Adeline Becker, 97, of Glencoe, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 at Glencoe Area Health Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church Mountville, rural Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbert and Helen Becker of Brownton, Ernest and Arleen Becker of Gaylord, Alfred H. and Marlys Becker of Glencoe, Harvey and Elaine Becker of Glencoe; daughter and son-in-law Marlys (Barfknecht) and Henry Seil of Glencoe; daughter-in-law, Zelda Becker or Arlington; brothers, Ernest and Lillie Pischke of Hutchinson, Gerhard Pischke of Glencoe; sister, Martha Schultz of Brownton, Marie and Marvin Duenow of Green Isle, Lillie Lindeman of Brownton; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her spouse in 1977; parents; son, Clarence; sister-in-law, Gertrude Pischke, half-brother Edward Pischke; brothers-in-law, Adolph Schultz and Arthur Lindeman.
She was born May 7, 1904, in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, to Carl and Marie (Grack) Pischke. She married Alfred Becker on Dec. 6, 1922, at Evangelical Zion Lutheran Church in New Auburn Township. She attended school in New Auburn Township. They farmed In Penn Township, McLeod County, on the Becker homestead. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church (Mountville) rural Gaylord and former member of the Ladies Aid. She was a charter member of Pioneer Senior Citizens of New Auburn. In 1961 they moved into New Auburn. In January of 2000 she moved to Glencoe to live with her daughter.

Lorraine Johnson, 84, of Gaylord have been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at United Church of Christ, Gaylord.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at United Church of Christ, Gaylord with burial in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband Clayton of Gaylord; daughter, Candy Swenson and husband Donny of Gaylord; son, Dr. Brian Johnson and wife Kate of Vancouver, Wash; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat- grandchildren.
She was preceded death by her parents.
She died Sept. 9, 2001, at Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
She was born July 31, 1917, in Minneapolis to Floyd and Edna (Sandberg) Kiesling. She graduated Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1936 and Minneapolis School of Business in 1938. She married Clayton Johnson on Sept.16, 1939, at Lake Nakomis Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. She traveled across the country as a professional acrobat and ballet dancer. They lived in Minneapolis. From 1943 to 1949 they lived at various military bases while her husband was in the U.S. Air Force. In 1946, they purchased the Gaylord Feed Mill. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Gaylord where she taught Sunday School and served with the Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the Gaylord Bowling League and the only woman to bowl a perfect 300 game at El Toro Bowl in Gaylord.

Werner D. Ulferts, 67, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at his home.
Services 10:30 am. Thursday at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato.
Graveside service is 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Jerusalem Cemetery, rural Lake Crystal.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of rural Lake Crystal; children, Warren and wife, Jane Ulferts of Kiester, Cyndi and husband, Randy Wetzel of New Richland Jeff and wife, Kathy Ulferts of Forest City, Lisa Ulferts of Wells Bryan and wife, Stephanie Ulferts of Waseca, Mark and wife, AnnMarie Ulferts of Waseca; stepchildren, Nicole and husband, Greg Garbers of Mankato, Eddie and wife, Yvonne Anton of San Diego, Calif, and Jason Anton of Vista, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Daryl and wife, Valerie Ulferts of Bloomington, Leon and wife, Rita Ulferts of Brooklyn Park many nieces and nephews
He was pre-ceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd.
He was born May 24, 1934, in Fulda to Peter and Luella (Wiener) Ulferts. He graduated from Fulda High School in 1952 and from Worthington Junior College in accounting. He married Marjorie Boomgarden on Nov. 22, 1953 in Fulda. They later divorced. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. On Feb. 14, 1992, he married Linda Anderson Anton at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. He was a firefighter for 20 years with the Wells Fire Department. He worked as night auditor for the Best Western in North Mankato.He was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. He was a former member of the Albert Lea Moose Lodge and a current member of the Mankato Moose Lodge, VFW Post 950 in Mankato, American Legion Post 210 in Wells.

