Pauline E. Judd
Pauline Elizabeth Judd, 79, of 16415 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 8, 1918, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Troveninger Forsyth.
She was employed by Clearview Nursing Home in Hagerstown for 18 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Christ's Reformed United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.
She also was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion Auxiliary, Williamsport.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel F. Judd of Hagerstown; one daughter, Elizabeth Avery of Tulsa, Okla.; one son, Terry W. Judd of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Stotler; and one brother, Robert Forsyth.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open Sunday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
Vada M. Wilhide
MAUGANSVILLE - Vada Maye Wilhide, 90, of 13824 Distant View Drive, Maugansville, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 2, 1907, in Cearfoss, she was the daughter of the late Allen Clifford Angle and Mary Alice Spickler Angle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jacob "Peanie" Wilhide, in 1997.
She was an employee of Dorby Manufacturing, retiring in 1970, and also helped her husband with the Wilhide Dairy in Maugansville.
She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks No. 378.
She is survived by a sister, Geraldine A. Snyder of Hagerstown, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary E. Daniels, Pauline Sneckenberger, Ethel Dawson; and one brother, Kenneth Angle.
Services will be Monday, at 1 p.m., at Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14101 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown. The Rev. Leon R. Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown.
Memorial donations may be made to Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14101 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown.
Clara E. Miller
Memorial services will be held Monday for Clara Elizabeth Miller, 19, of 135 Doub Way, Hagerstown, who died recently.
Born April 5, 1978, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Joseph James Miller of Hagerstown and Marcia Coleen Garmong Younker of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepfather, Russell L. Younker Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Dawn Myers of Hagerstown; two half sisters, Tammy Russ and Bonnie Giffin, both of Hagerstown; one half brother, Kyle Younker at home; maternal grandmother, Elsie E. Garmong of Waynesboro, Pa.; and aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis L. Upton will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Hakim J. Khan
Hakim J. Khan, 30, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Silver Spring, Md., who died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, was a graduate of John Kennedy High School in Silver Spring.
He also is survived by two sisters, Suzanne Mandiviwella of Pakistan and Shireen K. Kaiser of Silver Spring; three nieces; and three nephews.
Vernon S. Eichelberger
Vernon Scott Eichelberger, 75, of 437 S. Edgewood Drive, Hagerstown, who died Thursday, March 19, 1998, was a 1941 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and attended Hagerstown Business College. He also was an avid woodworker and taught woodworking at the Boys' Club.
Mary C. Morningstar
Mary Catherine "Kate" Morningstar, 75, of 11420 Longview Drive, Hagerstown; and formerly of South Cleveland Avenue, Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 17, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henson and Mary Ellen Kreps Alder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Morningstar, in 1996.
She retired from Zayre's Department Store. She also worked for Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra I. Peyton of Hagerstown; two sons, Joseph Heflin of Jacksonville, N.C. and Robert Morningstar of Hagerstown; three sisters, Helen Brashears, Susie Semler and Jane Rock, all of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy E. Miller; two sisters, Frances V. Hoover and Irene Swartz; and three brothers, James Alder, Thomas Alder and William Alder.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Darryl Zoller, APC, OSL will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy H. M. Turnbull
SMITHSBURG - Nancy H.M. "Biddy" Turnbull, 81, of Smithsburg, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1916, in Tynemouth, England.
She received her master's degree, with honors, from Durham University in England.
After 40 years as a teacher, she retired in 1979. Her teaching career consisted of 21 years in England, with several years as an evacuee in a farm house during the war. Later, she received teaching awards in Australia and New Zealand.
In the 1960s she was offered a teaching position in Washington County by former superintendent William Brish. For 17 years she taught social studies at North Potomac Junior High; interspersing her classroom teaching with programs on local educational television.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, where she sang in the choir for nine years.
She was a member of the local and national branches of the Retired Teachers Association; AARP; Catholic Daughters of America; Catholic Golden Age; RSVP, where she contributed many volunteer hours; and American Diabetes Association.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Turnbull; nieces Jane Boyd and Anne Moir; nephews John Turnbull and Andrew Turnbull; and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Hagerstown. Monsignor Robert Passarelli and the Rev. George Limmer will be celebrants.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m.

Genevieve G. Clever
Genevieve Gladys Clever, 72, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 7, 1925, in Cearfoss, she was the daughter of the late Harry David Spickler and Olive Margaret Bowers Spickler Stouffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Clever, in 1983.
She retired from Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Mount Zion Church in Cearfoss.
She is survived by one son, Larry Gorman of Boonsboro; one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Gorman of Boonsboro, who cared for her for several years; two sisters, Elsie Sharer and Cora Melback, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Harry D. Spickler of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Naomi Miller; and one brother, Franklin P. Spickler.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Hayden L. Sparks will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Ralph Horton
Ralph Horton, 96, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Carroll County, Md., died Saturday, March 21, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 24, 1901, in Winfield, Md., he was the son of the late Howard M. and Maggie Wagner Horton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances G. Horton, in 1988.
He was a lifelong farmer.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army.
He was a former member of Emmanuel Baust United Church of Christ.
He was a former member of American Legion Carroll Post 31.
He is survived by three daughters, Lillie Linn of Hagerstown, with whom he lived, Pauline Ebaugh of Clear Spring and Catherine Barnes of Westminster, Md.; one son, Charles Hahn of Westminster; 10 grandchildren, including Elizabeth Janocha, whom he lived with; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Corrine Snyder; and one brother, Carvel Horton.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. The Rev. Mary Alice Clever will officiate. Burial will be in Uniontown Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mary E. Buskirk
HANCOCK - Mary Ellen Buskirk, 73, of Fulton Street, died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 19, 1925, in Shaft, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert Francis and Edith Viola Winebrenner Legeer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Buskirk, in 1952.
She was a retired cook from Park-N-Dine in Hancock.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice L. Coffman of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one son, Samuel W. Buskirk of Hancock; two sisters, Edna M. Hess of Hancock and Betty E. Legeer of Belleville, Ill.; one brother, Leroy Legeer of Richmond, Va.; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Legeer.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open today from noon to 9 p.m.
