HECKMAN
Josephine Heckman, age 94 of St. Thomas, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at the Westphalia Retirement Center.
She was born in Koeltztown on March 17, 1910, a daughter of John and Christine (Holterman) Utrecht. On September 10, 1935, in Koeltztown, she was married to Herman Henry Heckman, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1985.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Sodality, the Over 50 Club, and the St. Thomas Quilting Club.
Survivors include: three sons, Alex Heckman of St. Thomas, Tony Heckman of Westphalia, and Leander "Cotton" Heckman of Wardsville; two daughters, Hermina Strope of St. Thomas and JoAnn Schwartze of Argyle; one sister, Pauline Rackers of  Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Becky Strope, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Hubert, and Arnold Utrecht; and one sister, Cecilia Griffin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in St. Thomas. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall with a Senior Citizens Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas Parish. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.

HENDERSON
Mrs. Sandra S. Henderson, age 59 years, of Friendship, Tennessee, a former  Jefferson City resident, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at the Dyersburg Medical Center, Dyersburg, Tennessee.
She was born March 13, 1945, at Tacoma, Washington , the daughter of Dwight D. and Margaret Faye Cardwell Turk. Her parents servive in  Jefferson City, Mo. She was married on September 26, 1963 at  Jefferson City, Mo., to Robert E. Henderson, who survives at the home.
A resident of the  Jefferson City area until 2001, Mrs. Henderson was a 1963 graduate of  Jefferson City High School. She was employed as a cashier with Wal-Mart in  Jefferson City, Mo., and Dyersburg, Tennessee for several years. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of  Jefferson City, Mo.
Survivors include two sons: Robert D. Henderson and his wife Brenda of  Jefferson City, Mo., and Thomas E. Henderson of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; one daughter: Teresa Henderson of Marshfield, Mo. ; one granddaughter: Emily Faye Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Shane Crum officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

McNULTY
Violet Pearl McNulty, 80, of Sedalia, died Thursday, April 1, 2004. She was born November 5, 1923, to Cyrus Delmar and Alpha Ann Turpin Ferguson.
On October 20, 1940, she was married to William Birge.
Also surviving are two daughters, Connie E. Welpman & Etta Hartley, of Sedalia; two sons, Keith Birge, of  Jefferson City, & Terry Birge, of Lee's Summit; two step daughters, Donna Dolan, of Washington , and Ella "Dollie" Hayes, of Warrensburg; a step son, Jim McNulty, of Springfield, Ill.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Providence Baptist Church, with the Rev. Farrie Cole, Jr. officiating. Burial in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

MILLARD
Dorothy Elizabeth Millard, 94, of  Jefferson City, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Beverly Health and Rehab.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel. Additional obituary information will be provided in the Sunday Edition of the News Tribune. Arrangements are under the direction of the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -  Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.

NICHOLS
Dorothy Jean Nichols, age 69, of Ashland, Mo., died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at the University Hospital & Clinics.
Mrs. Nichols was born March 19, 1935, in Boone County, the daughter of Ralph Mountjoy and Stella Mae Henshaw Mountjoy. She married Wiley Nichols, October 29, 1955, and he preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eagles in  Jefferson City.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws: Bruce and Billie Nichols of Ashland and Dennis and Mary Nichols of Sturgeon; two brothers: Kenneth Mountjoy and Joe Mountjoy of Columbia; four sisters: Jane Richardson, Martha Nan Sapp and Norma Downey of Ashland, La Verne McKim of  Jefferson City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland, Sunday, April 4, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation on Saturday April 3, 2004, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 1316 Parkade Blvd., P. O. Box 1013, Columbia, MO 65205.

WATSON
Eugene P. Watson, 85, California, MO and formerly of High Point, MO passed away Friday, April 02, 2004 at this home in California, MO.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 4, 2004, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO and Service will be held at High Point Baptist Church, High Point, MO, Monday, April 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. The complete obituary will follow later. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.

