Notley H. Davis, Jr.

Mr. Notley H. Davis, Jr., 86, of Chambersburg, PA, died on Saturday March 19, 2005 in Chambersburg.
He was the husband of Ida Davis.
Born on February 16, 1919 in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Notley and Mary Brosius Davis, Sr.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christina Davis and two sisters; Mary Loretta Offutt and Virginia Riley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm on Tuesday March 22 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 116 E. 2nd Street, Frederick. Rosary will be recited at 12 noon.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers make contributions to the Alzheimer's Family Relief Program, P.O. Box 1958, Clarksburg, MD 20871.

Alison L. Schwartz

Mrs. Alison L. Schwartz, 52, of Frederick, died on Sunday August 21, 2005 at the Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, MD.
She was the wife of Richard Schwartz.
Born on May 26, 1953 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of Beatrice Ritter Bretz of Frederick and the late Paul Bretz.
Mrs. Schwartz was a graduate of Northampton High School, a honors graduate of Northampton Community College both of Northampton, PA, a legal secretary for Goldberg, Evans and Katzman in Harrisburg, PA and later a secretary for Morgan Keller in Frederick. She also served as vice president of R. F. Schwartz, Inc. and was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick.
Surviving besides her husband and mother is one sister; Judith Baatz and husband Ken of Allentown, PA, one niece; Ruth Kerchner and husband Greg and one nephew; Matthew Baatz.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a church of your choice in Alison's name.

Matthew G. Purdum

Mr. Matthew George Purdum, 21, of Frederick, died suddenly as the result of a traffic accident on Tuesday August 16, 2005.
Born on February 9, 1984 in Rockville, he was the son of John and Laurie Dove Purdum.
He is also survived by paternal grandparents; Maurice E. and Ruby Purdum and Al Serkiz, three aunts; Beth Love and husband Sherwood, Kathy Shirley and husband Reggie, Mary Welch and husband Thomas, two uncles; Robert Dove and wife Kathy, Charles Dove and wife Lisa and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Virginia Serkiz and maternal grandparents George M. and Laurie I. Dove.
A graduate of Poolesville High School Matthew was very passionate about snowboarding. He was employed with The Washington Group - Mass Mutual in Rockville.
Family will receive friends on Sunday August 21 from 5-8 PM at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.
Funeral services will follow the visitation and begin at 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Ground Rd., Boyds, MD 20841 to benefit youth services or the Humane Society, 14645 Rothgeb Dr., Rockville, MD 20850.

Dorothy E. Turner

Mrs. Dorothy E. Turner, 76, of Poolesville, died on Monday August 15, 2005 at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.
She was the wife of Irvin Turner.
Born on August 19, 1928 in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Sarah Kirby Edwards.
Mrs. Turner was a 4 year volunteer and administrator at the Owens Park Senior Center in Beallsville.
Surviving besides her husband is two daughters; Jane L. Munday of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sarah Kathryn Richards of Richmond, VA and two grandchildren; Randi Jane Lefever and Keith Alan Lefever.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday August 20 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109) Barnesville, MD .
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Rev. Joe Ivey of the Barnesville Baptist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.

Douglas Wayne Darby

Mr. Douglas W. Darby, 51, of Alexandria, VA died suddenly on Wednesday August 10, 2005 at his residence.
Born on January 20, 1954 in Frederick, he was the son of the late H. Dunbar and Emily Tinney Darby.
Mr. Darby was a graduate of Frederick High School, Washington Lee University, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Poolesville and a member of the board of directors of the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
Doug enjoyed baking, owned Home Style Delights and was co-developer of BizNetworkHub.com.
Surviving is one sister, Donna Jean Darby Ferril of Jefferson, a niece, Kristi M. Yetter of Hanover, PA, a nephew, Dale "Tommy" Ferril, Jr., of Jefferson, a great nephew, Brendan Thomas Frazier of Hanover, PA, a great niece, Kaitlyn MacKenzie Frazier also of Hanover, an aunt, Pauline Danner of Frederick and numerous cousins.
He will also be remembered by the many friends and business associates he leaves in Northern Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Dunbar Darby, Jr.
Family will receive friends on Monday August 15 from 6-9 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD where funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 16 at 11 AM.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036Special Olympics

Julida Kilafwakun

Miss Julida Kilafwakun, 42, of Germantown, died on Wednesday August 10, 2005 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville. She was employed by Montgomery College in Germantown. Services will be handled by the family.

