Lefler

OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Funeral services for Knox Duncan Lefler, 76, of Owensboro, Ky., will be today at 11:30 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro. He died Feb. 8, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Burial will be in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Owensboro, he was self-employed in architectural design. He was a Methodist and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart award. He enjoyed morning coffee with his friends and spending time on his farm with his dog.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Lefler of Fayetteville, Ark., and Tony Lefler of Owensboro, Ky.; two daughters, Tina Rhoads of Baton Rouge, La., and Lisa Lefler of Victorville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. until service time.

Meadows

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for Willard O. Meadows, 83, a retired route man of Greenville, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. He died Feb. 10, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, of heart failure. Burial will follow at the Greenville Cemetery.

Meadows was born Dec. 31, 1918, at Magee, Miss., to O.C. and Nettie Meadows. He grew up at Magee, where he received his education. He has been a resident of Greenville since 1957, where he was employed for 26 years as a route salesman for Grenada Farms Milk. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. Meadows and Nettie Sellers Meadows; one son, Willard O. Meadows Jr.; one daughter, Louise Meadows Langford; two brothers, J.P. Meadows and Millard Meadows. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Willie Merle Meadows. He later married Mavis Baldwin in 1972. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Meadows of Greenville, Miss.; three sons, Arthur L. (Jeanette) Meadows of Lucedale, Miss., Charles (Linda) Meadows of Greenville, Miss., and Wilson (Kelly) Meadows of Vicksburg, Miss.; three stepsons, Jimmy (Lolly) Baldwin of Detroit, Mich., Jerry (Leslie) Baldwin of Roy, Utah, and Johnny (Bonnie) Baldwin of Caspin, Mich.; three daughters, Betty Jean (Carl) Upton of Vicksburg, Miss., Beatrice (Jimmy) Pitts of Laurel, Miss., and Elaine (Jackie) Neely of Brandon, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Pat (Ronnie) Heranney of Greenville, Miss., and Phyllis Evans of Churchill, Tenn.; two sisters, Katie Kemp of Leland, Miss., and Pauline Benton of Newport News, Va.; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Rev. Rip Noble will officiate.

Raddin

GREENVILLE -- Funeral services for the Rev. Roy David Raddin, 71, of Greenville, a retired Baptist minister, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Greenville. He died Feb. 9, 2002, at Herman Memorial City Hospital, Houston, Texas, as a result of a massive stroke. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg, under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Raddin was a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., where he graduated from Hattiesburg High School. He was a graduate of Mississippi College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several churches, including Anguilla Baptist Church, Tchula Baptist Church and the Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He served as director of missions for the Washington County Baptist Association. After his retirement, he served as interim pastor of Alexander Memorial and Moorhead Baptist churches. He was a member of the Greenville Rotary Club, where he had served as president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He held a 39-year perfect attendance record.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Corley Raddin of Greenville, Miss.; a daughter, Donna C. Babb and her husband Joey, of Madison, Miss.; a son, David Raddin and his wife Brenda, of Madison, Miss.; a brother, Ray Raddin of Houston, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Charlie, Kate, LeeAnn, Laurie, David, Bradley and Ryan.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Greenville; Washington School in Greenville; or Chapel Fund at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

Campbell

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Roy Campbell, 90, of Greenville will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Arratt Church, Stoneville. He died April 11, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

Roy Campbell was born May 12, 1912, in Washington County to Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell.

He confessed Christ at an early age at New Mt. Arratt Church, Stoneville, under the leadership of the Rev. Gentry, where he served as a church usher for many hears. He was employed at the Leland Oil Mill until his retirement.

On Dec. 23, 1933, he was united in holy matrimony to Irene West. To this union, no children were born.

He leaves to cherish is memories, his wife, Mrs. Irene West Campbell of Greenville; two nieces, Lue Jimmie (Eddie) Thornsburg of Leland and Pearl Addison of Greenville; two grand-nieces, JaNet Thornsburg of Downey, Calif., and Edith Thornsburg of Greenville; six grand-nephews, Fred West of St. Louis, Mo., Charles Thornsburg of Leland, Jeffery Jones of Chicago, Ill., Versey Brown of Leland, Christopher Thornsburg of Greenville and Caleb Benton of Downey, Calif.; and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

Apostle Ronald G. Woodruff will officiate.

Carter

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Kendrick Orlando "Ko Ko" Carter Jr., five months, of Rolling Fork, will be today at 3 p.m. at Shiloh MB Church, Rolling Fork. He died April 5, 2002, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Rolling Fork, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Survivors include his father, Kendrick Orlando Carter Sr.; his mother, Reshonda Renea Larry of Rolling Fork; his grandmother, Cherry Larry of Mayersville; his grandfather, Robert Thomas of Beaumont, Texas; a great-grandmother, Mariah Larry of Rolling Fork; and one brother, Larobert Rosharn Larry of Rolling Fork.

Pastor J.H. Whitehead will officiate.

Hardy-Rogers

LOS ANGELES — Funeral services for Diane Hardy-Rogers, 47, of Los Angeles and formerly of Indianola, Miss., were March 30 in Angeles Crenshaw Funeral Home chapel, Los Angeles. She died March 19, 2002, in California. Burial was in Inglewood Park Cemetery.

Born Jan. 15, 1955, in Indianola, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Hardy Sr. and Mrs. Flora Hardy. She was a former faithful member and church secretary of Union Grove MB Church of Indianola.

She was a 1973 graduate of Gentry High School and continued her education at Javis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. She was employed at the L.A. County Office of Education for 21 years as a para educator.

