STAHLSCHMIDT

Adrian Clemens Stahlschmidt, 73, Steedman, died Nov. 15, 2000, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.

He was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Dardenne, a son of Bernard and Blanch Freymuth Stahlschmidt. He was married Sept. 10, 1947, in St. Charles County, to Dorothy Brock, who survives at the home.

He was a member of St. Judes Catholic Church, Mokane. He served in the Air Force in the Air Police. He was a deputy sheriff in St. Charles County.

Other survivors include: one son, David Stahlschmidt, Holliday; one daughter, Lynn Jones, Turpin, Okla.; one brother, Walter Stahlschmidt, Farmington; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Judes Catholic Church. Fr. Tom Seifner will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Prinster Paul Funeral Home, St. Charles, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.

VAUGHN

James Vaughn, 85,  Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, died Nov. 16, 2000, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

He was born Sept. 27, 1915, a son of James and Jessie Lathan Vaughn. He was married in 1983 in Vienna to Genevieve Bade Thompson, who survives in Dixon.

He was employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation from 1949 until his retirement in 1979.

Other survivors include: one son, Glenn Vaughn, Dearborn Heights, Mich.; two daughters, Mary Dry, Little Rock, Ark., and Margaret Scherr, Holts Summit; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One son, James H. Vaughn, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Roger Crossgrove will officiate. Burial will be in Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon.

Visitation will be form 6-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

BELT

Judge Ronald M. Belt, 69, Macon, died Nov. 16, 2000, at M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas .

He was born March 13, 1931, in Sue City, a son of Madison E. and Hazel G. Wilson Belt. He was married Aug. 21, 1955, to Phyllis Jean Bragg, who survives at the home.

He received A.B. and J.D. degrees from Washington University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, earning the Bronze Star. He was a member and elder at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Macon.

He practiced law and served eight terms in the Missouri House of Representatives, resigning in 1973 to become circuit judge of the 41st Judicial Circuit. He was a member of the Presiding Judges Association; past president of the Missouri Council of Juvenile Court Judges; Macon County Rotary Club; American Legion; V.F.W.; Masonic Orders; and Shrine Club.

Other survivors include: one son, Drew Belt, Atlanta, Mo.; four daughters, Ellen Winkler, Liberty, Susan McCarty and Julia Barry, both of Clarence, and Sara Howes, Columbia; one brother, Wilson Belt, LaPlata; one sister, Azalea Walker, Anabel; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Phil Nevius will officiate. Burial will be in LaPlata Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home, Macon.

BROWNING

Paul T. Browning Jr., 84, Oliver Springs, Tenn., died Nov. 17, 2000, at Roane Medical Center, Harriman, Tenn.

He was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth B. Phipps, Oliver Springs; one son, Paul T. Browning III, Trafalgar, Ind.; and one brother, Bill Browning,  Jefferson City.

Private services will be under the direction of Oliver Springs Mortuary.

SULLENS

Lois Marie Sullens, 91, Eldon, died Nov. 17, 2000, in Eldon.

She was born June 20, 1909, in Mary's Home, a daughter of John and Ruby Norwood Holzhauser. She was married Oct. 21, 1934, in Eldon, to Raymond M. Sullens, who died Jan. 16, 1998.

She taught school in Osage Bluff and wrote items for the Locust Mound and Eugene newspapers for more than 30 years. She was a former member of the Eugene Country Club Ladies Association and a member of Eugene Christian Church for more than 70 years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Ruby Balsley, Columbia, and Lois Jean George, Rantoul, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

One son, Kenneth Sullens, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. David Gene George and Richard Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to Eugene Christian Church.

DAVISON

Yvonne Davison, 67, Lake Ozark, died Nov. 16, 2000, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.

She was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Livingston, Ill., a daughter of Edward and Hattie Ostrowsky Hainaut.

She was married Oct. 17, 1953, in Edwardsville, Ill., to Joe Davison, who survives at the home.

Together, they owned and operated the Alhonna Resort in Lake Ozark for 10 years. She was a member of the Classic Club.

Survivors include: her mother, Hattie Hainaut of Livingston Ill.; two daughters, JoAnne Gardner of Rocky Mount and Jolene Kreutzer of Eldon; two brothers, Jerome Hainaut of New Douglas, Ill., and Edward Hainaut Jr. of New Douglas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lake Chapel of the Hedges Funeral Home in Osage Beach. Dwight Brackman will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

BENNETT

Services were today for Anna Ruth Bennett, 88, Warrenton, who died Nov. 17, 2000, at Warrenton Nursing and Rehab.

She was born Aug. 6, 1912, in Boone County, a daughter of George W. and Mary Eliza Forbis Todd. She was married Dec. 8, 1946, in Ashland, to Virgil M. Bennett Sr., who died Dec. 21, 1995.

She was a homemaker and a member of Woodcrest Primitive Baptist Church, Ashland.

Survivors include: one son, James Bennett, Maryland Heights; three stepsons, Curtis Bennett, Warrenton, John Bennett, Bluff Dale, Texas , and Bobby Bennett, Wright City; one stepdaughter, Doris Baum, Maryland Heights; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

One stepson, Virgil Bennett, preceded her in death.

Services were at Woodcrest Primitive Baptist Church. Wallace Johnson officiated. Burial was in Woodcrest Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Ashland.

Memorials are suggested to Woodcrest Primitive Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nieburg-Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.

BRANSON

Heather Dawn Branson, 22, Linn, died Nov. 19, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 50 East in  Jefferson City.

She was born May 14, 1978, in Kansas City, a daughter of David L. and Peggy Niederhelm Branson. Her parents survive in Linn.

She attended school in Branson, moving to Linn in 1997. She was employed at Casey's and McDonald's, both in Linn, and Scholastics Inc. Currently she was employed by Hometown Lumber, Linn.

She was a member of  Oklahoma Church of Christ, Osage County, and the Mount Branson Christian Church Youth Group, Branson.

Other survivors include: one son, Mackenzie Branson, of the home; one daughter, Sierra Branson, of the home; one brother, Matt Branson, Eldon; one sister, Amber Branson, Linn; paternal grandmother, Lois Branson, Linn; and maternal grandmother, Alvina Niederhelm, Gasconade.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at  Oklahoma Church of Christ. The Rev. Mark Gregor and the Rev. Don King will officiate. Burial will be in  Oklahoma Church Cemetery, Osage County.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.

Memorials are suggested to Heather Branson's Children Memorial Fund, in care of  Oklahoma Church of Christ, Star Route Box 66, Chamois, Mo. 65024.

HERFURTH

Charles C. Herfurth, 91, California, died Nov. 19, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

He was born June 30, 1909, in Moniteau County, a son of Frank and Nancy Howard Herfurth. He was married Nov. 19, 1936, in California, to Geneva Baker, who survives at the home.

He attended California schools and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement as director of fire and safety.

He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, California, Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 4345, California. He was California fire chief for 23 years.

Other survivors include one daughter, Judith Boyle, California, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Church. Msgr. Francis Gillgannon will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Annunciation Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California, with a VFW service at 7:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Annunciation Catholic Church Building Fund or Moniteau Nutrition Center, California.
