ARMSTRONG
Donald Armstrong, 80, Macks Creek, died Feb. 27, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Dec. 16, 1919, in New York City, a son of Archer Armstrong and Lillian Goldbacher Armstrong.
He was married Oct. 31, 1954, in Greensboro, N.C., to Marie L. Lowrey, who survives at the home.
He was a retired test pilot and businessman, who moved to the Lake area four years ago.
He was a member of the Lake Presbyterian Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Terry A. Staley, New Port Richey, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
GLAVIN
Margaret M. Glavin, 78, Jefferson City, died Feb. 27, 2000, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Frankenstein, a daughter of Joseph and Ida Haslag Dudenhoeffer. She was married Jan. 15, 1946, in Frankenstein, to George H. Glavin, who survives at the Westphalia Retirement Center.
She attended Our Lady of Help School, Frankenstein. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Chamois, and had been active in the ladies quilting group.
Other survivors include: three sons, John Glavin and Tom Glavin, both of Chamois, and Jim Glavin, Dallas; seven daughters, Mary Ihnfeldt, Parker, Colo., Rose Salarano, Holts Summit, Alice Sampe, Waynesville, Ruth Peterson, Ashland, Theresa Bisges and Rita Glavin, both of Jefferson City, and Patty Villapiano, Springfield; three sisters, Anna Marie Dudenhoeffer, Frankenstein, Veronica Green, Collinsville, Ill., and Theresia Murphy, St. Ann; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation, or for masses.
JOHNSON
Jesse W. Johnson, 75, Eldon, died Feb. 26, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Eckman, N.D., a son of Ira R. and Anna Jordre Johnson. He was married Aug. 5, 1961, in Las Vegas, to D. Kathryn Bruns, who survives at the home.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a tool and die maker with Jefferson City Manufacturing for more than 40 years.
Other survivors include; two sons, Jay W. Johnson and Scott I. Johnson, both of Eldon; one daughter, Rita Diehl, Catawissa; two brothers, James Johnson, Maxbass, N.D., and Arlan Johnson, Minot, N.D.; one sister, Marian Crawford, Minot; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter D. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
KIRK
Jon Wesley Kirk, 76, Jefferson City, Feb. 26, 2000, at DePaul Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born July 27, 1923, in St. Louis, a son of Walter and Grace Ball Kirk. He was married Aug. 1, 1949, in St. Louis, to Nancy Smith, who survives at the home.
A graduate of University City High School, University City, he graduated from Central Methodist College in 1949. He received a master's degree in divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist College, Dallas.
He worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for 30 years until his retirement as the functional unit manager. He was a United Methodist minister for 25 years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended First Christian Church. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the China-Burma-India Veterans Group, the Lions Club and St. Andrews Society.
He was a Mason.
Other survivors include: eight sons, Dr. Michael Kirk, Bakersfield, Calif., Samuel Kirk, Los Angeles, the Rev. Scott Bailey-Kirk, Wentzville, Jon Kirk II, Riverside, Calif., David Kirk, Santa Monica, Calif., Barry Kirk, St. Louis, Brian Kirk, Columbia and Todd Kirk, Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Virginia Rice, Centertown; one brother, Robert Kirk, Napa Valley, Calif.; one sister, Bette Dukes, St. Louis; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Nancy Susan Kirk, died in 1958.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Dorothy Lairmore will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

PENBERTHY
Leo "Bud" R. Penberthy, Centralia, died Feb. 26, 2000, at the Truman Memorial Veteran's Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Elvins, a son of Charles W. and Christine E. Huggins Penberthy. He was married Dec. 25, 1945, in Farmington, to Bettye Greeson, who survives at the home.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer.
Other survivors include: one son, Charles Michael Penberthy, state of Missouri; five daughters, Robin Webster, Jefferson City, and Christy Hargis, Donna Taylor, Joyce Edwards and Carol Dennis, all of the state of Missouri; two brothers, Paul Penberthy, St. Genevieve, and Larry Penberthy, Paris; two sisters, Helen McCabe, Long Beach, Calif., and Dorothy Snodgrass, Ashland; and 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. The Rev. Jed Angell will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Memorial Park Cemetery.
REICHART
Hedwig Christine Reichart, 83, Westphalia, died Feb. 26, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 14, 1916, in Westphalia, a daughter of John and Therese Sandbothe Lueckenhoff. She was married Nov. 17, 1938, in St. Louis, to Joseph Reichart, who died April 19, 1995.
She attended St. Joseph School, Westphalia. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and St. Ann's Sewing Circle, and a charter member of the Westphalia Historical Society and the Westphalia Heritage Society.
Survivors include: four daughters, Connie Reichart, Barbara Reichart, Rose Huber and Sue Reichart, all of Westphalia; three sons, Joseph Reichart Jr., Linn, and Jim Reichart and Frank Reichart, both of Westphalia; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Karen Reichart, died in June 1960.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. Msgr. Charles Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to masses or Peru missions.
SCHAFFER
Alfred H. Schaffer, 73, Holts Summit, died Feb. 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1926, in St. Anthony, a son of Conrad H. and Hilda Lueckenotte Schaffer. He was married May 18, 1948, in St. Elizabeth, to Henrietta M. Holtmeyer, who survives at the home.
A life-long resident of Central Missouri, he attended school in St. Anthony.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was employed as a heavy-equipment operator with Mid-State Waste for more than 50 years.
Other survivors include: five sons, Conrad Schaffer, Columbia, Eugene Schaffer and Alfred Schaffer Jr., both of Fulton, and Charles Schaffer and Alvin Schaffer, both of Jefferson City; six daughters, Mildred Buehrlen, Belle, Bernadine Ousley, Russellville, Louella Stuart, Fulton, Johnetta Smith, Clarksburg, Melissa Brinker, Washington , Mo., and Kimberly Rosenberg, Jefferson City; two sisters, Elizabeth Scheulen and Rosa May Howard, both of Meta; 33 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A son, Marcus Schaffer, died April 15, 1951.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Freeman Chapel, with the Rev. Guy Thomas officiating. Graveside services and burial with military honors will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Alfred Schaffer Memorial Fund.
WHITE
Roma A. White , 78, Jefferson City, died Feb. 27, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Hartsburg, a daughter of Benjamin J. and Louise Begemann Hilgedick. She was married Oct. 16, 1945, in Columbia, to Lewis Elmo White , who died July 2, 1999.
A life-long resident of Central Missouri, she attended school in Hartsburg and Jefferson City.
She was a homemaker and had been employed with the Missouri Department of Health for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 424 in Hartsburg.
Survivors include: one son, Keith White , Holts Summit; two daughters, Cathy Wyss, Russellville, and Corrine Brown, Jefferson City; one sister, Lena Webber, Mexico, Mo.; three brothers, Fred Hilgedick and Leslie Hilgedick, both of Hartsburg, and Chester Hilgedick, Bonne Terre; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Freeman Chapel, with the Rev. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg.