Frank J. Gostonczik, 88, of Kasota, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at his home.
Funeral mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nativity, in Cleveland with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Klein Funeral Home of St. Peter with a 7 p.m. prayer service and continues one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
He is survived by daughters, Lorraine and husband John Klaseus, of North Mankato, Janet Gostonczik. of Mankato, sons, Francis "Gus" and wife Mary Gostonczik, of Osage., Iowa and Jerry and wife Kathryn Gostonczik, of St. Peter; sister, Elzebet Ambrie, of Glencoe; brother, George and wife Shirley Gostonczik, of Kasota; sister-in-law, Lucille Gostonczik of New Ulm; brother-in-law, Jerry Moline, of St. Peter; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in October 1994; son, William; two grandchildren; brothers: John, Anthony, Joseph and Edward; and sisters, Frances, Agnes and Pearl.
He was born on July 17, 1913, in Lexington Le Sueur County, Minnesota, to Frank and Helen (Blank) Gostonczik. He attended country school. He farmed most of his life in Le Sueur County, Kasota Township. He married Catharine Regenscheid, on April 18,1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Peter. He retired from farming in 1982. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity.

Reinhart Zellmer, 91, of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Congregational Church, Sleepy Eye with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
He is survived by his brother, Willard of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Esther Zellmer of Sleepy Eye and Eunice and husband Stanley Larson of Hillman; nieces and nephews, great-nephews and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Alma Zellmer and a brother, Melvin.
He was born on April 29, 1910, on the family farm near Evan to Ernest and Alma (Dobberstein) Zellmer. He attended District 58 country school. He farmed on the family farm. He lived in Sleepy Eye for 18 years. He moved to the Sleepy Eye Care Center in March. He was a member of Union Congregational Church, Sleepy Eye.

Rosa Schultz, 96 of Belle Plaine, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday, at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plain.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Kolden-Fenske Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continues Friday, one hour prior to service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Schultz in 1976; son-in-law, Arvid Haas; granddaughter, Sheryl Jean Haas; sisters, Augusta, Mary, Minnie, and Hannah; and brothers, Julius, Fred, Herman, Gustav, John, and Daniel.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pearl Jane and Lester Bruesehoff of Young America; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Marcella Schultz of Arlington, John and Charlotte Schultz of Lakeville, and Lyle and Caro Schultz of Jordan; 13 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, Rodney Stein, Gary Bruesehoff, John Bruesehoff, and James Bruesehoff, 12 great-grandchildren, seven stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was born, on Dec. 9, 1904, in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County, to Fred and Marie (Petersdorf) Laabs. She married Victor Schultz on Nov. 15, 1928, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. They farmed south of Belle Plaine until 1965 when they moved to Belle Plaine.

Maguerite Lucille Ahrens, 78, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
A private family memorial service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morton United Methodist Church with burial at Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Homes in Redwood Falls and one hour before the service at the church.
She is survived by husband, Marvin Ahrens of rural Redwood Falls; daughters, Sandy Morse and husband Bill of Little Falls; Donna Dethlefs of Redwood Falls, Pat Albers and husband John of Redwood Falls, Sherri Ahrens-Ness and husband Paul of Redwood Falls; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; halfbrothers Kenneth Sweesy of Billing, Mont. and Vernon Sweesy of Littleton, Colo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen "Barney" Sweesy; and halfbrothers Jerry and Jimmy Sweesy.
She was born on April 17, 1923, in Paxton Township, Redwood County, to Claire and Carrie (Ave) Sweesy. She lived in Redwood Falls moved to Mitchell, S.D., and then returned to Redwood Falls. She attended school in District 5. She married Marvin Ahrens on March 5, 1942, in Redwood Falls. They lived in North Redwood until 1948, when they moved to a farm in Beaver Falls. They returned to Redwood Falls in 1968 and moved back to a farm in Beaver Falls in 1985. She worked as a nurses' aide for 16 years at Redwood County Nursing Home. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. E.J. Alboree and Dr. Gregory Hammers of Redwood Falls. She started her own business, Ma's Kitchen, where she made pies and other baked goods. She also worked for Food Gallery of Redwood Falls and as a coordinator for the Morton Senior Center in Morton. She was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Herbert G. Grau, 83, of Little Falls, formerly of New Ulm, Gibbon, Fairfax and Lafayette, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at St. Otto's Care Center Little Falls.
Services were Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Belle Prairie with burial in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Shelley Funeral chapels, Little Falls.
He is survived by his stepsons, Jeffrey (Deanna) Vichorek of Moose Lake, John (Sara) Vichorek of Seattle, Wash., David (Debra) Vichorek of Maple Grove; stepdaughter, Patricia (Robert) Otremba of New Hope; 11 stepgrandchildren and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Priscilla on April 7, 1999; twin brother Henry; an infant sister and a stepgrandson.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1917, in New Ulm, to Frank and Anna (Dietz) Grau. He worked as a farm hand and became a supervisor for five years for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (D.H.I.A.). He also served as its president for many years. When the D.H.I.A. was organized, he was elected district director and later a member of the Minnesota Board of Directors. Later, he started dairy farming in Lafayette. He moved to rural Little Falls. He married Priscilla Vichorek on April 6, 1974, in Belle Prairie. He was a member of township A.S.C. committees for 10 years. He was a field man for the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation. He belonged to the Farm Bureau.

