Mrs. Rachel Butler Weaver

Saturday, October 25, 2003

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Butler Weaver, 85, were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Soule Harbour Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak. Brother Gerald Butler and Brother Bobby Joe Butler officiated. Burial followed in Shuqualak Cemetery.

A native of Gholson, Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of Soule Harbour Pentecostal Church. She died Sunday, October 25, 2003 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Lynn Knight of Brooksville; one son, Bobby Joe Weaver of Shuqualak; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and five great greeat grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Soule Harbour Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak.

Arrangements were made by Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon.

Mr. Reed Kennedy

Mr. Reed Kennedy, 74, of Louisville, MS, died October 16, 2003 at Winston Medical Center.

Mr. Kennedy was a Member of Bethsalem Presbyterian Church, a Graduate of University of Miss and a member of The Ole Miss Alumni Assn.

Services were held at Bethsalem Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Courtney officiating and burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors include one brother, Billy James Kennedy of Torrance, CA.

Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Larry McBride Starnes

Sunday, October 26, 2003

Funeral services for Mt. Larry McBride Starnes, 56, were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Ackerman. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery in Choctaw County.

A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Starnes was a resident of Indianola and a retired truck driver for Supervalue Foods after 28 years of service. He was a Vietnam-era veteran and Church of Christ by religion. Mr. Starnes died Sunday, October 26, 2003 at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Survivors include his longtime companion Jean Kelley of Indianola; one daughter, Monica Roberts of Indianola; five brothers, Harold Starnes, Willis Starnes and Randy Starnes, all of Ackerman, Howard Starnes of Kenner, La. , and Donald Starnes of Louisville; eight sisters, Ruth Dickerson and Vera Henderson, both of Ackerman, Mary Hirose and Barbara Starnes, both of Eupora, Opal Prewitt of Greenville, Bessie McMillan of Memphis, Tenn. , Eunice Crittendon of Jackson and Saundra Wright of Indianola and one grandson.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Deborah Gail Thomas

Mrs. Deborah Gail Thomas, age 43, of Houlka, MS, died October 29, 2003 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Mrs. Thomas was Church of God faith and a Homemaker. She is survived by her husband Willie Thomas of Houlka; one daughter, Holly Doss of Houlka; two sons, Chris Doss and Adam Doss both of Houlka; two sisters, Linda Thomas and Tammy Schmitz of Houlka; one brother of Augusta, Georgia and one grandchild, Jermaine Doss.

Services were held November 1, 2003 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, MS and interment in Embry Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers: Contributions to the family may be sent to C/O Wise Funeral Home, P. O. Box 863, Eupora, MS 39744.

William Frazier

Funeral services for William Frazier were held Thursday, Oct. 30, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Nail Officiating and burial in Beulah Cemetery in Choctaw County. Mr. Frazier, 55, died Oct. 28, 2003 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was a native of Neshoba County and lived in Philadelphia most of his life. He was a former employee of Hardy Manufacturing and was a self-employed bio-medical technician. Mr. Frazier served in the U. S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Frazier of McCool; 2 daughters, April Frazier Boler and her husband, Michael of Brookhaven, and Stacey Frazier Rives and her husband Roger L. of Millbrook, AL; 9 grandchildren, Lori Lynn Rives, Roger M. Rives, Grayson Boler, Gavin Boler, Tori McCulloch, Meghan McCulloch, Dillon Jones, Dawson Jones, and Sierra Jones; 2 step-children, Kandie Jones and her husband Virgil of Ackerman, and Wade McCulloch and his wife, Joni of Ackerman; one sister, Francis Hicks of Philadelphia; two brothers, Harvey Frasier of Grenada, and Robert Neese of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Gary Sullivan, Dwight Hicks, Key Seward, Virgil Jones, Johnny Sullivan, and Trickye Norris. Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

Mr. Joseph Alexander Hendrix

Thursday, October 30, 2003

Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Alexander Hendrix, 84, were held at 3 p. m. Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus. Bro. Tim Williams, Bro. Doug Bedgood and Bro. Ralph Windle officiated. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Columbus.

A Baldwyn native, Mr. Hendrix was employed by Continental Trailways Bus Lines, California Eastern Airways of Mission, Texas, and Tennessee Valley Authority's Brown's Ferry Nuclear Power Plant in Athens, Ala. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Elks Club and Lions Club. Mr. Hendrix died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Stanley Hendrix of Columbus; two sons, Joe Hendrix Jr. of Vicksburg and Perry Hendrix of Columbus; one sister, Martha Sue Price of Oxen Hill, Md. , and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joey Hendrix, Jeff Hendrix, Scott Hendrix, Steve Hendrix, Gene Childs, Ashley Kuhn, Richard Saddler, Chris Childs and Bryan Childs.

Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Whitlock, James McNees, Lamar harper, Miles Prater, Dow Phillips, Ned Barnette, Buster Luke, T. A. Caldwell, Buford Doughty, Tony Torrez, Shaden Whitten, Bill Arinder, Don Miller, Charlie Johnson, Joe Page, Ed Riley, Thomas McCrary, Bud Rowley, Jim Brown, Frank Ray, Billy Reeves, Buddy Shelton, Charles House, Dr. Brad Brown and Dr. Barton Williams.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 16808, Jackson, MS 39236.

