SUNFLOWER — Funeral services for Emma Lee Glover, 87, of Sunflower will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter MB Church, Sunflower. She died Feb. 10, 2003, at Chateau Manor Nursing Home, Shelby. Burial will be in St. Peter MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include three brothers, James McMath of South Haven, Mich., Henry McMath of Zion, Ill., and Mose McMath Jr. of Mound Bayou; and one sister, Rose Taylor of Covert, Mich.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

The Rev. Jimmy Barnett will officiate.

Harris

RULEVILLE — Funeral services for Jimmy L. Harris, 65, of Ruleville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at I John MB Church, Doddsville. He died Feb. 6, 2003, at his home. Burial will be in I John MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include five brothers, Sammie Harris of Greenwood, Charlie Harris and John L. Harris, both of Marks, and John Earl Harris and James Harris, both of Ruleville; and two sisters, Rosie L. Hall and Mammie B. Caldwell, both of Ruleville.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Bishop Lenardo Brown will officiate.

Hull

DREW — Funeral services for Frankie Lee Hull, 64, of Drew will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Second Baptist MB Church, Drew. He died Feb. 6, 2003, at his home. Burial will be in Drew Cemetery under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include four sons, Frankie Lee Hull Jr. of Paramount, Calif., Barney Dale Hull of Cerritos, Calif., and Napoleon Hull and Mario Hull, both of Los Angeles; four daughters, Ora Lee Harris of Chicago, Bertha Hull and Yvette King, all of Los Angeles, and Wanda Hull of Lakewood, Calif.; four brothers, Joe Willie Moore of Ruleville, Judge Jim Davis Hull of Moss Point, Willie Frank Hull of Kosciusko and Thomas Hull of Southfield, Mich.; three sisters, Annie B. Thigpen of Drew, and Berda Mae Smith and Georgia Hull Journey, both of Kosciusko; 24 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

The Rev. Jesse Gresham will officiate.

Mercer

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Loraine G. Mercer, 79, of Greenville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul MB Church, Greenville. She died Feb. 5, 2003, at her home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Leland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Mercer Sr.; two sisters, Lena Freeman and Annie Maude Richardson; and one brother, Jessie Thomas Griffith.

Mrs. Mercer was a devoted mother of St. Paul MB Church for many years until her health failed.

Survivors include her loving children, Elder Marian Mercer and Patricia (Othell) Phinisee, both of Greenville, James Mercer and Janice Johnson, both of Montgomery, Ala., and Darryl Mercer of Frankfurt, Germany; one sister, Ruby O'Bannon of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Family hour will be today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul MB Church, Greenville. The body will lie in state Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The Rev. Jesse Amos will officiate.

Powell

ROLLING FORK — Funeral services for Freddie Lee Powell Sr., 38, of Rolling Fork will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh MB Church, Rolling Fork. He died Feb. 9, 2003, at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital, Rolling Fork. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Rolling Fork, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Rolling Fork.

Mr. Powell was a mechanic with a small engine repair shop in Rolling Fork for several years.

Survivors include his mother, Lillie Mae Powell of Rolling Fork; his wife, Teresa Powell of Rolling Fork; five sons, Freddie Powell Jr., Kenneth Miles, Cedric Miles, Antonio Miles and Fredric Miles, all of Rolling Fork; one daughter, Jessica Powell of Rolling Fork; five brothers, Curtis Hall of Fairfield, Calif., Jerry Lee Powell of Jackson, Sammie Lee Powell of Chicago and Larry Powell and Bobbie Joe Powell, both of Rolling Fork; three sisters, Shirley Powell and Velma Warren, both of Rolling Fork, and Dorothy Hall of Kountz, Texas.

Stokes

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Dorothy Stokes, 74, of Greenville will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter MB Church, Greenville. She died Feb. 8, 2003, at her home. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include two sons, Danny (Lori) Stokes of Atlanta, Ga., and Carl W. Stokes of Greenville; five daughters, Betty Lue Moering, Jewell Norris and Frances Casteele, all of Greenville, and Mary (Walter) Branch and Margaret Stokes, both of Memphis; four stepchildren, Riley Stokes Jr. of Australia, Dan Mitchell Waren of Robins, Ga., Corine Hubbard of New Orleans and Earnestine Hubbard of Chicago; three brothers, Roy Robinson, Charles Robinson and Marcc Robinson, all of Memphis; two sisters, Lucille (James) Ellis of Memphis and Lorine Robinson of Houston, Texas; 35 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. Family hour will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Sisson Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

The Rev. Jessie King will officiate.