John Kleindl, 41, of 918 N. Washington in New Ulm, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at his home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-1:30 p.m. Sunda at the funeral home.
He is survived by friends, Gwenn Peters, Bev Fite, Ken Nystrom, and Laneta Farr; and also by many other friends at M.B.W.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1960, in St. Paul. He attended special education classes in Faribault for 12 years. He lived most of his life at the Faribault Regional Treatment Center before moving to New Ulm on Aug. 8, 1996. He was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm where he was involved with the Bible School. He was a member of the People's First in New Ulm and did volunteer work at the Franklin Nursing Home. He was the editor for the MBW Newsletter, and made crafts for Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, the Washington House and the New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary.
Memorials are preferred to, People First, Christ the King Sunday School, or mourners may bring food items for the Food Shelf.

Evelyn Marie Evans Olson, 87, of 1226 N. Jefferson in New Ulm died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and continues 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. today at the Cathedral, and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Roman Hacker of New Ulm, Wilburette "Willie" Osgood of New Ulm, Anastasia Olson of Chicago, Ill., Felicitas "Tish" and John Vander Ham of Madison Heights, Mich., Naomi Olson of Rochester; sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbur J. "Buzz" and Mary Lou Olson of Cameno Island, Wash., Eric and Terese Olson of Havre, Mont., and Jeff and Cathy Olson of New Ulm; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kathryn Olson of Redwood Falls, Mary Ann Olson of Wanda, Anna Evans of Redwood Falls, Verda Evans of Inverness, Montana, and Lucille and Arthur Kircher of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur J. Olson Sr. on Jan. 6, 1996; children, Euphemia, Rita, Renee, and Ephriam, all in infancy; daughter, Barbara Forbes on Oct. 12, 1995; and grandson, Gerard Osgood on Aug. 9, 1992 and 23 brothers and sisters.
She was born June 22, 1914, in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, to Ephriam and Anna (Schmitz) Evans. She married Wilbur J. Olson on June 22, 1932, at Our Lady of Ranson Catholic Church in Hingham, Montana. They lived in Goldstone, Mont., for seven years. They moved to Wanda in 1939 where they owned and operated "Rubes Rec." They moved to Springfield in 1951 and to New Ulm in 1963. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, Christian Mothers Society, New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary, and she was a Third Order Franciscan.
The family prefers memorials to the Wilbur and Evleyn Olson Scholarship Fund at the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools and the New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary.

