Ann Johnson, 91, of Milroy, died Friday, May 18, 2001 at the Tracy Nursing Home, Tracy.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 a. m. until services at the church Monday.
Redwood Valley Funeral Home of Redwood Falls is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by sons, Jerry and wife Rosie Johnson of Milroy, and David & wife Theresa Johnson of Milroy, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a step great granddaughter; sisters, Betty O'Connor and husband Jim of Minneapolis, and Josephine Routhe & husband Tom of Minneapolis, and sister-in-law, Sally Soupir of Wimbledon, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son and a daughter in infancy, a grandson, brothers Henry, Frank and Anton, and sisters Mary, Agnes and Phil.
She was born July 10, 1909 in Westline Township, Redwood County, to Peter and Catherine (Wilt) Soupir. She married Henry Johnson on Jan. 14, 1933, in Minneapolis. The couple farmed in the Milroy area. Henry died on April 12, 1944. Ann continued to farm and raise livestock until moving to Minneapolis in 1959. She returned to Milroy a couple of years later. In 1965 she returned to Minneapolis where she did housekeeping. In 1982 she moved to Milroy. She became a resident of the Tracy Nursing Home in November 1997.

Emil Bullert, 93, of Arlington, died on Friday, May 18, 2001, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial in Buffalo Lake City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the church service Tuesday.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Glenn Meyer of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Judy Bullert of Boulder, Colo.; son-in-law David Peterson of Buffalo Lake; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and spouses, Raymond and Bea Koester of Glencoe, and Arthur Schuette of Glencoe; and sisters-in-law Irene Brumm of Rochester, Alice Koester of Gaylord, and Inez Koester of Green Isle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gertrude; daughter Marilyn Petersen; and 11 brothers and sisters.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1907, to Gottfried and Wilhelmine (Bruch) Bullert in Green Isle Township, Sibley County. He married Gertrude E. Koester on april 30, 1930, in Glencoe. The couple then farmed the Bullert family farm until selling it in 1947 and moving to Glencoe. They then moved to Arlington and soon after to Buffalo Lake where Emil became a partner in the Bullert-Howe Hardware store. In 1963, after the death of his partner, Bullert renamed the business the Bullert Coast to Coast Hardware. In 1974, the couple retired and lived in Buffalo Lake until moving to Arlington in 1995. In 1991, he moved to the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.

Helen Van Roekel, 72, of Redwood Falls died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Services will be Tuesday, May 22 at 1 p.m. at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with burial in Crestlawn Memorlal Garden. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerritt, sisters, brothers, and very special friend Robert Dahlberg.
She was born June 21, 1928 in Wise County, Va., to Garva and Vina (Collier) Poff. She married Gerritt Van Roekel and lived in Worthington until his death on March 29,1987. Helen worked at Bedford Industries in Worthington for 10 years. On Oct. 28, 1988 she met Robert Dahlberg through the Lonely Hearts Club. A year later, Helen and Robert purchased a farm site in Redwood Falls where they lived until their deaths. Although she did not have any children of her own, she cared for several nieces, nephews, and foster children.

Ervel Bode, 85, of Courtland, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife, Lorna Bode, of Courtland; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Dennis Wills of Nicollet and LaVonne and Ronald Dahltorp of Lake Crystal;son and daughter-in-law, Reuben and Judy Bode, of Courtland; son-in-law, Wayne Luepke, of Courtland; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Luepke; sister, Alma Pehling; and brothers, Herman, Otto, Paul, Emil, George, Lawrence, and Carl Bode.
He was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to Karl and Anna (Dallmann) Bode. On Sept. 29, 1938, he married Lorna Stolt at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland. They farmed in Courtland Township until 1970 when they moved into Courtland. He retired from farming in 1977. In July of 1996 he became a resident of the Grandview Care Center in St. Peter. He moved to Oak Hills Living Center on Sept. 10, 1997. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland where he held many offices.