Taylor

LELAND — Funeral services for Sammie "Tony" Taylor, 59, of Leland will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Zion MB Church, Leland. He died Feb. 11, 2003, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

The Rev. Earl Reed will officiate.

Vallery

HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for Rosa Mae Vallery, 75, of Hollandale will be Saturday at noon at St. Luke MB Church, Hollandale. She died Feb. 8, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Luke MB Church Cemetery, Hollandale, under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Survivors include four sons, Earl (Dorothy) Vallery, James (Sherry) Vallery, the Rev. Lee (Shirley) Vallery and the Rev. Leon (Rosalyn) Vallery, all of Hollandale; five daughters, Lula Bell of Delta City, Margie Royster of Jacksonville, Ark., and Vivian (Willie) Winston, Angela (Cleo) Brockman and Daisy (Rufus) Stafford, all of Hollandale; six brothers, Leon (Sophia) Kellum, William (Josie) Kellum and Charles Kellum, all of Chicago, and Sherrod (Rose) Kellum, Curt (Linda) Kellum and Jessie Kellum, all of Greenville; six sisters, Letha Lindsey of Chicago, Rosie D. Jackson and Claudette (J.C.) McCarter, both of St. Louis, Mo., Virgie (Edward) Harris of St. Louis, Ill., and Nancy (Willie) Strickland and Addruss (Raymond) Young, both of Houston, Texas; 40 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale. Family hour will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at T.R. Sanders Chapel at Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Wilson

SHELBY — Funeral services for Doris Ann Wilson, 38, of Shelby will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lampton Street Church of Christ, Mound Bayou. She died Feb. 6, 2003, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Shiloh Memorial Garden, Shelby, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Shelby.

Survivors include her mother, Ruby Mae Wilson of Shelby; two sons, Oriontae Wilson and Damiano Wilson, both of Shelby; four brothers, Eugene Wilson Jr. and Larry Wilson, both of Shelby, and Willie Wilson and George Wilson, both of Detroit; four sisters, Tina Jeter of Detroit, Janie Wilson of Shelby, Alize Wilson of Nashville and Ellen Matthew of Junction City, Kan.; and many friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at J.H. Hank Chapel of Byas Funeral Home, Shelby. The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Dr. Harvey Jackson will officiate.

Wright

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Luther Wright Sr., 74, of Greenville will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Greenville. He died Feb. 11, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Booker T. Wright Sr.; two sons, Kenneth Earl Wright and Kelvin D. Wright; and four brothers, Rufus Love, Booker Wright Jr., Sylvester Wright and Eddie Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Bell Wright of Greenville; three sons, Luther Wright Sr. of Jackson, Ronnie Wright of Greenville and Bruce Edward Wright of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Cora Renee (Larry) Mauzy of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Susan Smith and Chariety Wright, both of Greenville, Beulah (Cleotha) Carter of Chicago and Ollie (Johnny) Tolliver of Virginia; three brothers, Roosevelt Wright of St. Louis, Mo., and Ermon Wright and Charles (Eva) Wright, both of Greenville; five grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Roderick D. Hodges of Fort Bragg, N.C., Kevin D. Wright Jr. of Memphis, Joshua Lucas and Grace Laureen Mauzy, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dianne Best of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home chapel, Greenville.

Davis

CLEVELAND -- Funeral services for Kathren Jewel Davis, 74, a homemaker, of Cleveland were at 2 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Nowell Funeral Home, Cleveland. She died Aug. 31, 2001, at her home. Burial was in Greenville Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis, a widow, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Baptist.

She leaves two daughters, Lynette Magee of Olive Branch and Tillie Rayburn of Greenwood. She also leaves a son, Tim Davis of Leland. She leaves three sisters, Mildred Forbey of Columbus, Marie Hollis of Columbus and Neomia Lawson of Ringgold, La. She also leaves four grandchildren, Christopher Lee Davis, Nicholas Brian Davis, Jarrett Magee and Rachael Kathren Barnett.

Memorials may be sent to Community Hospice of Cleveland or the National Foundation for Cancer Research, P.O. Box 96021, Washington, D.C., 20090-6021.

Govan

GREENVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Ada Bell Govan, 81 of Greenville are pending at Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Sept. 2, 2001, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.
