FULKS
Harry B. Fulks, 88, Lancaster, Calif., died Oct. 16, 1999, in Lancaster.
He was born Feb. 26, 1911, in Latham, a son of Benjamin and Saber Hull Fulks. He was married to Thelma Fible, who died in 1979.
He was a member of Quartz Hill Christian Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Bonnie Long, Lancaster; four brothers; one sister; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Conn Funeral Home, Tipton.
Memorials are suggested to Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
HENDRICKS
Elmer Farris Hendricks, 83, Jamestown, died Oct. 22, 1999, at California Care Center.
He was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Henley, a son of John M. and Arreta Florence Wyrick Hendricks. He was married April 12, 1940, in St. Louis, to Helen May Brown, who survives at the home.
He was a farmer, a cabinetmaker and a laborer for J.B. Deeres. He also taught at Drury College in Springfield and worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
Other survivors include: two sons, William "Bill" Hendricks, Sandy Hook, and Robert "Bob" Hendricks, Tuscumbia; five daughters, Peggy Johnston, Kansas City, Brenda Borton, Eldon, Patricia Newton, Eustis, Fla., Barbara Hendricks, Barnett, and Caroline Schlup, Blue Springs; one sister, Irene Holden, Jefferson City; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Edward Farris Hendricks, and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. David Griffith will officiate. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
MITCHELL
Mary L. Mitchell, 74, Versailles, died Oct. 22, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born June 20, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of James E. and Sylvia K. Blankenship Mitchell.
Survivors include one brother, Walter Mitchell, Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Versailles Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
WILSON
Earl T. Wilson, 77, Brumley, died Oct. 23, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Beulah, a son of James R. and Mary Mae Hill Wilson.
He was a welder and worked for Allis-Chalmers before retiring in 1987.
Survivors include: three sons, Randy E. Wilson and James David Wilson, both of Independence, and Earl Thomas Wilson Jr., Eldon; two daughters, Lana Richardson and Leslie Dawn Cochran, both of Brumley; one brother, James Bob Wilson, Versailles; three sisters, Clara Foxworthy, Nadine Jeffries and Mary Margaret Bellamy, all of Versailles; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Ray Wilson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
BOWER
Frances Anita Good Bower, 82, Chesterfield, formerly of Jefferson City, died Oct. 24, 1999, at Friendship Village Nursing Center, Chesterfield.
She was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Henry L. and Mary S. Good. She was married to William W. Bower, who died in November 1944.
A longtime resident of Hammond, Ind., she worked for 34 years in the auditor of freight accounts department of the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad. In 1981, she retired and moved to Chesterfield.
Survivors include one son, William W. Bower, Wildwood, and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Centertown.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin.
BRANDT
Margaret Catherine Brandt, 90, Westphalia, died Oct. 24, 1999, at Westphalia Retirement Center.
She was born Dec. 12, 1908, in Westphalia, a daughter of Martin S. and Anna Heislen Plassmeyer. She was married Dec. 27, 1941, in Westphalia, to Edward Casper Brandt, who died June 5, 1974.
She was a homemaker. Until she moved to Westphalia in 1996, she was a housekeeper for priests in St. Ann Parish, St. Louis.
Survivors include: one daughter, Margaret A. Kuhn, Charleston, S.C.; one son, Edward M. Brandt, Bozeman, Mont.; one sister, Agnes Bajema, Washougal, Wash.; one brother, Paul Plassmeyer, Westphalia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, Westphalia.
LEHMUTH
Edward C. "Bud" Lehmuth, 76, Camdenton, died Oct. 23, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in St. Louis, a son of Edward Sr. and Charlotte Steinherd Lehmuth. He was married Oct. 1, 1945, in Paris, France, to Georgette Marchand, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, George Edward Lehmuth, St. Louis, John Michael Lehmuth, St. Peters, and Marc Andre Lehmuth, Normandy; two daughters, Sister Georgette Lehmuth, OSF, St. Louis, and Joan Christine Lehmuth, Camdenton; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Fuemmeler will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
MENGES
Julia Ellen Menges, 79, Jefferson City, died Oct. 24, 1999, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1920, in Hartford, Kan., a daughter of Benjamin and Alice Sutton Hughes. She was married Nov. 22, 1939, in Wichita, Kan., to Louis Menges, who survives at the home.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality, where she served as president. She was chairman of the parish funeral luncheon committee.
She was a charter member of the Immaculata Club. She was a member of St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary and served as secretary and treasurer of NARVE.
Other survivors include: four sons, Jack Menges, Sedalia, and Kenny Menges, Denny Menges and Jim Menges, all of Jefferson City; three daughters, Mary Alice Thater and Kathleen Schonhardt, both of Jefferson City, and Jody Mumm, Springfield; one brother, Francis Hughes, Osawatomie, Kan.; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
One great-grandchild preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Church.
NEWMAN
Bert Newman, 91, Gravois Mills, died Oct. 26, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He was born Aug. 21, 1908, near Albany, a son of Homer and Myrtle Jackson Newman. He was married to Ida B. Evans, who died Aug. 24, 1987.
A former resident of St. Joseph, he owned and operated Newman's Eat Shop, St. Joseph, for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Laurie.
Survivors include: two sons, Jackie Newman, St. Joseph, and Larry Newman, Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy Ashby, Kansas City, and Pattie Lemar, Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Ray Newman, Fayette, and Fred Newman, Albany; one sister, Helen Cobb, Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery, Laurie.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Care Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.
EICHHOLZ
Joseph A. Eichholz, 80, Jefferson City, died Oct. 26, 1999, at his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Westphalia, a son of William and Mary Leigers Eichholz. He was married Aug. 9, 1952, in Jefferson City, to Henrietta M. Kloeppel, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended school in Westphalia. He farmed in Westphalia until 1969. Later, he worked at Chesebrough-Ponds, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include: three sons, Andrew C. Rothove, Mexico, Ken Rothove, Kansas City, and Glenn J. Eichholz, Jefferson City; three daughters, Betty J. Zimmer, Westphalia, Carletta Wilbers, Wardsville, and Beverly A. Shelton, Jefferson City; two sisters, Adelaide Scheppers, Folk, and Bridget Haslag, Loose Creek; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Tim Tatro will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
