Cynthia Rathman, 45, of St. James, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, in St. James.
Services are 4 p.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, and 1-4 p.m. Friday at the church. There will be a CCW rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by son, Edward A. Rathman Jr. of Bingham Lake; daughter, Ann and husband Don Branstedt of Windom; brothers and sisters, June Morgan of Madelia, Gordon and Connie Ellanson of LeCenter, Judy Murilla of Mankato, Ted Ellanson of Madelia, Kelly Ellanson of Evanston, Wyo., Vicki and Duane Larson of Spanaway, Wash., Allen Ellanson of New Castle, Wyo. and Eugene and Deb Rusten of Madelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Ted Ellanson.
She was born Oct. 15, 1953, in Madelia, to Hans and Jeanette (Vee) Ellanson. She attended schools in Hanska and Madelia. She married Edward Rathman on Aug. 28, 1971, in St. James.They lived in St. James. She worked at Downs Foods, ST Industries, Ben Franklin, Pamida and St. James Automotive/Westin Industries. She also worked as a day care provider, did housekeeping and was a custodian at St. James schools. She was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church and the church circle.

Fred Luessenhop, 84, of Everett, Washington formerly of Morton, died on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 in Everett, Wash.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today will continue on Saturday from 8:30 am until time of service at the Nelson Funeral Home.
He is survived by a son, Alynn Luessenhop and fiance Dori of Mukilteo, Wash.; and a sister, Irene Wegner and husband Les of Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Erwin; and a sister, Verna.
He was born on March 30, 1915, in Morton to Herman and Agnes (Hess) Lussenhop. He graduated from Morton High School and attended a year at the University of Minnesota Agriculture School. He had a black smith shop in Morton with his brother Erwin. He entered the service in 1942 until 1945 serving in the Army Air Corps in Alaska. He moved to Las Angeles, Calif. and was married to Joan Reece. He had a printing business in Los Angeles and then moved to Pasadena. He retired to Newport Beach, Calif., at the age of 65. He then spent most of his time converting automobiles to electrical power. He played trombone in college and in the air corps. He had recently lived in the Bethany Nursing Home in Everett, Wash.

Charles F. "Charlie" Stolz, 73, of 1230 2nd North Street in New Ulm died Thursday at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery, Soldiers Rest Section, in New Ulm. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to time of service at the church.
He is survived by his wife Marion Stolz of New Ulm; son Jim Stolz of rural Courtland and his special friend Terry Thomas of New Ulm; sisters Hazel Alfons of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ruth Stolz of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Marian Klaseus.
He was born July 22, 1926 in Rochester to Frederick and Hazel (Hughes) Stolz. In 1944 he graduated from the Nicollet Public High School in Nicollet. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the USS Lander in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946. On Oct. 17, 1953 he married Marion Pehling at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. After marriage they lived in New Ulm. He worked for a short period at Truth Tool in Mankato before being employed at the New Ulm Manufacturing Company in New Ulm where he continued to work a machinist and later as a machine tester through owners Ray-Go Manufacturing and later Caterpiller until retiring in 1992.

Adeline "Addie" Hanson, 80, of Madelia died Wednesday September 15, 1999 at the Lake Crystal Health CareCenter.
Services will be 10:30 a.m.. Saturday at Linden Lutheran Church in Hanska. Burial will follow after the funeral luncheon in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and Orient Chapter # 60, Order of the Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m. at the Firle Funeral Home in Hanska and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband Jerome Hanson of Madelia; daughter Edythe Dankert of Brooklyn Center; son Wayne Brudelie and his wife Jeanne of Hanska; two grandsons with their wives, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; brother Wallace Hetle and his wife Joyce of Madelia; other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Daryl in 1948; first husband Walter Brudelie; son-in-law Ron Dankert.
She was the daughter of Henry and Elvina (Sander) Hetle, born Aug. 19, 1919 in Belview. She graduated in 1937 from Hanska High School. She then attended two years of teacher's training. She taught in rural Hanska school district for several years. She married Walter Brudelie in 1944. Walter passed away in 1959. In 1963 she married Jerome Hanson at the Rice Lake Church in Linden. They resided in Linden Township, farming until retiring in 1984, when they moved to Madelia.

Maronius Gerard "M.G." Wersal, 78, of Springfield, died Friday, September 17, 1999, at the Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
There will a Parish Prayer Service 7 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home and a men's Rosary at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his children Creighton Wersal and Sandra Hyde, PhD. of Mankato, Andrew and Joette Wersal of Minnesota Lake, Mark and Wendy Wersal of Robbinsdale, Gregory and Cheryl Wersal of Golden Valley and Lisa Wersal and Lewis Asher of Vadnsis; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Therese Wersal of Robbinsdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Leoma in 1994; daughter Alexie in infancy; grandson James; brother Adrian and sister Ludmilla Macht.
He was born June 19, 1921 in Springfield to Andrew and Rose (Fischer) Wersal. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1938. On June 17, 1943 he married Leoma Wright in Clements. Following marriage, the couple lived and farmed in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County. He retired to Springfield in 1995. He was a member of St. Joesph's Catholic in Clements and St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, both of which he was very active and supportive. He was also a member of Catholic Aid, Knights of Columbus, and Lions Club in Clements.

