Peter Raeker

Funeral service for Peter B. Raeker, 40, Fridley, took place June 10 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Zehren officiated.

Raeker died June 6, 2005. He was born April 3, 1965 in Ely.

He is survived by his sons, Andrew and Gary and their mother Catherine Bisogni; parents, Wilfred "Bill" and Charlotte; sisters and brothers, Mary Raeker-Rebek (Daniel Rebek), William (Carol), Roger (Mary), Charles (Michele), Terese Fox (Steven); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Roger, William, Charles, Anthony and Stephen Raeker, Steven Fox, Daniel Rebek, Brian O'Rourke and Bernard Frederick.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Ed Rasmussen

Funeral service for Ed George Rasmussen Sr., 79, of Dalbo, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place June 11, at Dalbo Baptist Church. Rev. Randy Westerberg officiated.

Rasmussen died June 6, 2005 at the Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. He was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Polk County to Louis and Maude (Rounsville) Rasmussen. He served in the U.S. States Navy during World War II. He worked for Minneapolis Moline for many years as well as FMC, Pioneer Engineering and as a milk tester for Goodhue County in Kenyon. He was a member of the UAW union and a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Elna of Dalbo; children, JoAnn and husband Fred Larsen of Anoka, Ed Rasmussen Jr. and wife Diane of Kenyon, Marvin and wife Roxanne Rasmussen of Coon Rapids, Douglas and wife Jackie Rasmussen of Ham Lake; stepchildren, Nancy Anderson and special friend Frank of Dalbo, Rodney and wife Karen Anderson of Dalbo; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three step-grandchildren; brothers Fred Rasmussen Sr. of Pueblo West, Colo., Melvin and wife Janina Rasmussen of Fargo, N.D.; sister-in-law Lillian Rasmussen of Ham Lake; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; son, Alan; daughter, Carrie; and brothers, Joe, Harry and Charlie.

Arrangements were by Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.

Ruth Stark

Funeral service for Ruth Elizabeth Stark, 81, Ham Lake, took place June 9 at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Hellmann officiated.

Stark died June 6, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 2, 1924 in Moose Lake to Walter Frederick and Margaret Julia (Schellenberger) Hensch. She was a retired employee of T&J; Concrete and Masonry and a past president of the Fridley VFW Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Gerry) Stark, Shirley (Ted) Fystrom; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Merlin (Donna) Hensch; sister, Janette Hensch; and sons-in-law, Mark Oldakowski and Richard Harding.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; and daughters, Darlene Harding and Joanne Oldakowski.

Pallbearers were Tim and Tom Fystrom, Jeff Stark, Jerry Jongeling and Chong Hunter. Honorary pallbearers were John Oldakowski and Rich and Dan Harding.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Gloria Usiak

Funeral service for Gloria 'Boots' Usiak, 73, of Elizabethtown, took place June 13 at St. Thomas Church, International Falls. Rev. Tom Meyer officiated.

Usiak died June 6, 2005 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Fergus Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Usiak of Elizabethtown; sons, Steve Usiak of Las Vegas, Nev., Mark Usiak of Chicago, Ill., Kim Usiak of Coral Gables, Fla, and Tony Usiak of O'Fallon, Mo.; daughters, Holly Heinold of Franklin, Tenn., and Michelle Burris of Westerville, Ohio; brother, Harold Hodel of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Betty Jameson and Valeria Engelking both of International Falls; nine grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lillian Schennum Hodel; and brother, Robert Hodel.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Robert Miller Jr.

Funeral service for Robert A. Miller Jr., 33, Anoka, took place June 14 at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev. John Bucka officiated.

Miller died June 9, 2005. He was born Aug. 3, 1971 in Rota, Spain, to Robert Miller Sr. and Dolores Aguilar. He was a truck driver for Ace Recycling.

He is survived by his son, Matthew; daughter, Haley; father, Robert A. Miller; mother, Dolores G. Aguilar; grandfather, Gordon S. Miller; sister, Karen (Stephen) Greisinger; and extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were Matthew, Brian and Bruce Miller, Matt Purcell, Joe McHugo and Stephen Greisinger.

Interment was at Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

James Morris

Funeral service for James "Jim" W. Morris, 68, Coon Rapids, took place June 20 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.

Morris died June 13, 2005. He was retired from the Star Tribune, a pilot and a skydiver.

