KOLAR

Adeline Augusta Kolar, 86,  Jefferson City, died March 11, 2003, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.

She was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Freeburg, a daughter of George and Celestine Meyer Castrop. She was married Nov. 23, 1946, in  Jefferson City, to Norman Wayne Kolar, who died April 13, 1982.

She attended Holy Family Catholic School, Freeburg and graduated from Holy Family High School.

She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include: three brothers, Henry Castrop, Linn, Daniel Castrop, El Reno, Nev., and Ferdinand Castrop, Yukon, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Jane Mertz, Lansing, Mich., and Julianna Luetkemeyer, Freeburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church. The Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Buescher Memorial Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Home for the Aged or for Masses.

ROARK

Archie Glen Roark, 78, Tuscumbia, died March 11, 2003, at Miller County Care Center, Tuscumbia.

He was born July 29, 1924, in Iberia, a son of Rosco and Etta Bailey Roark. He was married Sept. 4, 1947, in Iberia, to Delores Patterson, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked for Anchor Mill, Tuscumbia, for 31 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Miller County VFW Post 2442.

Other survivors include: one son, Dorlas Roark, Tuscumbia; two daughters, Pam Foster, Kennesaw, Ga., and Debra Schulte, Eugene; two brothers, James Roark, Mountain Grove, and Bob Roark, Iberia; two sisters, Mae Wall, Brumley, and Grace Flaugher, Tuscumbia; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Gott Cemetery, near Ulman.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Archie Roark Memorial Fund.

SAWYER

Adelaide "Addie" Sawyer, 54, Lake Ozark, died March 11, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

She was born Nov. 30, 1948, in St. Louis, a daughter of Lou Sr. and Grace Theiss.

She worked for the past 18 years with Four Seasons Realty and Reece & Nicholas Realty in Lake Ozark.

Survivors include: two daughters, Lori James, Lake Ozark, and Michelle Dillbeck, Springfield; two brothers, Lou Theiss Jr., Potosi, and Allen Theiss, Washington ; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Inurnment will be in Lake Memorial Garden Cemetery, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from noon-4 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Addie Sawyer to Lake Regional Hospital Cancer Treatment Center, c/o Lake Regional Hospital Foundation, 54 Hospital Drive, Osage Beach, Mo.

SHEELY

Maryester Sheely, 85, Columbia, formerly of Osage Beach, died March 11, 2003, at Ashland Health Care Center.

She was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Dixon, Ill., a daughter of A.C. and Carrie Herren Higby. She was married Sept. 4, 1936, in Rock Falls, Ill., to Alvin Sheely, who preceded her in death.

She was a cook for the Camdenton school and was a member of UMW Garden Club.

Survivors include: one daughter, Becky Sheely, Columbia; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach. The Rev. Bob Hickman will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Garden Cemetery, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 10 -11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Harper Chapel United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

BASILE

Sister Marie of the Blessed Sacrament, O.C.D., 76, Carmelite Monastery,  Jefferson City, died March 12, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Catherine Basile on April 30, 1926, in New York City, a daughter of John and Carmela D'Amico Basile.

She was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, New York City. She worked one year with Harper and Brothers, New York City.

She entered the Carmel of Sante Fe, N.M., in 1950; received the Holy Habit of Carmel in 1951; made her first profession of vows in 1952; and made her solemn profession of vows in 1955.

She was a founding sister of the  Jefferson City Carmelite Monastery in 1960.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Carmelite Monastery. The Most Rev. John R. Gaydos will officiate. Burial will be in Carmelite Monastery Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the monastery, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Masses.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

PROCTOR

Eugene L. Proctor, 74, Camdenton, died March 11, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.

He was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Cabool, a son of James W. and Rachel B. Coons Proctor. He was married Nov. 27, 1994, to Inez L. Truelove North, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Mount Salem Country School. He worked for Hopkins Lumber and M.F.A. Feed Mill, retiring in the 1990s.

He was a former member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a member of Ira Missionary Baptist Church, near Eldridge, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 192, Lebanon. He volunteered with Meals On Wheels in Lebanon and Camdenton.

Other survivors include: one stepson, Herb North, Camdenton; four stepdaughters, Eva Reagan, Olean, Patty Anderson, Lebanon, Vicky Burns, Camdenton, and Kathy Stamper, Linn Creek; four sisters, Dorothy Mathews, Goldie Bennett and Pauline Luthy, all of Lebanon, and Velma Coffman, Richland; nine stepgrandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one stepgrandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Chapel, Camdenton. Phil Burns and Danny Hill will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

ROWDEN

Katie Hazel Rowden, 95, Iberia, died March 13, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1907, in Iberia, a daughter of Henry and Martha F. "Lease" Morrow Humphrey. She was married April 11, 1952, in Harrison, Ark., to Floyd Clifford Rowden, who survives at the home.

She worked as a seamstress in St. Louis and for L.B. Manufacturing, Iberia. She retired from D.O.L. at Ft. Leonard Wood.

She was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church, near Iberia, and the Iberia Order of the Eastern Star.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Earl Skidds will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Brays Advent Christian Church.