Orville H. Zum Berge, 75, of rural Green Isle, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at his Washington Lake Township home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Burial with military honors is in St. Paul's Lutheran Church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the church service.
Arrangements are handled by Kolden-Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Michael and friend Barbara Kehn of New Ulm; daughters, Mary Ann Kaderabek and husband Gary of Jackson, Marcia Sapp and husband Wally, Jr. of South St. Paul, Monica Goettl and husband Ted of New Auburn; six grandchildren; brother, Dale and wife Gloria of Green Isle; sister, Lucille Hilliard of Crystal.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn son; and sister, Elaine Vogt.
He was born on June 22, 1926, in Green Isle Township, to Henry and Marie (Panning) Zum Berge.. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II and served in Japan for 13 months. He married Gladys Oelfke on Feb. 14, 1950, at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hamburg. He farmed for 35 years in Washington Lake Township in Sibley County. He worked for seven years at Bongard's Creamery and seven years at the Valley View Golf Course in Belle Plaine. He was a charter member of the Green Isle Lions Club, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6031 in Arlington, and American Legion Post 408 in Green Isle. He served 18 years on the Arlington-Green Isle School Board. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle, where he served on many committees.

Judy Miller, 52, of Lebanon, Ind., died on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Services were Wednesday at the Myers Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.
She is survived by sons, Tommy Miller and wife Michelle of Indianapolis, and Seth Miller of Lebanon; daughter, Julie Hine and husband David of Lebanon; mother, Juliet Brudelie of New Ulm; brothers, Arnie Smesmo and wife Sonja of Hanska, Gary Brudelie and wife Barbara of Minneapolis; sisters, Patty Anderson and husband Leslie of Burnsville, JoAnn Hendrickson and husband Bob of St. James, and Karen Boesch of New Ulm; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
She was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Madelia. She moved to Harrisburg, Ill. with her family in 1962 and graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1966. She married Raymond Miller in 1966 and moved to Indiana in 1970. She worked as a clerk at the McKamey Drug Store in Zionsville, Ind., and as a cashier for Marsh Crystal Food Service in Indianapolis until she retired. She was a member of the Living Word Christian Church, Frankfurt, Ind.

Aerial Becker, 87, of Buffalo Lake, died on Friday, Sept. 28, 2001,
at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Zion United Methodist Church, Buffalo Lake, with burial in the Zion Evangelical Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services at the church.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
She is survived by brothers, the Rev. Ray Boehlke and his wife Ruth of Fort Meyers, Fla. and Dr. Russell Boehke and his wife Donna of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sisters, Harriet Becker and her husband Lowell of Buffalo Lake, and Flora Hendrickson of Sartell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leroy; sister Dora Reep, and brothers-in-law Russell Reep and Pat Hendrickson.
She was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Grafton Township, Sibley County, to Fred and Emma (Mueller) Boehke. She grew up in Grafton Township and graduated with the Class of 1931 from the Stewart High School. She continued her education with Normal Teachers Training. She married Leroy "Bud" Becker on Sept. 25, 1936, at the Buffalo Lake Evangelical Church. After farming for ten years, they moved to Buffalo Lake and had a cabinet shop for ten years. The couple then moved to Duluth where they lived for 25 years before returning to Buffalo Lake. He died Feb. 9, 1981. In 1983, she was involved with the organizing committee to establish the Renville County Hospice program, which was incorporated in 1985. She then became the program's first volunteer.

Esther Mutsch, 82, of Madelia, died on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at First Baptist Church in Lake Crystal, with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her husband Edward; sons and wives, Edward and Kim of Woodbury, Brent and Maggie of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Greg and Luann of Pensacola, Fla.; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter; sister, Virginia Larson and brother James Roberts, both of Lake Crystal.
She was preceded in death by sister Verna Jones and brother Clayton Roberts.
She was born March 12, 1919, in Madelia, to Arch and Margaret (Cooling) Roberts. She grew up in rural Madelia and graduated from Madelia High School in 1938. She married Edward B. Mutsch on July 23, 1938. They lived in Madelia where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Madelia Shipping Association and also for Feder Plumbing and Heating. Later they owned and operated Mutsch's Bakery and Cafe in Madelia. She was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church in Madelia, where she served as deaconess and clerk. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Madelia Hospital Auxiliary and the Watonwan County Historical Society.