Mabel Myers, 95, of Madelia died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, rural Blue Earth, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour prior to the church service.
She is survived by daughter, Donna and Irving Richards of Long Prairie; stepdaughter, Irene Morgan of Austin; stepsons, Bill (Randy) and Audrey Myers of Blue Earth, Jack and Joan Myers of Orange City, Calif., and Gene and Char Myers of Rush City; nine grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law, Una Fenske and Fran Fenske.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; three sons; and a grandson.
She was born on July 6, 1905, to Frank and Christina (Larsen) Hasseldahl in Rake, Iowa. She attended school in Rake. She married Harry Fenske on Dec. 27, 1923, in Rake. They farmed in rural Blue Earth until his death in 1953. She married George Myers in 1955, and they farmed in rural Ogilvie until his death in 1973. She moved to Long Prairie in 1975 and to Madelia in 1995. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and ladies' groups. She made hats for newborn babies in the local hospital and volunteered at the food pantry.

Gerald G. Renner, 75, of Winthrop and formerly of Gaylord, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial with full military honors in Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
He is survived by sister, Ruby Renner, Winthrop Good Samaritan Center; and by many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Raymond Renner.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1925, to Emil and Sophie (Groehler) Renner in Minneapolis. He attended school in Nicollet and Sibley counties. He farmed with his father in rural Gaylord. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in from September 1951 to April 1952. He worked at the Green Giant plant in Winthrop and continued farming until his retirement. He moved to Sibley Estates West in Winthrop where he lived until moving into Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in 1992. He was a member of Winthrop American Legion Post 314.

Hattie Schotzko, 92, of Minneota and formerly of Comfrey, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Minneota Manor.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, with burial in Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Sturm Funeral Home.
She is survived by daughters Marie and Craig Eidem of Elk Point, S.D., and Myra and Jim Baune of Marshall; grandchildren, Sarah Rademacher, John and Anne Marie Eidem; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; and five sisters.
Hattie Sylvia Schotzko was born on April 23, 1909, to Charles and Ida (Anderson) Elg in Selma Township, Cottonwood County. She grew up and graduated from high school in Comfrey. She married Arthur M. Schotzko on Oct. 24, 1937, in Comfrey. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Comfrey. She moved from Comfrey to Minneota Manor in 1998. She was an active member of WELCA Ecumenical Bible Class and taught Sunday School for many years.

Donald A. Hildebrandt, 60, of Arlington died on Sunday, May 20, 2001, at his home.
Services are 5 p.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial in Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to church service.
Fenske Funeral Homes, Arlington handled arrangements.
He is survived by his father Arthur Hildebrandt; daughter and sons-in-law, Kris and Kent Mehlhop and Karri and Doug DeBlois, all of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kelly Hildebrandt of Arlington; sister Audrey Serbus of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Mary Lou Hildebrandt of Redwood Falls; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn; and son Perry.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1940, to Arthur and Evelyn (Hanson) Hildebrandt in Clinton. He graduated from Olivia High School in 1958. He worked as a welder for Sterner Industries in Winsted and at LeSueur Butter & Cheese and Creative Tool in Belle Plaine.

Margaret E. Johnson, 81, of Spearfish, S.D., and formerly of Winthrop, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith United Church in Winthrop, with burial in Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service Friday.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling arrangements.