Graham W. C. Lamson

Mr. Graham W. C. Lamson, 51, of Dickerson, died suddenly on Friday July 29, 2005 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
Born on December 10, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of the late Glenn Graham and Margaret Eacrett Lamson, Jr.
Mr. Lamson was a 1971 graduate of Walter Johnson High School and attended both Montgomery College in Rockville and Towson State University.
He worked for numerous years at Roberson Plumbing in Dickerson.
Mr. Lamson was a talented wood worker and studied woodworking at the North Bennett Street School in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Washington Area Wood Workers Guild, Society of Period Furniture Makers and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
Graham was also a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Poolesville.
Surviving is one brother, Timothy E. Lamson and wife Bonnie of Adamstown and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:oo pm on Sunday August 7, 2005 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 20100 Fisher Ave., Poolesville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Peter's Building Fund, P.O. Box 387, Poolesville, MD 20837.
Hilton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Glenna Sue Dorrough

Mrs. Glenna Sue Dorrough, 61, of Poolesville, quietly passed away at her residence on Thursday July 28, 2005 after a battle with cancer.
She was the loving wife of Bob Dorrough.
Born on February 9, 1944 in Dublin, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Mamie Nester Tolbert.
Glenna was a part of the Poolesville Adventures Car Club.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters; Chontelle Hockenbery and husband Bryan, Chrissie Harney and husband Paul all of Poolesville, three sisters; Phyllis Perry and husband Arthur of North Carolina, Cecil Shoemaker and husband Johnny of Florida, Barbara Kimball and husband Jerry of Frederick, one brother; Archie Tolbert, Jr. and Cindy Brenneman of Germantown, five grandchildren; Loran, Megan, Morgan, Gavin, Kylee and nephews; Mark, Eric and Christopher Perry and families.
Family will receive friends on Monday August 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109) Barnesville, MD .
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday August 2 at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821-A Green Valley Road, Monrovia, MD 21770. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church.

Gaye Mullins Inman

Mrs. Gaye Mullins Inman, 83, of Gaithersburg, formerly of Frederick, died on Monday July 25, 2005 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.
Gaye was born October 11, 1921. She grew up on Neely Ridge in S.W. Virginia. After coming to Washington, DC, she worked for Georgetown Jewelers. Gaye married Harry Rhea, settling in Potomac, where she raised her two sons. Later, she pursued a career as a comptroller for Microbiological Associates and then retired from The Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Harry Rhea died in 1984.
Gaye found true happiness when she married the love of her life, Guy Inman. Living in Crestwood Village in Frederick, they loved their friends, dancing to the big band sounds and traveling. Gaye volunteered her time at Select Seconds. Following her husband's death and her diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease, her final years were spent at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg. She remained active until her last hospitalization.
Gaye is survived by her 2 sons, Mr. Thomas Rhea of West Virginia and Dr. James Rhea of Boyds, Maryland, her five grandchildren, Lara Gibbemeyer, James Rhea, Virginia Rhea, William Rhea and Carrie Rhea. 2 great-grandchildren, Jakob and Erik Gibbemeyer and three nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 29, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Gaye regarded higher education as a priority. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Gaye Inman Scholarship Fund, c/o Boyds Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 320, Boyds, MD 20841. This will provide college books for a young person in need.

Mary C. Ware

Mrs. Mary Conlon Ware, 83, of Adamstown, formerly of Poolesville, died on Wednesday July 13 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
She was the wife of the late Bruce R. Ware, III.
Born on August 16, 1921 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. And Laura Wessells Conlon.
Mrs. Ware was an avid horsewoman and served with the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC during WWII.
Surviving are her children; Connie Ware Webster of Indiana, Ann Ware Campbell of Virginia, Bruce R. Ware, IV of Severn, one sister; Laura Conlon Jamison of Adamstown, five grandchildren; Michael, Michelle, Jamie, Marianne and Jackie.
She was also a great grandmother of 5.
Mary was preceded in death by one sister; Sara E. Conlon and one brother; Thomas A. Conlon, Jr.
Family will receive friends on Friday July 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Saturday July 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville, MD.
Interment will be in Arlington National cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20902.

James M. Brooks "Jody"

Mr. James M. Brooks, "Jody", age 48, of Poolesville, MD died Thursday July 31, 2008.
Born on June 9, 1960 he was the son of Robert and Rebecca Selby Brooks, of Poolesville, brother of Robert L. Brooks, Jr. and wife Debbie, Jeffrey William Brooks and wife Alice, Darren Jacob Brooks, nephew of Roy and Betty Jean Selby, James and Sally Brooks, Donald and Eva Brooks, Herb and Joyce Nusbaum, Helen Louise Brooks, Raymond and Jo Ann Brooks. He was also the grandson of Roy and Frances Selby and James and Anna Brooks. He was also survived by nieces and nephews; Michael, Alexandra, Christopher Szalay-Brooks; Robert Lewis III, Ryan and Jared Brooks, Gabriella and Zachary Brooks and numerous cousins and other family members and friends.
Jody was very fond of playing golf, reading and coaching and umpiring for UMAC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday August 5 at the Poolesville Memorial United Methodist Church, 17821 Elgin Road, Poolesville, MD 20837.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Poolesville High School Athletic Association, c/o Fred Swick.
