SWEET

Jeanette Frances Sweet, 77, Lake Ozark, died Oct. 10, 1999, at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 24, 1922, in the state of Illinois, a daughter of George E. and Elizabeth Barbara Havel Sweet.

She was a retired clerk for a glass company and a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church

Survivors include: one daughter, Frances Proffer, Lake Ozark; one sister, Elizabeth "Toots" Mathes, Waterloo, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Heartland Worship Center, Camdenton. The Rev. Jerry O'Dell will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

SIMONS

Randy A. Simons, 18, Salt Lake City, formerly of Versailles, died Oct. 13, 1999, in Salt Lake City.

Arrangements are incomplete at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

PEROU

Genevieve Dickey Perou, 76, Fenton, died Oct. 14, 1999, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis.

She was married to Joseph Anthony Perou, who died in 1974.

She was a graduate of Forest Park Community College and was a registered nurse with the former Incarnate Word Hospital.

Survivors include: three daughters, Susan Perou, St. Louis, Nancy Hequembourg,  Jefferson City, and Janet Barlar, St. James; one son, Mark Perou, St. Louis; and five grandchildren.

Private services will be under the direction of Huffmeister Broadway Fitzgerald Chapel, St. Louis.

SMITH

Andrew Thomas Smith, infant son of Thomas and Karen Berning Smith,  Jefferson City, was born and died Oct. 14, 1999, in Columbia.

His parents survive at the home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia.

BIRDSONG

Helen Birdsong, 75, Kansas City, formerly of Clarksburg, died Oct. 17, 1999, at Carondelet Manor, Kansas City.

She was born March 21, 1924, in Cooper County, a daughter of William R. and Mary Elizabeth Long Arnold. Her mother survives in Lee's Summit. She was married March 7, 1959, in Kansas City, to Robert D. Birdsong, who died in 1969.

She graduated from Clarksburg High School in 1941, and received an associate degree in business from Kansas Metropolitan College. She was a revenue accounting clerk for Yellow Freight, Kansas City.

Other survivors include: one son, Keith Birdsong, Edwardsville, Kan.; one daughter, Linda Guhr, Lee's Summit; one sister, Lola M. Arnold, Kansas City; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 370, Dallas, Texas 75244.

HAGENHOFF

Robert Otto Hagenhoff, 58, Westphalia, died Oct. 18, 1999, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

He was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Meta, a son of Leo and Laura Rackers Hagenhoff. He was married June 8, 1963, in Westphalia, to Alvera Otto, who survives at the home.

He attended St. Cecilia Catholic School, Meta. He served in the Army Reserves and was a salesman at Capital Supply for 32 years. He then worked for Riback Supply for four years until his retirement in 1997.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, where he was a member of the Home and School Association and the Men's Sodality. He was a member of the Westphalia Knights of Columbus and the St. Jude Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer Bruns, Taos; one son, Doug Hagenhoff,  Jefferson City; one sister, Rosella Porting, Meta; six brothers, Virgil Hagenhoff, Westphalia, Eugene Hagenhoff, Centertown, Delmar Hagenhoff, St. Elizabeth, Frank Hagenhoff, Holts Summit, Richard Hagenhoff, Koeltztown, and Leonard Hagenhoff, Lee's Summit; and three grandchildren.

One daughter, Pamela Hagenhoff, died in 1965.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Robert Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Westphalia Knights of Columbus or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

OTT

Bertha A. Ott, 99, Russellville, died Oct. 18, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1900, in Russellville, a daughter of Adam and Rosina Jungmeyer Jahreis. She was married Jan. 16, 1923, in Lohman, to Albert J. Ott, who died Aug. 6, 1991.

A homemaker, she worked on the family farm. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville, where she belonged to WELCA (formerly the Ladies Aide). She was a member of the Van Pool Club, the Russellville Club and the Women's Progressive Farm Association.

Survivors include: two daughters, Dorothy Johnson, Russellville, and Pauline Del Genio, Medway, Mass.; one son, Raymond Ott, Campbell, Calif.; three sisters, Hulda Loesch,  Jefferson City, Ruth Rossbach, Monona, Iowa, and Anna Heidbreder, Minlow, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. The Rev. Nancy Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Russellville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Pavilion Renovation Fund.

RAYMON

James B. Raymon, 63, Sunrise Beach, died Oct. 17, 1999, at his home.

He was born March 30, 1936, in Howard, S.D., a son of Burnett and Leona Voletz Raymon. He was married June 17, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Prudence Peterson., who survives at the home.

He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1963 with a chemical engineering degree and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was active in the family business of Ramco Inc. and was a 50-year member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. He lived in the lake area for the past eight years and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Greenview.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Raymon, Cedar Rapids, and Timothy Raymon, Frankfort, Ill.; two daughters, Susan Waits, Eau Claire, Wis., and Julie Moller, Chicago; one brother, Richard Raymon, Cedar Rapids; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Greenview. The Rev. Robin Fish will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.

A private family prayer service will be held Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Community for Christ Building Fund, P.O. Box 204, Sunrise Beach, Mo. 65079; The Multiple Sclerosis Society, 14 Sunnen Drive, Suite 143, St. Louis, Mo. 63143; or the Lutheran Home for the Aged, 315 A Ave., Vinton, Iowa 52349.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

SMITH

Nellie Florence Smith, 82,  Jefferson City, died Oct. 18, 1999, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.

She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Isabell Station, a daughter of William T. and Dora Nichols Ball. She was married April 9, 1942, in Linn, to Harry C. Smith, who died Sept. 30, 1966.

A homemaker, she was a cook at Moreau Heights Elementary School for 10 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Melvin H. Smith, St. Louis, and Randal J. Smith,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Eileen S. Corbett, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Glenda M. Jourdon,  Jefferson City; one brother, William Raymond Ball, Hannibal; three sisters, Anna Belle Lietzow, Sedalia, and Flora Smith and Violet Ball, both of Linn; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church, Linn. Burial will be in Verdot Cemetery, Bonnots Mill.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to Verdot Cemetery Fund.

BECK

Herman A. Beck, 82,  Jefferson City, died Oct. 19, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1917, in Cole County, a son of Rilius J. and Alvina Sommerer Beck. He was married Jan. 25, 1953, in Cole County, to Barbara L. Miller, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended Trinity Lutheran School and  Jefferson City public schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was employed at Schriefers Office Equipment from 1945 until his retirement as co-owner in 1980.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek; the VFW, Roy Sone Post 1003; and Trinity Lutheran Alumni Association.

Other survivors include: one son, Garry G. Beck,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Hermetta S. Beck, Henley; and one brother, Edmund W. Beck,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell Bowder will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Honey Creek.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund or Cole County First Responders.
