pat Allen was born Nov. 23, 1943 to the late Henry Lee Allen, Sr. and the late Rosie Terrell Allen in Claiborne Parish. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Nov. 28, in Minden.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Devonne Allen of Minden; two stepchildren, Phyllis Allen and Bryant Allen both of Minden; three brothers, Roy Gilbert, Sr. and wife, Lula Mae, Henry Lee Allen, Jr., and James Allen, all of Minden; one sister, Annie Lee Campbell of Longview, Texas ; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mattie Lee Douse
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lee Frazier Douse, 67, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Springville Baptist Church in Gibsland, with the Rev. Timothy Carroll, Jr. officiating. interment will follow at Walker Cemetery in Gibsland under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 3, in the Kennon's Mortuary Chapel.
Mattie Douse was born Jan. 25, 1937, to the late Charlie Frazier and the late Bernice Huey Frazier. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Nov. 25 in Minden.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, C. T. Douse of Athens; three sons, Johnny Douse and wife Michelle of Minden, Sammy Douse of Gibsland, and Eddie Douse of Athens; two daughters, Brenda Douse of Athens, and Patricia Douse of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two brothers, Odell Frazier of Athens, and Willie B. Frazier of Houston, Texas ; one sisters, Geneva Peters of Detroit, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Vernon Faulk
Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Faulk, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Charles Penuell officiating and the Rev. Tommy Davidson assisting. Burial will follow at Old Athens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 1, at the funeral home.
Mr. Faulk, a native of Claiborne Parish and a resident of Athens, Passed away Monday, Nov. 29, in Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert L. and Lena Mae Faulk; brother, Melton Faulk; and his daughter-in-law, Sarah Faulk.
He is survived by his wife, Nova Faulk of Athens; son, Al Faulk and wife Donna of Athens; daughters, Marsha Toland and husband Larry of Heflin, Kay Hallmark Stratton and husband Terry of Minden; brother, Tommy Ray Faulk of Athens; eight grandchildren, Tammie Lowe and husband Jeff, Shanna Faulk Duck and husband Stephen, Lee Faulk, Carrie Faulk, Mike Toland and wife Lisa, Joe Toland and wife Terri, Donald Newman and wife Wendy, and Patrick Newman and wife Sara; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Old Athens Cemetery Association, or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