Survivors include her husband, James Rogers of Los Angeles; a daughter, Tonyell Rogers of Los Angeles; her mother, Flora Hardy of Indianola; six sisters, Rosie Richardson of Detroit, Mich., Lillie Wilson of Chicago, Ill., Armetta Austin of Los Angeles, and Doris Hart, Venetta Hardy and Jacqueline Henderson, all of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Eddie Hardy of Chicago, Ill., and Leroy Hardy Jr. of Indianola; and a special nephew, Correll Hardy of Indianola.

Patterson

ARCOLA — Funeral services for Claudia Harris Patterson, 71, of Oakland, Calif., and formerly of Bourbon will be at 2 p.m. today at Pilgrim Rest MB Church, Arcola. She died April 3, 2002, in Oakland. Burial will be in Kindling Altar Cemetery, Bourbon, under the direction of Harris, Brown & Marion Funeral Home, Greenville.

She leaves to mourn this life one sister, Mrs. Margaret Josephine Martin of Hollandale; two brothers, Mr. Clyde Harris of Chicago, Ill., and Mr. Bruce Harris of Columbus, Ohio; three aunts, Miss Julie Austin of Greenwood, Mrs. Minnie Mae Robinson of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Annie Goines of Chicago; one stepsister, Shirley Ann Walker of Greenville; one stepbrother, Mr. Sam Bell of Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Rev. Eddie Jefferson will officiate.

Stovall

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Wilbert R. Stovall, 79, of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. He died April 12, 2002, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Brock

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Emmett Brock Sr., 78, of Greenville will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at New Hope First Baptist Church, Greenville. He died June 3, 2002, at The King's Daughters Hospital, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Brock's life will be honored on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at New Hope First Baptist Church, 705 Nelson St., Greenville, Miss. The Rev. Robert E. Kimble will officiate. He died of heart failure on Monday, June, 3, 2002. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his father, mother, and siblings. Most recently were his sisters, Mrs. Alice M. Thomas and Ms. Anne Brock.

Mr. Brock leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Odessa D. Brock of Greenville; two sons, Emmett (Dawn) Brock Jr. of Milwaukee and Charles R. (Christine) Brock of Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Deborah D. (Solomon) Osborne of Greenwood and Sheila D. (Aaron) Capers of Champaign, Ill.; his grandchildren, Solomon C. Osborne Jr., Ebbon M. Brock, Jimmye D. Brock, Kai T. Osborne, Americk D. Capers, Ion D. Hunter, Ghenaia J. Capers, Alex Cater, Aaron Capers III, Christina J. Brock, Eric D. Capers and Taylor S. Brock; one great-grandchild, Desiree S. Capers; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be today from 1 to 5 p.m. at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. The remains will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Dukes

AVON — Funeral services for Albert P. "J.R." Dukes Jr., 19, of Avon will be today at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Greenville. He died June 8, 2002, as a result of a swimming accident at Lake Ferguson, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

"J.R." was born Sept. 19, 1982, at Sardis, Miss., to Albert and Julia Dukes. He moved to Avon at an early age with his parents. He attended Riverside School. He was employed with Greenville Gravel Co. at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.R. and Maurine Dukes.

Survivors include his parents, Albert and Julia Dukes Sr. of Avon; his maternal grandparents, Walter and Frankie Mae Frazier of Woodland, Miss.; two sisters, Patricia Sutherland and Cathy Dukes, both of Avon; one nephew, Avery Blaine Sutherland of Avon; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins and many friends.

The Rev. Scott Frank will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Jack Cook, Allen Godwin, Willie Frazier, Bill Dukes, John Blade, James Johnson, L.C. Lumpkin and James N. Roush.

Harris

DREW — Funeral arrangements for Curtis Harris, 74, of Drew are pending at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville. He died June 10, 2002, at North Sunflower County Hospital, Ruleville.

Irving

MOORHEAD — Funeral arrangements for Hannah Lee Irving, 98, of Moorhead are pending at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home, Greenville. She died June 10, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Southaven.

Jones

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Lucille Jones, age unavailable, of Greenville are pending at Bea's Century Funeral Home, Greenville. She died June 8, 2002, at her home.

Neyman

OCEAN SPRINGS — A memorial service for Maxine "Kinkey" Tompkins Neyman, 90, of Ocean Springs, will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Ocean Springs. She died June 10, 2002, in Ocean Springs. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes Inc., Ocean Springs.

She was born Feb. 23, 1912. She was a former resident of Greenville, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greenville. She was a resident of Ocean Springs for eight years, and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ocean Spring. She and her twin sister, Margaret, celebrated their 90th birthday together in February.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel O. Neyman Jr.; one son, Samuel O. Neyman III; one brother, W.C. Tompkins; and her parents, Effie and Cicero Tompkins.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Neyman Lemon of Ocean Springs; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Neyman of Mobile, Ala.; her twin sister, Margaret Dawson Neyman of Ocean Springs; 13 grandchildren, Kelly Lemon Simonse (Todd), Scott Lemon (Barbara), Jim Lemon (Shari), Leslie Lemon Hunt (Jamey), Amy Lemon, Aaron Bradshaw (Donna), Kenny Neyman (Sandra), Natalie Neyman Rogers (Mike), Bradley Newman (Julia), Ray Wesson (Lisa), Allison Wesson Pitts (Brian), Dave Wesson and Jason Wesson; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Ann Wesson Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 738, Biloxi, MS. 39533; or Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 1044, Ocean Springs, MS. 39566.
