Phyllis Sherman
Funeral services for Phyllis J. Sherman, 75, Fridley, took place Nov. 21 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Gary Mueller officiated.
Sherman died Nov. 17, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born May 26, 1927 in Kettle River Township to Edward and Rena Goring and was a retired cook.
She is survived by her husband, Laurel; sons, Paul (Laura) and Neal Anderson; daughters, Lynette Anderson and Renee (Donald) Blue; grandchildren, Jayme, Justin, Natascha, Tanya, Jeremiah and Amber; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Myah and Westin; brothers, Larry Goring; and sisters, Ruth Gould and Eileen Hillbrand.
Pallbearers were Jayme and Justin Anderson, Don and Jeremiah Blue, Charles McIntosh and John Trombley.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Anoka.
Katharine Swanson
Funeral services for Katharine Agusta Swanson, 92, Ogilvie, formerly of Coon Rapids, take place today (Friday, Nov. 29), 1 p.m., at Ogilvie United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Buckley will officiate.
Swanson died Nov. 22, 2002 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. She was born Feb. 25, 1910 in Minneapolis to Patrick and Ida Conway.
She is survived by her sons, David (Pat) of Backus and William (Ruth) of Andover; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; daughters, Marlys K. Gardner and Carol Rybak-Ahso; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and two sons-in-law.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Gardner and Mickey, Tony and Scott Swanson.
Interment will be at Graceland cemetery, Ogilvie. Arrangements are by Dresser-Methven Funeral Homes of Mora and Ogilvie.
Wesley Taber
Funeral services for Wesley R. Taber, 75, Anoka, took place Nov. 22 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Taber died Nov. 18, 2002 in Anoka. He was born May 9, 1927 in Oak Grove Township to Harry A. and Bertha W. (Daudt) Taber and was retired from Federal Cartridge after 39 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Anoka American Legion Post 102.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie; son, Thomas Taber of Anoka; daughters, Denise Taber of New Brighton, Joan (Dave) Clark of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, and Mikayla Clark; brother, Harry (Susan) Taber of Coon Rapids; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bertha Taber; and sister, Ruth Stoeckel.
Pallbearers were Bill Engstrom, Elmer Hierlinger, Don Mellin, Ted Reineccius, Bob Riley and Joe Zimmerman.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Patricia Adriaens
Funeral services for Patricia L. Adriaens, 71, Andover, took place Nov. 27 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Adriaens died Nov. 24, 2002 at her home. She was born Sept. 12, 1931 in Lakeville to John C. Empey and Blanche A. Tuma. She was a retired assembler at Cornelius.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Mary), Dan (Barb), Barb (Tom) Dehn, Caron (Mark) Gibson, Tom (Anita), Donna (Brian) Tanner, Jerry (Cindy), Dave (Sandy), Bryan (Roxanne); 20 grandchildren; brothers, Larry, Bill, Allen and Jim Empey; sisters, Jean Palmer and Mary Kay Ricker; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and John Empey.
Pallbearers were Wayne, Daniel, Thomas, Gerald, David and Bryan Adriaens.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Joanne Audette
Funeral services for Joanne Marie Audette, 53, Andover, took place Dec. 2 at Church of St. Paul, Ham Lake. Rev. Timothy Nolan officiated.
Audette died Nov. 27, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 26, 1949 in Minneapolis to Severin and Gloria Stitt, and was self-employed.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Katherine Marie, Amanda Jo and Melissa Anne; sisters, Janice (Bud) Audette; brothers, Jim (Josephine) Stitt, Donnie (Julie) Stitt and Jerry Stitt; special friend, Pam Ross; mother- and father-in-law, Larry and Margaret Audette; bothers- and sister-in-law, Chuck Audette, Tom (Joanne) Audette; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Hugh Campbell
Funeral services for Hugh M. Campbell, 68, Onamia, formerly of Dayton, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 7), 2 p.m., at Abundant Life Community Church, 1105 117th Ave N.E., Blaine. Luncheon will follow immediately after service at the Blaine VFW, 1374 109th Ave N.E. Visitation is this evening (Friday, Dec. 6), 6 to 8 p.m., at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel, 552 East River Rd., Anoka.
Campbell died Nov. 30, 2002 in Tarpon Springs, Fla. He was born Nov. 9, 1934. He was retired advertising manager of the Anoka County Shopper/ABC Newspapers and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Betty; children, Rhonda Campbell, Kim Campbell, Hugh D. Campbell; grandchildren, Erick Oswald, Ian Oswald, Alexa Brune, Willie Brune, Maria Schreder; brothers and sisters, Dawn Campbell Anderson, Sharon Campbell Hagen, Diane Campbell, Keith Campbell, Kent (Norma) Campbell; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Gretchen; and brother, Dennis Campbell.
Arrangements are by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel, Anoka.
Lloyd Cropper
Funeral services for Lloyd Raymond 'Killie' Cropper, 76, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 23 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Margaret Guelker officiated.
Cropper died Nov. 18, 2002 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 23, 1926 in Minneapolis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, life member of the Coon Rapids VFW and American Legion, and a retired electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Dehn); children, Emil LeVasseur, Ann (Allan) Rigsby, Lori Thorud; grandchildren, Adam DeSerre, Megan Rigsby; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis Dehn, Dorothy Dehn and Elaine (Bill) Blaha; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; and sisters.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Allen Cushman
Funeral services for Allen Dale Cushman, 75, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 30 at Oxlip Evangelical Free Church, Isanti. Rev. Leroy Scheumann and Kenneth Rice officiated.
Cushman died Nov. 25, 2002 at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1927 in Montevideo to Ralph and Mabel (Allen) Cushman. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea and was employed at Honeywell from 1950 to 1988.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane and Darrell Gunion; grandchildren, Erika, Greg and Elissa Gunion; brothers, Dennis (Joan) Cushman of Montevideo, Byron (Linda) Cushman of Coon Rapids; and sister, Lois (Gene) Reiman, of Benson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; brother, Leland; and infant sister, Shirley.
Pallbearers were Brenda Badzinksi, Tim Cushman, Erika and Greg Gunion, Mark Madden and Nancy Stowe. Honorary pallbearers were Elissa Gunion and Brian Madden.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Cambridge Funeral Home-Strike Chapel.
Wayne Goldenstein
Funeral services for Wayne H. 'Goldie' Goldenstein, 74, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 30 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Marlys Korman officiated.
Goldenstein died Nov. 23, 2002 in Coon Rapids. He was born May 8, 1928 in Donnelly. He was the founder of Wayne Goldenstein Company and a lifetime member of Coon Rapids American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Toni (Greg) Kolinski, Brad (Kathy) and Rick (Sherry); five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche; and brother, Henry.
Interment was at Swanburg cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Betty Hinton
Funeral services for Betty L. Hinton, 81, Ramsey, took place Dec. 5 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Hinton died Nov. 30, 2002 at Richfield Health Center. She was born Nov. 21, 1921 in Burkburnett, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Murphree Hinton; granddaughters, Lauren Hinton and Morgan Jedlicka; sisters, Serelda Lewis and June Johnston; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Hinton.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
