LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Faye Pittman Allen, 55, of Ivey Road died Wednesday in Kingsdale Manor nursing home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Mark Brown and Mitchell Nance. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Knox Allen of the home; a son, Myron A. Allen of Lumberton; two daughters, Donna Harrell and Angie Bissell, both of Lumberton; her mother, Dorothy Pittman of Lumberton; two brothers, Jim Pittman of Whitehouse, Tenn., and Roy Pittman of Lumberton; seven sisters, Margie Smith of Long Beach, Betty Tyner, Susan Pittman and Patricia Mayers, all of Lumberton, Sharon Edwards of Fayetteville, Shelby Wilcox of Little River, S.C., and Deborah Connor of Proctorville; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

MAXTON -- Mrs. Irene Cummings, 68, of 252 Nikki Lane died Wednesday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mrs. Lena Sanders of 506 Colonial Terrace died Sunday.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Rhodes Funeral Home chapel in Goldsboro by the Rev. Emory Peterson. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Among Mrs. Sanders’ survivors is a brother, Sidney O. Devane of Fayettville; and a sister, Lillie G. McNeil of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Patricia E. Vile, 81, of 5626-A Netherfield Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.

WASHINGTON -- Gilbert McCormick, 56, of 3900 14th St. NW, formerly of Evergreen, N.C., died Thursday in Shady Grove Memorial Hospital in Shady Grove, Md.

BALTIMORE -- David Davis, 34, of Baltimore, formerly of Raeford, N.C., died Saturday.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Prayer Deliverance Center in Raeford by Bishop Otis McPhatter. Burial will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Davis is survived by six daughters; five sons; his mother, Ruthie M. Bryant of Raeford; his stepfather, Frank Bryant of Raeford; two brothers, Alexander Davis and the Rev. Willie Davis, both of Raeford; and two sisters, Patricia Davis and Glenda Wall, both of Wagram.

James E. Hess (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)
PINEHURST -- James Edgar “Jim” Hess, 71, of 5 Prichard Lane died Wednesday in his home.
He was a retired senior partner for Locus, Inc., in State College, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Village Chapel by the Rev. Ed Galloway. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
Mr. Hess is survived by his wife, Suzanne S. Hess; two sons, Mark E. Hess of Summit, N.J., and Scott H. Hess of State College; two brothers, Robert E. Hess of Dunellon, Fla., and B. Anton Hess of Harrisburg, Pa.; two sisters, Elizabeth Uberseder of Litiz, Pa., and Esther Miller of Lebanon, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

ROWLAND -- Daniel James “D.J.” Watson Jr., 78, of 308 E. Jackson St. died Thursday in his home.
He retired from the Navy.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Byrd. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery.
Mr. Watson is survived by two sons, James Watson of Bridgeport, Conn., and Steven Watson of Rolette, Texas; four daughters, Betty C. Stanton of Charleston, S.C., Patricia C. Huck of Merritt Island, Fla., Brenda C. Hamilton of Dillon, S.C., and Deborah C. Auld of Greenville, S.C.; two sisters, Flora W. Jones of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mabel Robinson of Gastonia; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

HOPE MILLS -- Mrs. Rosetta Hicks Byrne, 86, of 3282-B Sommer Drive died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Sycamore Tree Senior Citizens of Hope Mills.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rogers & Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Carolyn C. Woriax. Burial will be in Marvin United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Byrne is survived by four daughters, Dorothy B. Sessoms of White Lake, Mary B. Smith and Mildred B. Bullard, both of Stedman, and Louise B. Wallace of Fayetteville; two sons, Walter R. “Jack” Byrne of Fayetteville and Robert H. “Bobby” Byrne of Gainesville, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Woods of Stedman; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boris is survived by three sons, Michael Boris and Robert Boris, both of New York, and Joseph Boris of Sanford; four daughters, Patricia Rogers, Mary Spivey and Debra Boris, all of Sanford, and Donna Panter of Colorado; a brother, Hubert Tyler of New York; a sister, Helen Hurd of New York; a stepsister, Anna Ellis of New York; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Vuncannon is survived by four daughters, Annette Byam, Bonnie Smith and Celia Collins, all of Sanford, and Belinda Hivnor of Virginia; two brothers, Ray Johnson of Sanford and Jesse Johnson of Broadway; three sisters, Kathleen Carver and Mary L. Ryerson, both of Roxboro, and Melba J. Matthews of Angier; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