Mrs. Grace S. Gatlin

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Gatlin, 89, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Ackerman. The Rev. George Buell and the Rev. Jerry Lawson officiated. Burial followed in South Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Ackerman.

A native of Mississippi, Mrs. Gatlin was a retired nurse and a member of South Union Methodist Church in Ackerman. Mrs. Gatlin died Friday, October 31, 2003 at Choctaw County Nursing Home in Ackerman.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Gatlin of Ackerman and Billy Gatlin of Braxton; one daughter, Onie Johns of Memphis, Tenn. ; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to South Union Methodist Church in Ackerman.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joel A. Carter

Funeral services for Mr. Joel A. Carter, 41, were held at 2 p. . m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Ackerman United Methodist Church in Ackerman. The Rev. George Buell officiated. Burial followed in Enon Cemetery in Choctaw County.

A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Carter was a resident of Ackerman and am X-ray/lab technician. He was a member of Ackerman United Methodist Church. Mr. Carter died Sunday, November 2, 2003 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include his wife, Tracie M. Carter of Ackerman; two sons, Jake Carter and Logan Carter, both of Ackerman; one daughter, Leanna Carter of Ackerman; his father, James Carter of Ackerman; his mother, Reva Jean Carter of Ackerman; two brothers, Jim Carter of Ackerman and John Carter of Florida and one sister, Judy Henning of Ackerman.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Redman Hudson

October 30, 2003

Funeral services for Mr. Redman Hudson, 90, were held at 2 p. m. Monday, November 3, 2003 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Louisville. The Rev. Martha Williams officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Louisville.

A native of Neshoba County, Mr. Hudson was a retired carpenter and a veteran. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Hudson died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at his home in Winston County.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hudson of Louisville; two sisters, Mary Weaver and Dean Jones; four brothers, the Rev. Glasper Hudson, the Rev. Lindberg West, Lester West and William Stephens; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Mr. Frank S. Parker

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

Funeral services for Mr. Frank S. Parker, 83, were held at 2 p. m. Friday, November 14, 2003 at Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Dr. Don Boone and the Rev. Keith Dendy officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville.

A resident of Louisville, Mr. Parker was a retired plumbing contractor and a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. He was a member of Dancing Rabbit Hunting Club and a member of the D P Club at Luigi's. Mr. Parker died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at his residence in Louisville.

Survivors include two daughters, Frankie Johns and Jo Ann Jennings, both of Louisville; two sons, Leroy Parker of Starkville and Barry Parker of Louisville; two sisters, Willie Mae Elliot and Christine Samuelson, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, W. M. Parker Jr. of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ross Parker, Eric Parker, Thomas Peterson, Paul Halfacre, Billy Cherry, Jeff Cherry, Terry Bullock and Chris Bosarge.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Dancing Rabbit Hunting Club and members ot the D P Club at Luigi's.

Nowell-Tilghman Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jean Wise Haaga

November 22, 2003

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Wise Haaga, 81, were held November 24 at Forest Hill in Memphis. Burial followed in Halls Cemetery in Halls, Tenn.

A native of Blytheville, Ark, , and former resident of Louisville, Mrs. Haaga was a retired employee of Union Planters Bank and had been an active member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and the Fortnightly Club. She was a resident of Memphis, Tenn. , and a current member of Second Baptist Church of Memphis and King's Daughters. Mrs. Haaga was a 1940 graduate of Central High School in Memphis, Tenn. , where she was a member of the Glee Club. She attended Southwestern College, now Rhodes, in the 1940s and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the Southwestern Singers. Mrs. Haaga died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Memphis, Tenn.

Survivors include two sons, Rayford Haaga of Memphis and Bert Haaga of Niger, Africa; one sister, Mary Ann Davidson of Memphis, Tenn. , and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy or the charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Everette Edward Pyle

November 30, 2003

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Everette Pyle, 84, were held at 2 p. m. Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Springhill Missionary Church in Berne, Ind. Burial followed in Springhill Cemetery.

A native of Geneva, Ind. , Mr. Pyle was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Springhill Missionary Church. He and his wife of 64 years spent the past 25 winters at Rails End Park near Wildwood, Fla. , where he attended Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Pyle died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at his daughter's home in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Agnes Pyle; one daughter, Gretchen Gerber of Louisville; two sons, Roger Pyle of Rockford, Ohio, and Kenneth Pyle of Delphi, Ind. ; nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 523, Louisville, MS 39339.

Mrs. Sarah V. Sprayberry

December 1, 2003

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah V. Sprayberry, 83, were held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko. The Rev. Barry Corbett and the Rev. Bill Chatham officiated. Burial followed in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.

A resident of Kosciusko, Mrs. Sprayberry was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Sprayberry died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Monfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan Wiliams of Louisville, Kinda McDonald of Kosciusko and Gail Smith of Pearl; to sons, Paul A. Sprayberry of Ocean Springs and Jackie H. Sprayberry of Ethel; one brother, Joe Skinner of Meridian; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kevin Sprayberry, Shane Sprayberry, Brian Williams, Darrell Williams, Frankie Sprayberry and Kenneth Skinner.

Jordan Funeral home of Kosciusko was in charge of arrangements.
