Joey Paul Leach, 49 yrs, a resident of Chaplins Mill Road, Naples formerly of Alfred and Arundel died unexpectedly Friday, January 14, 2005 in Arundel.

He was born in Biddeford, ME on November 5, 1955 a son of Samuel C. and Mary L. Laverriere Leach.

He graduated from Kennebunk High School and Andover College in Portland.

Joey served with U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a rigger for several years. He was employed at a cable and satellite company in the Biddeford area.

Joey was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and the outdoors.

His father and three brothers Bruce Leach, Glenn Leach and Mark Leach predeceased him.

He is survived by his mother of Arundel, his wife of 22 years Margaret Golrick Leach of Naples, one son Mark K. Leach of Naples, one daughter Mrs. Robert (Amanda) Farley of Pax River, MD, one brother Samuel C. Leach Jr. and his wife Susan of Arundel, three sisters Lou Ann Leach of Biddeford, Tammy Leach and Elaine Leach Bergeron both of Arundel

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, Jan 18th at St. Joseph Church, Elm St. Biddeford.

Should friends desire memorial donations may to made to charity of one’s choice in Mr. Leach’s memory.

John L. Sherwood

John L. Sherwood, age 56 of Branch Road, died Thursday, February 3, 2005 at his residence.

He was born in Rochester, N.H. on May 29, 1948, a son of Harry S. and Marion E. Stevens Sherwood.

He attended and graduated from Dover High School and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a welding foreman.

John enjoyed studying his family’s genealogy and Native American culture and was a craftsman with woodworking and carving. He was also a former member of the Triangle Club.

He is survived by his son, Michael of Rollinsford, NH; his mother of Rochester, NH; two brothers, Bob Sherwood of Cedar Falls, IA and Mark Sherwood of Waldorf, MD; and a sister, Gail Bedrosian of Dover, NH.

There will be private family services only.

Joseph T. Bielawski
January 18, 2005
Lebanon

Joseph T. Bielawski, age 58 of Lebanon, Maine, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass.

He was born June 30, 1946 in Schwabisch, Germany, the son of Michael and Marie Putowa Bielawski. After moving to Belgium, it was best for them and Joseph to move to America to Norwich, CT. where his mother still resides in the house she, her husband and Joseph fixed up.

Joseph attended Norwich Free Academy from where he graduated in 1965 and he then served in the US Army from 1966-1968.

Later, he started working for Malden Mills as a supervisor. It was there he met his wife, Pamela Harpole. They married on July 4, 1981.

He enjoyed gardening and computers.

He is predeceased by his father who died in 2000.

Surviving are his wife of Lebanon; his mother of Norwich, Ct; and his daughter, Katie Bielawski of Waltham, Mass.

There will be private family services only.

Alma P. Radivonyk

Alma P. Radivonyk 84 years a resident of Tatnic Road, Moody died Saturday October 23, 2004 at the Goodall Hospital, Sanford after a brief illness.

She was born in Framingham, Mass a daughter of Eliot and Jennie Tirrell Hurlbut.

Alma graduated from Framingham High School the class the 1939 and the New England Baptist Hospital school of Nursing in 1943.

She was employed by the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as Nurse until 1970 and moved to Maine in 1970 and was employed by the Goodall Hospital of Sanford as head nurse on the second floor Marland II until 1985. She was very proud of her accomplishment to wear her nurse’s cap.

She enjoyed going camping, traveling, loved to do laundry and cooking. She also loved to go to Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Radivonyk who died in 1966 ; a longtime companion James Hayes who died in 1995 and her brother Harold Hurlbut.

She is survived by her two sons Joseph (Joe) and his wife Kathleen Radivonyk of Hickman, KY., Thomas and his wife Valerie Radivonyk of Orlando, FLA., three daughters Helen and her husband Rick Marlowe of Moody, Joanne and her husband David Wood of Crystal River, FLA., and Sue and her Husband Bill Locke of Lyman, ME; 8 grandchildren Peter Stevens, Marianne Ferrucci, Jane Hulin, Joelle Huie, Sandra Bissett, Tom Radivonyk, Denis Clark and Kristi Clark and 5 great grandchildren Paige, Faith. Chloe, Joey Ferrucci and Robby Hulin and her two golden Retrievers Jennie and Daisy.

Visiting Hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday October 25, 2004 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 111 Chapel Road Wells.

Graveside service will be held 3 PM Tuesday October 26, 2004 at the Forest Dale Cemetery, Forest Street Malden, MA.

Should friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Ogunquit Fire Department, 13 School Street, Ogunquit, Me 03907 in Mrs.Radivonyk’s memory.

Ann F. Moulton

Ann F. Moulton, 85 years, a resident of Chestnut Street, Kennebunkport died Friday, December 17 at her home after a long illness, surrounded by her family.
Ann was born on December 1, 1919 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Tracy Henry.

Ann attended parochial schools in Brewer, Maine. She moved to Portland, Maine in the late 1930’s. She worked as a ship fitter at New England Shipbuilding in South Portland, Maine during World War II. In 2000 she was awarded the “Rosie the Riveter” for her service during the war. Even more importantly, it was during her years at the shipyard where she met and married her husband of 60 years, Frank (Ray) Moulton in 1944.

Ann and her husband moved to Kennebunkport in 1945. She worked at Kesslen Shoe for several years until they purchased the Anvil Apartments. Ann managed the apartments for many years.

