EDWARD ANTHONY (EDDIE) ASHKETTLE JR. 31, of 36 E. Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Md. died on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born July 27, 1974 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Edward Anthony Ashkettle Sr. and Ruth Smith Ashkettle.
He was employed as a painter with Mander Contractors.
He served in the Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jamie Lynn Ashkettle,; two sons, Edward A. Ashkettle III and Zackery J J. Ashkettle, both at home; two step-daughters, Stephanie Heinen and Tamekia Heinen, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Jessica Lynn Ashkettle and Pamela Dawn Ashkettle both of Hagerstown; a brother, Jason Andrew Ashkettle of Hagerstown and a step-sister, Michelle Danner of Marlowe, West Virginia.
Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Rev. Brad Nigh will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dorothy Evelyn Guyton
Born in Florence, AL on Jul. 2, 1928

DOROTHY EVELYN GUYTON, 77, loving wife and mother, of 17837 Sherman Ave., Hagerstown, MD died Friday September 30, 2005 at her home. Born July 2, 1928 in Florence, Alabama she was the daughter of Evelyn Presley Hooker of Roanoke, VA and the late Eugene Hooker.
She is retired from the Venice Inn and Hotel.
She is survived by her husband Richard L. Guyton; three daughters, Deborah Linafelter and husband Bill of Edwardsville, Illinois, Kathy Kefauver and husband Mike of Keedysville, MD and Linda McLucas of Chambersburg, PA; a son, Steven E. Guyton and wife Christine of Hagerstown; a sister, Betty Jean Chappelear of Roanoke, VA; two grandchildren, Tiffany Good of St. Paul, MN and Joshua McLucas of Chambersburg, PA.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. with Rev. Dan Fraley officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour before the service. There will be no viewing. The family requests the omission of flowers with memorial donations being made to Hospice of Washington County, c/o Western Maryland Hospital, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

William Junior Walls

WILLIAM JUNIOR WALLS, 74, of 11 West Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at his home.
Born March 28, 1931 in Big Pool, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alston W. and Bonita Calbert Walls.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Army.
He was retired from Fairchild Aircraft.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Walls; two daughters, Bonita K. Smith of Hagerstown, and Wendy Mumma of Clear Spring, Maryland; three sisters, Betty Barger and Margaret Sheppard, both of Hagerstown, and Wilma Smith of Boonsboro, Maryland; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Allen Walls, and one sister, Shirley Knode.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Friday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard with Pastor James Hoffer officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m.

Mary Elizabeth Trimble
Born in Martinsburg, W.Va. on Mar. 23, 1919

MARY ELIZABETH TRIMBLE, 86, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at her home.
Born March 23, 1919 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Viola Trimble.
She graduated from Shepherd College, and continued her education at Columbia University where she earned a Masters Degree in Education. She taught for over forty years in the Washington County School system; most of those years teaching Social Studies and English at Washington Street School.
She was a member of the Christ Reformed Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Trimble Miller of Kearneysville, West Virginia; one brother, George W. Trimble of Strasburg, Virginia; three nieces and two nephews; three grand nieces and 10 grand nephews; five great grand nephews; dear friends, Rebecca Ocker and Tom Kitchens, both of Hagerstown.
A memorial service will be held at MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 11:00 a. m.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Washington County, Western Maryland Hospital, 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, Third Floor, Hagerstown, Maryland 21242.

William Franklin Roulette

WILLIAM “BILL” FRANKLIN ROULETTE, 84, of 1129 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, October 7, 2005 at Ravenwood Assisted Living in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born August 21, 1921 in Keedysville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Samuel P. and Leoda L. Eichelberger Roulette.
He retired in 1978 from Fairchild Industry after thirty-seven years of service.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Keeysville, Maryland; where he served as trustee for six years.
He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #378 for fifty-seven years and the AARP. He was a volunteer with the Washington County Hospital for twenty-two years.
He served as president of Fairview cemetery Board.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Roulette; three sister in laws, Margaret Mumma and Catherine Keedy both of Hagerstown, Maryland and Cora Wyand of Boonsboro, Maryland; nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Memorial Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Malcolm R. Stranathan will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home half hour before the service.
The family requests the omission of flowers. GEORGE RAYMOND (SMOKE) SMITH, 75, of 11502 Dellwyn Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at his home.
Born November 28, 1929 in Smoketown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edgar Smith and Florence Brenner Smith Yost.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Air Force.
He was employed with Fairchild Industries, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a member of the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211.
He is survived by his wife, Janet M. Smith; two daughters, Theresa Ann Smith of Dallas, Texas, and Kimberly M. Klug, and husband, Gregory F. Klug, of Scotland, Pennsylvania; one son, George R. Smith, II of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Jan Marie Klug, Jason Gregory Klug, and Daniel Gregory Klug, all at home; and one great-grandson, Alexander Thomas Klug, at home.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Genevieve Gilley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Christopher Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Max Eugene Byrkit
Born in Chadron, NE on Aug. 7, 1931

