Bonnie M. Bailey, age 85 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the University Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
Bonnie was born September 1, 1927 in  Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of the late Ray and Jewell Clardy Bailey.
A life-long resident of the  Jefferson City area, Bonnie was a 1945 graduate of  Jefferson City High School.
She was employed by the State of Missouri for thirty-five years, retiring from the State Courts Administrator’s Office on September 1, 1987.
Bonnie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Learning in Retirement Program.
She was an active contributor to St. Mary’s Hospital Mended Hearts Program.
Bonnie loved to travel and made many trips both in the United States and worldwide.
Survivors include: one sister, Joyce Bailey of Warrensburg, Mo. and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Vivian Bailey.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, 2013.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Jeannie Martin Webb officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Grover W. Van Winkle, age 71 years, of Tebbetts, Mo., died Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Four Seasons Nursing Center in Sedalia, Mo.
Grover was born March 29, 1941 in Hoxie, Arkansas the son of Grover and Grace Kennedy Van Winkle.
He was married on July 5, 1966 in Bamberg, Germany to Etelka M. Schneeberger.
Grover served in the United States Army for twenty years until his retirement in 1979.
He served as a medic in the Vietnam conflict and was honored for bravery with a Purple Heart, two Bronze Star with Valor, and two Arcom medals with Valor.
After retiring from the military, Grover was employed as a Nurse at the Missouri State Penitentiary until his retirement in 1991.
Grover enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife, Etelka Van Winkle; three daughters, Karoline Schneeberger of California, Angelika Kelley of St. James, Mo., and Victoria Welschmeyer and her husband Ted of Tebbetts, Mo.; two sons, Gerhard Van Winkle of Sedalia, Mo., William Van Winkle of Charleston, Mo., and; one sister, Helen Oberkramer of Illinois; two brothers, Harry Pilgrim of Little Rock, Ark. and Michael Lorch of Pearl, Miss.; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Van Winkle; one daughter, Alice Van Winkle Johnson; one sister, Alma Forderer; and one brother, Edward Isom.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Freeman Chapel.
Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at Summit Memorial Park in Holts Summit, Mo.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mr. Robert L. Wadley, age 86 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Fulton, Mo.
Robert was born on August 21, 1925 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Robert W. and Leona Zehendner Wadley.
He was married on June 22, 1963 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Ruth Adkins.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Robert attended  Jefferson City High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific on the USS Windham Bay Aircraft Carrier.
Robert was employed as a brick layer in the construction industry for many years on many commercial and residential buildings including  Jefferson City High School, Central Dairy, and Central Bank and was a sixty-five year member of Brick Layers Local 15.
He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness. Robert enjoyed gardening and working around his home.
Survivors include: his wife of forty-eight years, Ruth Wadley; one daughter, Elaina Heislen and her husband Kevin of  Jefferson City, Mo; one sister, Anne McDaniel of  Jefferson City, Mo; one grandson, Forrest Wadley of New Bloomfield, Mo; and one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Forest Wadley.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, October 15, 2011 in the Freeman Chapel with the Mr. Gary Carey officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Worldwide Bible Education Fund with Jehovah’s Witness or the P. T. O. at the Kenneth Kirshner State School. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Mae Floreine “Flossie” Ochsner, age 95 years of  Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Bluffs.
Flossie was born August 7, 1916 in Cantril, Iowa the daughter of Leslie and Leana Shaw.
She was married on June 13, 1941 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Hugo B. “Swede” Ochsner who preceded her death on June 17, 1995.
While she was born in southern Iowa, she grew up in Downing, Mo. where the Shaws owned a general store.
Flossie always spoke of what a happy childhood she and her older brother had there.
She graduated from high school, went to business school and moved to  Jefferson City to work for state government.
Flossie worked at Schnider’s Men’s Wear in downtown  Jefferson City.
The store was owned by her husband and his step-father, Arnold Schnider.
She worked as a bookkeeper and clerk during that time.
While they did not have any children of their own, they were “second parents” to many of their relatives and friend’s children and played an active role in their lives. These now grown children benefitted from their care and greatly appreciate all the care and love that Swede and Flossie shared with them.
Flossie was a life long member of the First Baptist Church but also enjoyed attending services with friends at their churches as well.
Flossie enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs.
She was also a member of the  Jefferson City Country Club and was an avid golfer for many years, and she played bridge and golf well into her 80’s.
She contributed to her community but tended to do it in a quieter way than many.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting with their many friends and family across the United States as well as those closer to home.
She enjoyed cooking and loved caring for her lawn and gardening prior to moving to Oak Tree Villa.