Arthur J. Brunner, 96, of Sauk Rapids, died Friday, September 17, 1999 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church, Luxemburg with burial in the church cemetery. A Parish prayers will be 7 p.m. Sunday.
He is survived by his daughters, Aieleen Pauluch of Ivanhoe, Arleen Paluch of Lake Benton, LaVonne Lommel of Red Wing, son DuWayne of Luxemburg; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; brother Al Brunner of Cold Spring.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta in 1978; brothers Benedict, Norbert, Hilary and William; sisters Lucy Klingler, Leona Brunner, and Clara Brunner.
He was born Feb. 21, 1903 in New Ulm to Joseph and Appolonia (Schweiss) Brunner. He married Loretta Causin on Oct. 16, 1928 in Rhoda. He was employed for many years by the John Deere Company, working in Regal, Paynesville, St. Cloud and Little Falls facilities until retiring in 1965. He then moved to Luxemburg, were he was employed by St. Wendelin's Catholic Church and School as a Custodial Engineer. He lived in Regal from 1928-1943. He then moved to Luxemburg in 1965 and lived there until 1979. He returned to St. Cloud in 1979, and became a resident of Good Shepherd Nursing Home in 1993.

Janice L. Wendland, 56, of Loretto, originally from Springfield, died September 16, 1999 in St. Louis Park.
Services will be Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2060 6th Ave. North, Long Lake with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave. North and Vicksburg Lane, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband Bernie Wendland, daughter Connie Bouley of Minneapolis; sons, Scott and his wife Teresa of Minneapolis, Craig and his fiancee Danyell Beck of Minneapolis; one granddaughter, three step-grandsons; mother, Norma (Voge) and step-father, George Freeman of Springfield; brothers, Arlon Voge and wife Linda of Bismarck, N.D., Darvin Voge and wife Kay of Springfield, and other relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or the Red Cross Tissue Donation.

James John Mausling, 45, of St. James died on Sept. 15, 1999 in Minneapolis.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
He is survived by brothers and sisters; Charles and wife Sharon Mausling of Montrose, Iowa, Jeanette and husband Darrell Oskerson of St. James, Rose Ann and husband Ray Sender of Louisville, Kan., Viola Mausling of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Jerry and wife Char Mausling of St. James, and David Mausling of San Diego, Calif; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Knaack, brother-in-law Jeff Knaack and two infant sisters, Sharon and Karen.
He was born March 2, 1954 in Madelia to Carl and Josephine (Fountaine) Mausling. He grew up and attended school in St. James. After he completed his schooling he worked at Tony Downs Foods, Butterfield Foods, Voss Farms, Olson Engineering and at Park Apartments as a custodian. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and the St. James Eagles Club.

Joseph Michael Healy, 32, of Kenyon, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, September. 17, 1999 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kenyon.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in rural Kenyon.
He is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn Healy of Waseca; parents; maternal grandmother Margaret Hanson of Rochester; brother John Healy of Claremont; sisters, Denise Ellingson and husband Roger of Dodge Center, and Susal Fluegel and husband Dave of Kenyon, nieces and nephews.
He was born Oct. 5, 1966 in Ramsey County to Christopher and Shirley Healy. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1985 and attended the University of Minnesota at Waseca for two years. He then served five years in the U.S. Navy and took part in the Gulf War. After milllitary service, he attended Mankato State University. He set state records in high school and college in the high jump, and was the Minnesota State Champion high jumper his senior year in high school. He was on the Navy track team and competed in Finland, Rome and the Phillipines.

Lawrence Ebert, 91, of New Ulm died Wednesday evening at Oakhills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour before services at the church.
He is survived by his son Curtis Ebert of New Ulm, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Leola; daughter LaVonne; one brother; five sisters; daughter-in-law Ardelle Ebert.
He was born Dec. 11, 1907 in Bernadotte Township to Herman and Mathilda (Precht) Ebert. He married Leola (Jutz) Nov. 25, 1931 in the St. Paul's Rectory in Nicollet. Following marriage the couple lived near Swan Lake. They moved to New Ulm in 1932. He worked at Eagle Roller Mill. He also worked as a drain tile installer and worked with John Heymann Construction. He retired in 1969. He became a resident of Lake Crystal Nursing Home in 1994. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Loretta B. Harmening, 88, of Sunset Apartments in New Ulm died Friday, September 17, 1999 at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and will continue 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota
Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cleo and Walter Koester of New Ulm; grandchildren, Russel Koester, Mary Koester, and Tom Koester and his wife Debbie all of New Ulm; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly, and Katie Koester all of New Ulm; brothers and sister-in-law Ralph and Marvel Boesch of New Ulm, Otto Boesch of Hammond, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Verna Boesch, Muriel "Tottie" Boesch, and Eleanor "Sis" Harmening all of New Ulm; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alwin Harmening, in 1970; sister, Flossie Hensel; brothers Robert and Ewald Boesch; twin brothers, Leo and Leander Boesch.
She was born Nov. 12, 1910 in New Ulm to Robert and Mary (Zangl) Boesch, Sr. She married Alwin Harmening on May 3, 1934 at the parsonage of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She worked at the Wearwell Garment Factory in New Ulm for many years until it closed and then worked at Kraft in New Ulm until her retirement.