Max Eugene Byrkit
Dr. Max Eugene Byrkit passed away Sunday morning after spending a quiet Sabbath with his wife Carol. Max was born on August 7, 1931 in Chadron, Nebraska to Ralph and Dorothy Byrkit. From the age of 3 Max lived with his grandparents, “Bear” and Hannah Rook in Norfolk, Va. Later, his grandparents became teachers on an Indian reservation in Nebraska, where Max grew up. They moved to Ohio, where he attended Mount Vernon Academy. At the age of 18, Max attended a tent revival meeting, and dedicated his heart to the Lord as a Seventh day Adventist Christian. Max continued his education at Washington Missionary College (Now Columbia Union College) in Takoma Park, Maryland and attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine where he completed his Doctoral degree in Medicine. He interned at Washington Adventist Hospital, in Takoma Park, Maryland, and began his practice in Williamsport Md. in 1958. As part of his practice, he administered Anesthesia for a number of years. In 1966 he was conferred a specialty in Family Practice. He was president of the Washington County Medical Society in 1977, president of the Potomac Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. Dr. Byrkit retired in 2002 after 44 years of practice in Williamsport Md. Dr. Byrkit was referred to by many because of his outstanding medical diagnostic skills.
Dr. Max Byrkit was conferred the Community Service Award from the city of Williamsport, Md. in 1987 for his work in the community. He was later honored by the City for his “many years of service” by having a street named after him. After retirement Dr. Byrkit volunteered his services at Hagerstown Free Clinic until he passed away. He was an avid hybridizer of Rhododendrons and day lilies. His interest in these areas took him all over the world. His Rhododendron and Azalea gardens were visited by regional and national garden clubs. He enjoyed opening his gardens annually, for the pleasure and enjoyment of many guests. His interests in promoting classical music led him to become a board member of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. He was a member of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, and generously donated a collection of American Indian Artifacts to the museum. He was an avid collector of postage stamps and developed many friendships through this passion. He was a teacher, Elder and board member at the Hagerstown and Williamsport Seventh day Adventist Churches. He was a member of MENSA which he joined on a lark. He was notorious for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol, his three sons, David of Bluefield, WV, James, of Salem, OR., and Mark, of Hagerstown, MD., and thirteen grandchildren. He was beloved and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and patients alike.
The viewing will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home on 415 E. Wilson Blvd. on Wednesday, October 12. at 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 11:00am at the Williamsport Seventh day Adventist Church. The church is located at 16421 Lappans Road, Williamsport, MD. Pastor Franke Zollman will lead out in the memorial service.Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, MD

Florence Susan Petro

FLORENCE S. (CHICK) PETRO, 80, of 10920 Knotty Pine Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at her home after a brief illness.
Born May 22, 1925 in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Elpidio and Lillian Vuoldie Buonpane.
She was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 202 of Williamsport, a member of the Oak Ridge Garden Club and numerous charity organizations.
She was a very active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Chick, as friends knew her, was renowned for her eloquent floral arrangements, dried flower ornaments and holiday grave covers. In addition, she most enjoyed constant get-togethers with her family and friends and an occasional day trip with her husband to nearby Charlestown WV.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, John E. Petro ( a retired employee from both Mack Trucks and the Washington County Hospital of Hagerstown); three daughters, Susan Gebhart and husband Joe of Salisbury, Maryland, Patricia Springer and husband Mike of Hagerstown, Maria Shadrach and husband Scott, of Hagerstown; two sons, John Petro and wife Linda of Mt. Airy, Maryland, and Guy Petro of Hagerstown; one sister, Anna Leone of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; one brother, Guy Buonpane of Toms River, New Jersey; eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a. m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Friday from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m.

DREWRY ELIZABETH HARPOLD, 92 of Sundown Court, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born March 27, 1913 in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Norma B. Ware Woody.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William C. Harpold, August 9, 2000. He was a retired United Methodist Minister. They were married on July 7, 1929 at the 9th Street Christian Church in Washington, D.C., and enjoyed seventy-one years of marriage. Today that marriage continues in heaven.
She graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, D.C.
She was employed with Weight Watchers for sixteen years.
She was a member of the Washington Square United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class.
She is survived by three daughters, Juanita Mozell Cutler of Three Churches, West Virginia, Florence Elizabeth Dean of Kearneysville, West Virginia and Lois Ellen Harpold of Funkstown, Maryland; five sons, William Cody Harpold, Jr. of Pflugerville, Texas, Richard Norman Harpold of Ovilla, Texas, Charles Woody Harpold of Boynton Beach, Florida, George Michael Harpold of Frostburg, Maryland and John Arthur Harpold of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; thirty-three grandchildren; fifty-five great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Janet Lee Moore and David Harpold; one sister, Rose Mary Evans.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Owen Womack, Bishop Joseph Yeakel, and assisted by her two sons, Rev. George M. Harpold and Rev. John A. Harpold will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Route 15 North of Frederick, Maryland.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland and one hour prior to the services at the church of Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.

Born October 8, 1925 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Earl and Florabelle Davidson Livingston.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Livingston.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 West Washington Street. Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Interment will be held at Arlington cemetery in Arlington, Virginia on November 15, 2005 at 2:00 p. m.
There will be no viewing.