She later moved to Heisinger Bluffs and St. Joseph’s Bluffs.
What she will be remembered most for, however, was her incredibly positive outlook on life, her ability to look for the good in people as well was her ability to connect with them.
This was evident until the end of her life in spite of a lengthy illness.
Survivors include: her brother-in-law, George E. Morse of  Jefferson City, Mo; two god daughters as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who live across the United States.
Flossie was preceded in death by several members of the family in the  Jefferson City area including Arnold and Elizabeth Schnider, her in-laws, Betty Schnider, her sister-in-law, and her husband of fifty-four years, Hugh B. Ochsner.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2011 in the Freeman Chapel with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Shriners Childrens Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Dorothy Irene Reed Gidel, age 92 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., a former Decatur, Illinois resident, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Capital Region Medical Center.
Dorothy was born July 23, 1919 in Whitmore Township, Macon County, Illinois the daughter of Lester Amos and Irene Rhodes Reed.
She was married on April 19, 1942 at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Illinois to Harold Raymond Gidel.
She was a life long resident of the Decatur, Illinois area until 2009 when Harold and Dorothy moved to  Jefferson City, Mo.
She graduated from Decatur High School in 1937.
Dorothy was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur and she served as a Sunday School teacher and held many offices in the Sunday School Department as well as the United Methodist Women. She was a life member of the P. T. A and an active member of the Boodette Unit of the Homemakers Education Assn.
She worked as a secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Macon County, Illinois.
She was a homemaker and loved every aspect of it, as well as being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband of sixty-nine years, Harold; two daughters, Julie Callaghan and her husband Michael of St. Louis, Mo. and Jeanann Neighbors and her husband David of  Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Callaghan, Alyssa Callaghan, Tyler Bartimus, and Haley Bartimus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, William Raymond Pisell, and her brother, Virgil Lester Reed, Sr.
Visitation will be at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, Illinois from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2011 and at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Kathy King-Nobles officiating.
Interment will be at the Union Cemetery at Oreana, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Decatur, Illinois or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Helen K. Wieberg, age 85 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo. passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, Illinois.
Helen was born on June 25, 1926 in  Jefferson City, Mo. a daughter of William L. and Otellia Weith Brenner.
She was married on October 25, 1952 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to Wilbert J. Wieberg, who preceded her in death on December 20, 1965.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Helen was employed for 45 years with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources retiring in June 1994 as a clerk in their public drinking water program.
She was a past member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Helen was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; but most importantly, she always loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and keeping up with friends.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael A. Wieberg and his wife Cindy of Linn, Mo. and Mark J. Wieberg and his wife Mariam Sutton of Jerseyville, Illinois; one sister, Della Chapman of  Jefferson City, Mo.; her son-in-law; Jerry Randolph of Meta, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Anthony Wieberg, Kami Wieberg, Edward Wieberg, Melissa Rosemann, Heather Rosemann, Bethany Wieberg, and Amanda Wieberg; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert J. Wieberg; her daughter, Wilberta C. Randolph on September 1, 2011; two sisters, Opal Bandelier and Rita Schneider; and one brother, Claude Brenner.
Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2011.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend I. C. Medina officiating.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

Mrs. Eleanor E. Jones, age 85 years, of  Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at her home.
Eleanor was born on September 11, 1926 in Maryville, Mo. a daughter of Roy and Esther Gordon Arthur.
She was married on June 17, 1951 in  Jefferson City, Mo. to F. Harold Jones, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2009.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Eleanor graduated from  Jefferson City High School in 1944 and from  Jefferson City Junior College in 1946.
She was employed at Tweedies Shoe Factory and later became a secretary with the Department of Education, retiring in 1957.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Kings’s Daughter Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church and was a Beta Sigma Phi.
Eleanor had many hobbies that included: antiquing, knitting and decorating. Her favorite pastime though was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and keeping up with old friends.
Survivors include: her daughter, DeAnn Mealy and her husband Mitch of  Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Mitzi Napier and her husband Steve of Holts Summit, Mo., Marc Mealy and his wife Monnie of Linn, Mo. and Matthew Mealy of  Jefferson City, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, David McCannon, Haylee McCannon, Tyler Wolken-Mealy and Miranda Vanzant; four nieces and nephews, Roy S. Arthur, David R. Arthur and his wife Kathleen, Katherine E. Arthur, and Lori L. Backes and her husband Anthony; and a half nephew, Doug Stiverson and his wife Jo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jones; one brother, Roy R. Arthur; and a half brother, Carol Stiverson.
Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church, the Special Learning Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