Stanley Schorn, 64, of 1218 Birchwood Drive in New Ulm, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Schorn of New Ulm; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Douglas Johnson of Kyle, Texas, Dennis and Sheri Johnson of Madelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Allen Johnson of Raymond, Regina and Robert Shaffer of DeBary, Fla.; brothers, Vincent and LaRayne Schorn, and Jake and Mary Lou Schorn all of Willmar, Robert and Gladys Schorn of Raymond, Gene and Janice Schorn of Bloomington, Philip Schorn of Park Rapids; sister-in-law, Margaret Schorn of Clara City; brother-in-law, Thomas Worms of Lakeview, Ark.; and 42 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anthony "Bud" Schorn; sister, Susan Worms; and a niece.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1936, in Woods Township, Chippewa County, to Jacob and Kathryn (Thissen) Schorn. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1954. He attended Canby Vocational School. He married Lois Johnson on Aug. 11, 1984, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He farmed prior to attending vocational school and then worked in Blue Earth, Clara City, Albert Lea and Webster City, Iowa. He became disabled in 1999. They moved to New Ulm in July of 2000. He has battled mantle cell lymphoma since 1997.
He was a past member of the Single & Solos Club of Mankato and Olivia. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm and the Knights of Columbus Council 1076 in New Ulm.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Arnold Ellanson, of Lake Crystal, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Linden Lutheran Church in rural Hanska, with burial with full military honors in church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, 8-10:30 a.m. Friday at Firle Funeral Home in Hanska and one hour prior to church service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred w. johnson; sons, Duane and Bob Johnson; brothers. Clarence and Harry Totman; and sister. May Kaintz.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1919, to Fred L. and Bessie (Waggoner) Totman in Winthrop. She attended Winthrop public schools. She married Fred W. Johnson on June 9, 1937, in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County. The couple farmed the Johnson family farm in Bernadotte. They moved to Transit Township where they farmed until retiring and moving to Winthrop in 1970. She continued to live in Winthrop after her husband's death until moving to Spearfish, S.D., in the 1990s. She was a member of Faith United Church and United Women's Society in Winthrop. She also was a member of Winthrop Nutrition Site Council and was on the Winthrop Senior Citizens Board. She also helped organize a Meals on Wheels program for the Winthrop area. She and her husband taught square dancing and round dancing and belonged to local square dancing clubs and Polka Lovers of America Club.

Leo F. Dittrich, 67, of 1119 S. Franklin St., New Ulm, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at his home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. John's Court of the Catholic Order of Foresters will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Dittrich of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Rick Kamm and Lisa and Jeff Gulden, all of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Lori Dittrich of Nicollet and John and Diane Dittrich of Shorewood; eight grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine Herzog of New Ulm, Agnes Griffiths of Mankato, Alice and Dennis Blomquist of Mankato, Darlene and Tom Gleisner of Clayton, Calif.; brothers and sister-in-law, Stan and Leona Dittrich of New Ulm and Les Dittrich and friend Jackie Eckert, both of rural Kasota..
He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Kim Dittrich; nephew, Greg Herzog; and brothers-in-law, Richard Herzog and William Griffiths.
He was born July 24, 1933, in Sigel Township, Brown County, to John and Emma (Kretsch) Dittrich. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 in Germany. He married Elizabeth Tauer on July 9, 1960, at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. He worked for Kraft Foods in New Ulm for 40 years until retiring in 1995. Leo was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Turner Club, American Legion Post 132, New Ulm Country Club, and St. John's Court of the Catholic Order of Foresters where he was a past chief ranger. He officiated high school football, baseball, basketball and softball games in the New Ulm area and served as an election judge in New Ulm.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Lake Crystal; son, Ronald Ellanson and his wife Barbara of Rochester; daughters, Rosanne Altenburg and her husband Gary of Vernon Center, Rosmary Nuss and her husband Lyman of Dorrance, Kan., Rosalyn Chamberlen and her husband Michael of Madelia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Ellanson and his wife Linnea of Glencoe; brothers-in-law, Ordell Vee of Hanska, Arvid Vee of Hanska, and Harlan Vee of Shakopee; sisters-in-law, Vera Larson and her husband Orville of Waterville, Beatrice Schwingler and her husband Robert of Darwin; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Hans, Alvin and Marvin Ellanson; and sisters, Clara, Mabel and Pearl Sandberg.
He was born Sept. 27, 1918 in Linden Township, Brown County, to Albert and Mary (Throldahl) Ellanson. He attended District 7 school. He entered the United States Army Oct. 20, 1941 serving in the Central Pacific Theater during World War II. He received the Purple Heart, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal, and several other medals. Following his honorable discharge July 30, 1945, he returned to the area. He married Lorraine Vee on Oct. 3, 1947, at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church parsonage. He worked in St. James and for the Lake Crystal Co-op and Lake Crystal School. He and his wife farmed for several years, and moved into Lake Crystal in 1968. He worked for the Mankato Post Office, retiring in 1982. He became a resident of the St. James Good Samaritan Center in 1999, and entered the St. Peter Community Health Care Center in March. He was a member of Linden Lutheran Church of Hanska, and a life member of the D.A.V.
