MARTIN

Dorothy Marjorie Martin, 91, Camdenton, died July 11, 2002, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Sept. 16, 1910, in New Cambria, a daughter of Leigh and Mary Jane Evans Nortoni. She was married in 1940 to James D. Cole, who died May 10, 1953. She was married July 21, 1973, to John M. Martin, who died June 17, 1993.

She worked as an office manager for Regal Plastics for 20 years until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Camdenton.

Survivors include: five daughters, Marilyn Martin, Peggy Daniels, Nancy Greimann and Kaye Baker, all of Camdenton, and Carolyn Dewey, Stilwell, Kan.; five sons, John Matthew Martin Jr. and Gregory S. Martin, both of Kansas City, Michael D. Martin and Scott Martin, both of Camdenton, and Mark Allen Martin, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Martha J. Adrian, and one grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Camdenton. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Laughlin Cemetery, west of Camdenton.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

PARKER

Willard E. "Bill" Parker, 93, Lake Ozark, died July 12, 2002, at Lake Ozark Retirement Center.

He was born Sept. 3, 1908, in Buffalo, Minn., a son of Harry and Hattie Thompson Parker. He was married July 3, 1936, in Minneapolis, to Ellen Grace Pollard, who died Nov. 27, 1992.

He worked as a plumber for 45 years at the University of Minnesota until his retirement. He was a member of Compass Masonic Lodge, Robbinsdale, Minn., and the Plumbers Local 15, Minneapolis.

Other survivors include: one son, Everett Parker, Lake Ozark; one daughter, Gayle Rainerson, Robbinsdale; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Evans-Norby Funeral Home, Osseo, Minn. The Rev. L. Jerome Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal, Minn.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.

ROBERDS

Cletus Earl Roberds, 77, Meta, died July 12, 2002, at his home.

He was born May 16, 1925, a son of Clyde and Lettie Burnham Roberds. He was married Nov. 21, 1946, in Dixon, to Erma Lee Barnhart, who survives at home.

He was employed as a plumber in the St. Louis area for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He and his wife traveled back and forth from St. Louis to a farm in Meta before moving to the farm. He was a member of Ricker Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Van Cleve.

Other survivors include: three sons, Larry Roberds and Ronald Roberds, both of House Springs, and Randy Roberds, Eureka; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta, with the Rev. Bob Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Stokes Cemetery or Ricker Memorial Church of the Nazarene.

GRILLS

Charles Richard "Dick" Grills, 89, Woodland Hills, Calif., died July 12, 2002, at Motion Picture and Television Fund Hospital, Woodland Hills.

He was born March 18, 1913, in DuQuoin, Ill., a son of Charles L. and Emma Christina Yehling Grills. He was married June 11, 1949, in Los Angeles, to Lucille Marie Morris, who died Dec. 8, 1979.

He attended schools in DuQuoin and graduated from Monmouth College, Monmouth, Ill. He worked for the Walt Disney Company, Burbank, Calif., in the Cartoon Camera Department. He retired in 1979 as head of the Camera Department after 42 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one brother, Raymond Grills, Sarasota, Fla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Harry Morris, Raymond Grills and the Rev. Bob Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

BORUM

Norma Jane Borum, 68, Tipton, died July 12, 2002.

She was born June 21, 1934, in Fulton, a daughter of Charlie and Bessie Pauline Gochenour Myers. She was married May 24, 1954, in Lee's Summit, to Donald G. Borum, who survives at the home.

She was a member of the first Baptist Church in Lee's Summit, where she lived for 30 years. She worked as a writer at Unity School of Christianity in Lee's Summit for 26 years. After moving to Tipton in 1993, she worked as a substitute teacher in Clarksburg, Bunceton and at St. Andrew's School. She was a graduate of Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar and also attended  Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla.

Other survivors include: two sons, Charlie Borum, Versailles, and Donald Borum Jr., Lee's Summit; one daughter, Paula Borum, Tipton; and two grandsons.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home in Tipton. The Rev. Harold Nicks will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

STEYER

Charles "Chuck" Raymond Steyer Jr., 46, Greenview, died July 12, 2002, at Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach.

He was born April 16, 1956, in St. Louis, a son of Charles Raymond, Sr. and Delores J. McCullough Steyer. His mothers survives in St. Louis. He was married Aug. 7, 1992, to Kim Danford, who survives at the home.

He was raised in the St. Louis area and graduated from Linbergh High School. For 12 years, he was employed by the St. Louis Parks Department. After he and Kim were married, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where he was employed by the Sunrise Beach Postal Service.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Erica Danford, of the home; one son, Tyler Ross, of the home; one sister, Deborah McShane of Corpus Christi; and his grandfather, Lowell McCullough, St. Louis.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakewood Park Cemetery in Affton. A memorial service will be July 27 at Stoney Brook River House; friends should contact his wife regarding arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society; contributions may be left at the Allee Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.

KANE

Mary A. "Bertie" Kane, 84,  Jefferson City, died July 13, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born March 5, 1918, in Hays, Kan., a daughter of James O. and Olive Maude French Boyd. She was married in November 1935, in Dodge City, Kan., to Charles Kane, who died in October 1990.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a 1935 graduate of Dodge City High School in Dodge City.

Survivors include: one daughter, Beckie Huckriede,  Jefferson City; two sons, Roy Kane, Indianapolis, and Pat Kane, Rio Bueno, Jamaica; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

LOESCH

Evelyn Erna Ella Loesch, 87, Russellville, died July 12, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born March 2, 1915, in Honey Creek, a daughter of Richard J.R. and Juliana O. Meier Fischer. She was married March 2, 1940, in Stringtown, to Clarence J. Loesch, who died April 1, 1997.

She attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Honey Creek, and Pleasant Valley School. A homemaker, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Stringtown, where she was secretary of the Ladies Aid for 17 years and served as vice president and treasurer. She was a member of the church quilting circle.

She was a member of 4-H Club in Honey Creek and helped found the Stringtown-Corinth 4-H Club, where she was club leader for 35 years and project leader for 46 years. She served on the Cole County 4-H Council and was active in the Cole County Fair Board, where she was home environment superintendent. She was election judge for the Moreau Township and worked part time for the education section of the Conservation Commission in  Jefferson City.

Survivors include: two sons, Melvin Loesch, Russellville, and Glenn Loesch,  Jefferson City; two daughters, Ruth Ann Klatt, Russellville, and Carol Sue Fischer, Vandalia; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Stringtown. The Rev. Warren Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Stringtown.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, St. John's Ladies Aid or a charity of the donor's choice.

SPRAGUE

Gertrude Stevenson Sprague, 88,  Jefferson City, died July 14, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1914, in Carthage, a daughter of James and Eliza Miller Pierce. She was married in 1930, to John Stevenson, who died in 1958. She was married Oct. 25, 1968, to Stanley Sprague, who died June 16, 1995.

She was a homemaker. She received her licensed practical nursing degree from the State of Illinois in 1966. She was a resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1969. She worked as an LPN until 1980, when she retired from Still Regional Medical Center. She was active in the community as a musician, 4-H leader and past president of the Schuyler County Ladies Farm Bureau in Rushville, Ill. She was a member of St. Peters Church in  Jefferson City.

Survivors include: one son, John Stevenson, Stover; two daughters, Joyce Corman and Janet Shirts, both of  Jefferson City; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peters Church.