WOOD
Irene I. Wood, age 87 of Eldon, died April 1, 2004, at Eldon Healthcare. On January 26, 1933, in Tuscumbia, she was married to Raymond S. Wood, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1991.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles R. Wood of Kimball, Nebraska, and Fred Wood of Eldon; two sisters, Lola Howser of Barnett and Zane Melton of Osage Beach; two brothers, Victor Geiger of Versailles and George Geiger of Barnett; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.

BROWNING
Mrs. Virginia Lee Ward Browning, age 78 years, a former  Jefferson City resident, passed away peacefully June 4, 2004, at her home in Napa, California, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 17, 1926 in  Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Bowen and Virginia Ward, both deceased. She was married in 1947 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Jim Browning who preceded her in death in March, 2004.
She was a devoted homemaker and had worked for the Social Services Dept. for Somona County, California for 10 years and was a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include: three sons, Jim Browning and his wife Susan of Evergreen, Colorado, Scott Browning of Napa, California and Larry Browning of Napa, California; one daughter, Gail Brown of Santa Rosa, California; one brother, William "Bill" Ward and his wife Evelyn of  Jefferson City, Mo. ; and 10 grandchildren.
A private memorial service was conducted on June 11, 2004.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Local arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

ADAMS
Rusty Wayne Adams, 38, died at his residence in Camdenton, on Thursday, December 9, 2004.
He was the son of Margie Adams, Camdenton and Jerry and Carolyn Adams of Camdenton. He is survived by two brothers, Glenn and Michael Adams; grandfather, Wayne Moreland, all of Camdenton. Grandfather Rusty Adams of Muskogee, Okla. ; and grandmother, Freida Adams, Camdenton.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 13, 1 p.m. in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 12, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Myetta Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made at the funeral home to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

BABB
Joshua Lee Draffen Babb, age 22, of  Jefferson City, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born December 8, 1982 in St. Louis, Mo. to Robert and Marjorie Babb.
Survivors include: his parents; five brothers: Daniel Draffen, Highridge, Mo., Tom Draffen, State of Georgia, Mark Draffen,  Jefferson City, David Draffen,  Jefferson City, Gerard Draffen, State of California; three sisters: Nancy Draffen,  Jefferson City, Sarah Draffen,  Jefferson City, and Carolyn Boyd, Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Draffen.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2004, at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton.

CONNOLLY
Daniel Michael Connolly, 73, died in his home at Macks Creek, Mo., on Wednesday, December 8, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie of the home, four sons; three daughters; 2 step-sons; 2 step-daughters; and 5 sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Mo. with Rev. Terry Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Percival Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be 6-8 Friday evening at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be left at the funeral home to a memorial that has been established.

HIRST
Anna Maria Hirst, 83, Tipton, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Columbia Manor, Columbia, Mo.
She was born Aug. 31, 1921, at Otterville, Mo., the daughter of Lewis Frank and Anna Louise Rogers Watring.
She was married Nov. 16, 1943, at Great Bend, Kan., to Charles Albert Hirst, who preceded her in death April 19, 1955.
Survivors include: one son, Gene Hirst, Laurie, Mo. ; one daughter, Fay Carney and husband, George, Ashland, Mo. ; two brothers, Jerry Watring, Syracuse and Jay Watring, Tipton; three sisters, Maggie Klein, Tipton; Ruby Knipp, Tipton and Lillian Rimel, Tipton.
Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Tipton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ommie Nelms officiating. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the church.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Alzheimers Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton.

THOMAS
Adanan Thomas, 98, of Fulton, died Thursday, December 9, 2004, at the Fulton Manor Care Center.
She was born Sept. 6, 1906, in Callaway County, Mo., the daughter of the late James T. and Vida Inez (Bush) Taylor.
She married Ollie Frank Thomas on March 17, 1928 in Fulton. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Jack R. Thomas of Fulton and Gary T. Thomas of Taos; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held. Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, handled the arrangements.