Ann always loved art and loved painting from Arundel Point locations. Ann and Ray had a camp Down East and she loved painting scenes looking across the lake. She had a real love of nature and always appreciated the beauty around her. She was an avid bird lover and watcher. She enjoyed history, especially Maine history, often times passing along historical wisdom to her 8 grandchildren. “Shoot pictures not guns” was her motto. She loved the ocean, lighthouses, and bright sunshine. She was always walking, and especially loved walking down the River and around the Point.

Ann and Ray were very active in the Wells Grange for many years. After Ray’s retirement in 1984, they spent winter months in Lake Whales, Florida with family and many friends at Saddlebag Lake Resort.

Ann was predeceased by a daughter Ann A. Henry, and a sister Alvina Jordan.

Ann is survived and missed very much by her husband, Frank (Ray) Moulton, a daughter, Donna (Della) Evans; two sisters, Mary Hood and her husband Nelson of Auburn, ME and Florida, Ginny Williamson and her husband Buster of Lake Umbagog, ME and Florida; 8 beloved grandchildren of Maine , New Hampshire, Tennessee, and Texas; and 10 beloved great grandchildren of Maine and Knoxville, TN.

There will be a private graveside service at Arundel cemetery in Kennebunkport.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Kennebunkport Emergency Medical Services, P.O. Box 460B, Kennebunkport, ME 04046.

Florence R. Bradbury

Cape Porpoise

Florence R. Bradbury, 72, a resident of Cape Porpoise, died Friday April 15, 2005 at the Kennebunk Nursing Center after a long illness.

Florence was born in Crystal, NH, on November 14, 1932, a daughter of Lucien A. and Mavis Corkum Roy.

She was raised in Rumford and attended local schools.

She left the family farm to work waitressing summers in Cape Porpoise, moving there permanently to marry and raise a family.

Her love of playing the piano soon led her to join a band which played locally, most often at the Sea Spray at Kennebunk Beach.

For many years she worked at Bradbury Brothers Market in Cape Porpoise which was owned by her husband, Wilbur, and his brother, Milton. After the store was sold, she spent the next 20 summers, known as “Flo” the waitress at the Captains Restaurant in Cape Porpoise.

Her hobbies were knitting, cribbage, gardening, bowling, and sewing. She and her sister-in-law, Virginia was known for donating beautiful quilts to KEMS to be used for raffles.

She was predeceased by her husband Wilbur A. Bradbury who died in 1987.

She is survived by her son, Mark Thompson, and his wife Lisa of Kennebunkport; a daughter Sharon Soule, and her husband Charles, of Cape Porpoise; a step son Scott Bradbury, of Northampton, MA; and step daughter, Ann Dobra of Williamsburg, VA; two brothers Norman Roy of South Rumford, and Ernest Roy of West Peru; and a sister Shirley Staples of South Rumford; 10 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday, April 18, at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, where a funeral will be held at 11 AM Tuesday. Interment will be in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.

Kenneth V. Whitaker

Ocean Park

Kenneth V. Whitaker, age 85 of Ocean Park, died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Veteran’s Hospital at Togus.

He was born in Berwick on July 15, 1919, a son of Walter Leland and Lena Aliceson Fall Whitaker.

Kenneth attended Berwick schools and served his country in the US Army during WWII.

He worked as a coverer and insulator in shop#56 at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and retired from there in 1978 after 33 years.

He married Elizabeth M. Walker Whitaker on July 7, 1979.

Mr. Whitaker was a life time member of the DAV and enjoyed singing. In his earlier years, he also enjoyed hunting.

He attended the Faith Light House Church in Old Orchard.

He is predeceased by a son, Lawrence G. DeWitt of North Berwick in 2000; three brothers, Raymond Whitaker of Berwick, Wilbur Whitaker of Eliot, and Roland Whitaker of Portsmouth, NH.; and a sister, Marion Andrews of Eliot.
Surviving are his wife of Ocean Park; two daughters, Mary Fuller of South Berwick, and Elizabeth Brunette of Rollinsford, NH; two sons, Fred Whitaker of Winthrop and Maurice R. DeWitt of Jersey City, NJ; a brother, Elsworth Whitaker of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 22, at the Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street, Berwick with Rev. E. Terry Courtney officiating.

Donations can be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

Lawrence Arthur Verville

Berwick

Berwick- Lawrence Arthur Verville, 78 years, of Mark Circle, Berwick, died January 12, 2005 at Wentworth-Douglass hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

“Honest Larry”, as he was well known, was born March 28, 1926 in East Milton, MA, the son of Arthur and Celia Freeland Verville.

Larry proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during World War II. After the War, Larry built his career as a die cast manufacturer at General Electric where he retired after 23 years. Larry also cut hair in the barbershop that his father started for many years after work.

Larry looked forward to Christmas Eve every year for that is when he and Arlene would have their family get-together. He loved his family. Larry also enjoyed traveling. He also had a special bond with his four Norwegian Elkhounds. It was often hard to distinguish who exactly was the “master”, Larry or his dogs.

Larry was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Lessard.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Arlene; son Bill and his wife Janet Verville of Kittery, ME; daughter Carol Verville of Naples, FLA; sister Antoinette Harvey of Somersworth, NH; son-in-law Jerry Lessard of Berwick; grandchildren Suzanne, Heidi, “Little” Billy, Kimberly, Parish, and Jason; and twelve great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11-12:30 am on Saturday, January 15 at the Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street, Berwick, ME. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at Our Lady of Peace. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity cemetery in Somersworth, NH.
