HOLMES
Helen Craig Davis Holmes, 86, Columbia, formerly of Fulton, died July 22, 1999, at Williamsburg Nursing Home, Columbia.
She was born
March 17, 1913, in Fulton, a daughter of George R. and Rosalie McCellen McIntire. She was married
to Harry Davis, who died in 1960. She was married
to Manuel Holmes, who died in 1993.
She was a homemaker and worked as a receptionist at Westminster Book Store.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 21 years at various churches.
Survivors include: three sons, Craig Davis, Jefferson City, Roy Davis, Fenton, and Jard Davis, Westminster, Colo.; two stepsons, Clifford Holmes, Columbia, and Dennis Holmes, Lexington, Ky.; two stepdaughters, JoAnn McCray and Dolores McCray, both of Columbia; one brother, Vernon McIntire, Kirkwood; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Stephen Sowder will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday.
HUMPHREY
Truman Ellis Humphrey, 76, Iberia, died July 21, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born
Sept. 1, 1922, in Iberia, a son of Marion and Mary "Deed" Morrow Humphrey. He was married
June 23, 1947, in Tuscumbia, to Veta Lee Shelton, who survives at the home.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for more than 30 years at Fort Leonard Wood.
He owned and operated Humphrey's Pest Control and Humphrey's excavating. He also raised cattle.
He was a member and deacon of Iberia First Christian Church. He was a member of Iberia Masonic Lodge 410 AF and AM and Iberia American Legion Post 105.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Sharron Harris, Belle, and Karon Schmitt, Iberia; one sister, Emma Farnham, Iberia; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Iberia First Christian Church. The Rev. Stan Way will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
JONES
Henry Logan Jones, 72, Russell-ville, died July 22, 1999, at Oak View Living Center.
He was born
Jan. 27, 1927, near Russellville, a son of Alva and Edith Gouge Jones. He was married
May 17, 1980, in Sedalia, to Helen Roberta Massey, who died Feb. 2, 1995.
A self-employed mechanic, he mowed lawns and was caretaker of Centertown Cemetery for many years. He moved from Centertown to the Enon community in 1990.
He is survived by one sister, Ruby Velma Schatzer, California.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Randy Trumbo will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, near Russellville.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the Dialysis Clinic Inc., Jefferson City.
BRAMMER
Donald F. Brammer, 72, Roach, died July 22, 1999, at his home.
He was born
July 16, 1927, in Macon, a son of William B. and Josephine De Groot Brammer. He was married
May 25, 1963, in Warsaw, to Ann Kosmiski, who survives at the home.
He had resided in the Lake area for the past six years. A Lutheran, he was a member of VFW and Teamsters Union, he was an over-the-road truck driver for a freight transport system company.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Brammer; one daughter, Cindy Trusty; five brothers, Gene Brammer, Carthage, Bill Brammer, Arizona, Joe Brammer, Independence, Francis Brammer, Blue Springs, and Richard Brammer, North Kansas City; one sister, Iris Arnold, Macon; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery.

HERZING
Bernard F. "Ben"' Herzing, 72, Eldon, died July 21, 1999, as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Eldon.
He was born
Aug. 7, 1926, a son of Conrad and Mary Baumhoer Herzing.
An Army veteran, he retired from Gastineau Lumber Co. in New Bloomfield. He was a lifetime member of Miller County VFW Post 2442 and a member of Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City.
Survivors include: two daughters, Glenda Golden, Osage Beach, and Lori Birdsong Mealy, Columbia; one son, Richard Herzing, Columbia; two stepsons, Noel Robert Herzing, Columbia, and Wilfred "Jake" Livingston, Russellville; three sisters, Delphine Jagers, Ste. Genevieve, and Rita Nilges and Arlene Wallace Pratt, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Clarence Herzing, Centertown; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City.

KUHLMAN
Betty Jane Kuhlman, 72, Stover, died July 24, 1999, at her home.
She was born
Oct. 3, 1926, in Kansas City, a daughter of Ralph E. and Neva A. Waldren Shipley. She was married
Oct. 24, 1964, in Nowata, Okla., to Howard E. Kuhlman, who survives at the home.
She worked the control desk and was a keypunch operator at the Vendo Co. in Kansas City. She retired in 1980 and moved to Stover.
Other survivors include: three sons, Michael E. Turner, Bonner Springs, Kan., Kirk D. Kuhlman, Camdenton, and Ralph J. Kuhlman, Shawnee, Kan.; three daughters, Pam L. Rose, Stewartsville, Nancy L. Slankard, Bonner Springs, and Lisa A. Rose, Tulelake, Calif.; one sister, Mary Lou Ward, Independence; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Glen Alan Turner in 1982 and Keith Edward Turner in 1984.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Ard-Menteer Cemetery, south of Stover. James Henderson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
POINTER
Charles Pointer, 86, Vienna, died July 24, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born
Sept. 5, 1912, in Vienna, a son of James and Mary Shanks Pointer. He was married
Oct. 7, 1938, in Maries County, to Lydia May Rowe, who survives at the home.
He was employed for 36 years by the Missouri Department of Transportation, District 5 Highway Department in Vienna. At the time of his retirement in 1973, he was a state highway crew leader. He also was a lifelong farmer in Maries County.
He was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in Vienna.
Other survivors include: two sons, James Pointer, Vienna, and Virgil L. Pointer, Jefferson City; one daughter, Betty L. Pointer, New Bloomfield; two sisters, Mary Anderson, Jefferson City, and Edna Edwards, Vienna; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Little Flock Baptist Church. The Rev. Howard Opperman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
ADLER
Cora A. Adler, 87, Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Eldon, died July 23, 1999, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines.
She was born
Sept. 21, 1911, in Cambridge, Neb., a daughter of William and Anna Schroeder Cotton. She was married
Nov. 25, 1937, in Hastings, Neb., to Wilbert H. Adler, who died April 20, 1991.
A resident of Hastings from 1935 to 1982, she was a nurses' aide at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for more than 25 years. She lived in Eldon from 1982 to 1992, when she moved to Des Moines.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Adler, Eldon, and Raymond Adler, Hannibal; one daughter, Phyllis Schnackel, Des Moines; three sisters, Dora Fallert, Seagerville, Texas, Wilma LaRose, Hollywood, Fla., and Esther Walker, Clinton; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God, Tipton. The Rev. Don Schutte will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.
CONWAY
Katie Jane Conway, 88, Camdenton, died July 24, 1999, at Laurie Care Center, Laurie.
She was born
May 6, 1911, in Venice, Ill., a daughter of B.F. and Martha Pollard. She was married
Oct. 2, 1930, in Collinsville, Ill., to Cecil T. "Jim" Conway Jr., who survives at the home.
She was a member of the Community Christian Church, Camdenton, and retired as a seamstress and foreman for a garment factory. She was a member of the Eastern Star and worked with senior citizens housing for five years.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Vernon Pollard, Peoria, Ill., Gerald Pollard, St. Louis, and Martin Pollard, state of California; and one sister, Iva Thompson, St. Louis.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Community Christian Church. The Rev. Tracy A. Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in the Allee Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
