BERG

Reva Berg, 75, Dixon, died Jan. 13, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1925, a daughter of William and Ola Black Carlton. She was married in Beatrice, Neb., to Roderick Hansen, who preceded her in death. She was married to Gordan Berg, who preceded her in death.

She worked in restaurants.

Survivors include: two sons, Wayne Hansen, Lincoln, Neb., and Michael Berg, Minneapolis; three daughters, Frances Shaffer, Camden, Tenn., Kathryn Winkle, Dallas, and Rebecca Wahl, state of Nebraska; four sisters, Rita Gouker, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Wanda Hunt, Coldwell, Idaho, Esther Marsh, Delta, Colo., and Jo Ann Stockamp, Dixon; and 14 grandchildren.

One daughter, Linda Talbot, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Carrell Day and the Rev. Noble Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and noon-1 p.m. Tuesday.

BROWNING

William Perry Browning, 80,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 14, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 30, 1920, in Ottumwa, Iowa, a son of Paul T. and Edith Klienhen Browning. He was married Aug. 3, 1957, in New Rochelle, N.Y., to Lazell "Pat" Patterson, who survives at the home.

A graduate of Young-Harris in Gainesville, Ga., he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was employed by Brown & Root Construction Company in Guam for two years.

He was in procurement and logistics with International Telephone and Telegraph Company in Canada, Italy and parts of the United States for 12 years. He worked for the Missouri Builders Association, where he was manager of the Trade School, Kansas City, and Out of State Services and Trade School,  Jefferson City, for 17 years. He retired in 1984.

He was a Presbyterian and volunteered at Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Thornton Cemetery, Thornton, Texas .

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

DOYLE

Roger M. Doyle Sr., 84,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born Feb. 25, 1917, in St. Louis, a son of Francis A. and Annie Elizabeth Slattery Doyle. He was married Dec. 8, 1945, in Vienna, Austria, to Mary Theresa Byrne, who died Aug. 13, 1984.

He attended St. Louis Preparatory Seminary and St. Louis University, where he received a B.S.C. in commerce and finance.

A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, he was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was owner-operator of Ek-Art Religious Designs and Furnishings, St. Louis. He was executive director of the Missouri Real Estate Commission from 1977 until his retirement in 1982.

Survivors include: three sons, Roger M. Doyle Jr., St. Peters, and John P. Doyle and Francis W. Doyle, both of Centertown; two daughters, Maureen Ann Doyle, Columbia, and Maryann Hackmeister, St. Charles; one brother, Dr. Joseph A. Doyle, Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Greg Higley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martins Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis House, Columbia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

HAYES

Ruth L. Hayes, 79,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 14, 2001, at  Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center.

She was born May 11, 1921, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Otis R. and Minnie Willmeno DeWitt. She was married Nov. 30, 1945, in  Jefferson City, to James R. "Bob" Hayes, who died Oct. 6, 1981.

A life-long resident of the Central Missouri area, she attended St. Peters School.

A homemaker, she was employed with the Hammond Studio for 19 years and with C. Gordon Price's ladies clothing store. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Taos.

Survivors include: one son, James K. Hayes, Taos; one daughter, Anna Marie Schrimpf,  Jefferson City; one sister, Ada Amos,  Jefferson City; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rev. David Maher will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

KIRK

Cecil D. Kirk, 74, Osage Beach, died Jan. 12, 2001, at Osage Beach Health Care Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Milam County, Texas , a son of Wiley and Thelma McGregor Kirk. He was married in 1978 to Elizabeth Wright, who died in 2000.

He owned and operated a real estate business and managed motels.

Survivors include: one son, Douglas Kirk, Waynesboro, Tenn.; one brother, Douglas Windell Kirk, Lake Jackson, Texas ; three sisters, Patricia Kimmel and Francis Busch, both of Houston, Texas , and Attie Mae Loewe, Calvert, Texas ; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be at a later date. The remains were cremated. Inurnment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

SCHRIMPF

Sharon Schrimpf, 59,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 14, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.

She was born Dec. 1, 1941, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Leo E. and Mildred Briscoe Larkin. Her mother survives in  Jefferson City. She was married March 2, 1973, in Joplin, to Robert Schrimpf, who survives at the home.

A 1959 graduate of  Jefferson City High School, she received her radiologic technology degree from Charles E. Still Hospital.

She was a computed tomography technologist and diagnostic imaging coordinator for the Mid-Missouri Medical Foundation for 17 years. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Mid-Missouri Camera Club.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Kelly Ferjulian, state of California, and Dana L. Payne, New Bloomfield; two sons, Kevin A. Schrimpf and Keith A. Schrimpf, both of New Bloomfield; one sister, Marcia Reed,  Jefferson City, and three grandchildren.

One daughter, Denise L. Cox, died Aug. 14, 1993.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Roger Obermeir will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Justin L. Hawkins, Blair L. Payne and Mia G. Ferjulian Educational Fund and the American Cancer Society.

EDDY

Rosalin Eddy, 50, Gravois Mills, died Jan. 13, 2001, at her home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Kansas City, a daughter of Roswell F. and Wilma Ruth Lamb Combs. She was married Feb. 14, 1970, to John R. Eddy, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include one son, James Eddy, Gravois Mills.

One son, John R. Eddy Jr., preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. The Rev. Sid Robbins will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Lee's Summit Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.

GAERTNER

Louise Ida Gaertner, 90, Leawood, Kan., formerly of  Jefferson City, died Jan. 13, 2001, at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, Kan.

She was born Feb. 21, 1910, in St. Louis, a daughter of Hugo and Adlade Long Witthaus. She was married Feb. 11, 1933, in  Jefferson City, to Wilbert Ernst Gaertner, who died Oct. 29, 1999.

She attended school in Hermann. She was a homemaker and worked at International Shoe Co. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ.

Survivors include: one daughter, Gloria Jean Smith, Leawood; one brother, Charles Witthaus, Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Sally Whitte, Boulder, Colo., and Lillian Bockting and Ruby Walther, both of Hermann; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation.

WOODS

William Edward Woods, 94,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 13, 2001, at Capital Healthcare Center.

He was born April 11, 1907, in Callaway County, a son of Willis E. and Sarah Spillers Woods.

He attended Freedom School, Callaway County. He was employed by Oberman Manufacturing Co. and worked at several  Jefferson City restaurants.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Willis H. Woods,  Jefferson City.

Private family services are planned. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.
