ROCKINGHAM -- Mrs. Goldie Simmons Taylor, 93, of West Ridge Court, died Thursday In Richmond Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Floyd Memorial chapel in Lumberton. Burial will be in Meadowbrook cemetery in Lumberton.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons, James Taylor and Ray Taylor, both of Lumberton, and J.W. Taylor of Rockingham; two stepsons, Harold Taylor of Lumberton and Eugene Taylor of Bladenboro; four stepdaughters, Evelyn Taylor, Elizabeth C. Speights and Myrtle Hendren, all of Lumberton, and Nancy Ezzel of Bladenboro; a brother, Lawson Simmons of Bladenboro; a sister, Miriam Evers of Bladenboro, and 12 grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary and Crematorium in Lumberton.

Henry M. Price

LUMBERTON -- Henry Mack Price, 81, of Lindsay Street, died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Price was a World War II Army veteran.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Allen Phillips and James Blackwell. Burial will be in New Hollywood cemetery.

Mr. Price is survived by a son, Dewey M. Price of Lumberton; a daughter, Joyce P. Bell of Hickory, a stepson, Merle Walters of Clinton; two brothers, Paul Price of Evergreen and Milton Price of Kinston; 3 sisters, Winnie M. Pittman and Vera Lamb, both of Lumberton, and Kathleen Kagle of New Bern; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

James F. Oxendine

NEW YORK -- James Franklin Oxendine, 75, of New York, formerly of Pembroke, N.C., died Thursday in New York City Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church in Pembroke.

Mr. Oxendine is survived by his wife, Stephanie Oxendine; three sisters, Sadie Cummings, Elzetter Lowry of Pembroke and Loleta Blanks of Lumberton; and four brothers, Margolos Oxendine of Woodbridge, Va., Jerry Oxendine of Clemmons, N.C., Charlie Oxendine of Pembroke and Ray Oxendine of Gaithersburg, Md.

Joseph G. Mulholland Sr.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Joseph Gerald Mulholland Sr., 53, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died May 16.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. James Womble. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk.

Mr. Mulholland is survived by his wife, Gwen Mulholland; a daughter, Angela Soule of Colorado; a son, Joseph G. Mulholland Jr. of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Nether A. Woods of Chesapeake, Laurel L. Woods of Los Angeles and Waverly S. Woods of Virginia Beach; his mother and stepfather, Merle and Odell Kirkham of Fayetteville; a sister, Vicky Dickins of Texas; and three grandchildren.

SANFORD -- Grafton Pearce, 74, of Sanford died Friday.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Luke United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Buffalo cemetery.

Mr. Pearce is survived by two sons, James Pearce of Sanford and Herb Pearce of Lenoir; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stella J. Jones

DUNN -- Mrs. Stella Mae Jackson Jones, 81, of Elk Park died Friday in Cannon Memorial Hospital in Banner Elk.

She was a member of Godwin Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Old Bluff cemetery in Wade by the Rev. Ray Lammers.

Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Peggy Strickland of Elk Park; a sister, Estelene Bullard of Wade; a brother, Robert Jackson of Godwin; and two grandsons.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home.

CLINTON -- Larry Duet Tatum, 73, of 150 Tatum Lane died Tuesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Ashley Chapel AME Zion Church by the Rev. A.D. Brown. Burial will be in the Tatum family cemetery.

Mr. Tatum is survived by his wife, Ethel Tatum; two daughters, Doretha Bronson of Clinton and Carrie J. McArthur of Benson; a son, Clif Powell of Washingtonville, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Linda Wright and Connie Howard, both of Clinton; two stepsons, Willie Howard of Clinton and Lenburg Underwood of the home; his stepmother, Lucille Robinson of Clinton; seven sisters, Loretta Wynn, Mary Royal, Ora Boykin and Genorta Stykes, all of Clinton, Evelyn Brown of New York, Annie Mason and Patricia Fowler, both of Chicago; two brothers, John Tatum and Yancey Robinson, both of Clinton; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

LUMBERTON -- Carlyle B. Biggs, 85, of Lumberton died Thursday.

Mr. Biggs was the owner of an insurance company, and was a retired real estate agent. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lumberton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Sudan Temple and Lions Club. He was a World War II veteran.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Biggs Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook cemetery.

Mr. Biggs is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Donaghy; a brother, Franklin Biggs of Lumberton; two sisters, Elizabeth Owens of Brevard and Louise Gray of LaGrange; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Osborne was employed by WACO Construction.

Mr. Osborne is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Osborne; his mother, Eloise D. Osborne of Fayetteville; a son, James “Jimmy” W. Osborne III of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kimberly A. Klapperich of Fort Knox, Ky., and Amber Osborne of Augusta, Ga.; four stepsons, three stepdaughters; two brothers, Ronnie E. Osborne and James E. Osborne, both of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