He is survived by his wife, Rozanne; daughters, Shari (Laurie) Morris and Cindy; brother, Tom (Marilyn) Morris; sister, Joanne; mother, Ruth; and extended family, Travis, LaShaunda, Josalyn and their families.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Orvin Nestrud

Funeral service for Orvin M. Nestrud, 84, East Bethel, took place June 15 at Oak Haven Church, Ham Lake. Revs. Fred Tuma and Randy Stauter officiated.

Nestrud died June 12, 2005 at Birchwood Health Care Center, Forest Lake. He was born Oct. 22, 1920 in Jackson to Olaf and Mathilda Nestrud. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He and his wife were foster parents to numerous children throughout the years and he was employed as a custodian at Park High School in Cottage Grove and was the head custodian at Aitkin High School.

He is survived by his sons, Gayle Nestrud and his Kathie of Largo, Fla., Dean Nestrud and wife Cathy of Morton, Ill., Tim Nestrud and wife Rana of Ramsey; daughter, Connie Hendrickson and husband Dave of East Bethel; foster daughter, Jenny Knauber and husband Dave of Coon Rapids; brothers, Leonard and wife Muriel of Stillwater, Floyd and wife Marie of Stillwater, Donald and wife Ginny of Hudson, Wis.; sisters, Pearl Grove of St. Paul, Ardis Swenson and husband John of River Falls, Wis., Irene Waxon and husband Vern of Hudson, Wis., Anita Smith and husband Gailen of Stillwater, Marlyce Huppert and husband Allen of Prescott, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; brothers, Maynard and Truman; and infant sister, Muriel.

Pallbearers were John Byrne, Erik Devere, Eric and Jonathan Hendrickson, Nathaniel Knauber and Aaron, Brendon, Jason, Jordan, Mikk, Ryan and Sean Nestrud.

Interment was at Glory Baptist Cemetery in Aitkin. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel.

Orphie Pekula

Funeral service for Orphie Lillian Pekula, 57, Champlin, took place June 22 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Norman R. Berg officiated.

Pekula died June 17, 2005. She was born July 9, 1947 in Rothsay to Oscar Alexander and Lila (Nelson) Ronningen. She was a punch press operator at Swanson Tool & Die Inc.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Michelle (Tim) Hanson, Jeffrey Pekula and Melissa Pekula; grandchildren, Nicolette, Miranda and Devin Hanson, Alex Pekula; brother, Lyle (Rose) Lerbakken; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lila Ronningen; and sisters, Lorraine Anderson, Arlene Haugstad and Jane Lyden.

Pallbearers were Keith and Craig Olson, Greg and Brian Lerbakken, Terry Pekula and Tim Tarnowski.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Tristin Ramacher

Funeral service for Tristin Jo Marie Ramacher, 3 1/2 months, Anoka, will take place today (Friday, June 24) at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

She died June 19, 2005 at Minneapolis Children's Hospital from a bacterial infection. She was born March 6, 2005 in Fridley to Kristina Ramacher and Travis Morgan.

She is survived by her mother, Krissy Ramacher; father, Travis Morgan; grandparents, "Grammacita" Cindy Barger, Alan "Hooker" Ramacher, Joe Morgan and Laura Lee Burgess; aunts and uncles, Holly Jo, Derek and Dusty Ramacher, Ron, Jeremy and Jordon Morgan; and many other family.

Pallbearers were Derek and Dusty Ramacher.

Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Lyle Rhine

Funeral service for Lyle H. Rhine "Terry, " 67, Lino Lakes, took place June 13 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Martin officiated.

Rhine died June 8, 2005 in Fridley. He was born Aug. 12, 1937 in Hibbing to Lyle and Ethel Rhine and was self-employed.

He is survived by his children, Linda (Tom) Torguson, Bruce (Alice), Terry (LeAnn), Michael (Mary) and Debbie (Ella) Rhine; six stepchildren; 33 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis, Jeff and Chris Rhine; and sister, Judy Hanners.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

John Rudebeck

Funeral service for John J. Rudebeck, 54, Coon Rapids, took place June 23, 2005 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Rozanne; daughters, Cindy and Sandy; and sisters, Frances and Mary Rudebeck, Rose Thompson, all of Waseca, Rita Rudebeck of Minneapolis.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
