F. George Brown
F. George Brown, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the Outer Banks Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport, Ct., he was the husband of Sally Brown of the home.
He served in World War Ii in the U.S. Navy.
Active in Connecticut politics, he was an alderman for the City of Bridgeport, as well as later serving as the Connecticut State Tax Commissioners.
He work of many years for Edison Electric Institute, first in New York City and then in Washington, D.C.
Upon retirement, he relocated tot he Outer Banks and worked in real estate of 10 years.
Also surviving are a son, Doug Brown of Kill Devil Hills; three daughters, Debbie Brown of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Pam Robertson of Kill Devil Hills and Martha Thomas of Kitty Hawk; and five grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held Friday, Dec. 5, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Jerald Wayne Bundy
Jerald Wayne "Jerry" or "Jack" Bundy, 68, of Rodanthe, died Saturday, Dec. 6 at Chesapeake General Hospital.
Born in Elizabeth City, he was the son of the late Leland William and Earle Virginia Hall Bundy and the husband of Alice Midgett Bundy of the residence.
He Bundy was the retired owner of West Kempsville Mechanical, a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Norfolk, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Korean conflict.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Mourino of Rodanthe; two sons, Jerald Wayne Bundy, Jr. of Chesapeake, Va. and Jeffrey Bundy of North Carolina; four grandchildren; and several stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo by the Rev. Ronnie Midgett.
Burial will follow at the Manteo Cemetery.
Michael C. Burton
Michael C. Burton, 32, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003.
Michael was born on Dec. 9, 1973 in Richmond, Virginia and lived most of his life on the Outer Banks.
He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Kelly Burton of Nags Head, Deigh Hodges of New Castle VA and Vicki Eareckson of Grandy.
Michael is also survived by his sisters, Shannon Allen of Manteo, Meredith Burton, Charlotte Burton and Elizabeth Burton, all of Nags Head; his brother, Orry Gray of Nags Head; and his nephew, Colby Allen of Manteo.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Nags Head at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 and all friends and family are invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Andrew's By-The-Sea Trinity Scholarship Fund in memory of Michael Burton, P.O. Box 445, Nags Head, NC 27959.
Elizabeth Jean Charlton
Elizabeth Jean Charlton, 86, of Nags Head, died, Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Nags Head.
Born in Marquette, MI, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Fassbender Robertson and the widow of Fred R. Charlton.
She was a retired homemaker and a member of Saint Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church and the Dare County VIP Club.
She was a graduate of Graveret High School and Northern Michigan College.
Surviving are two daughters; Margaret Thompson of Jarvisburg and Susan Stein of Kill Devil Hills; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
A service of remembrance was set at Saint Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church, Friday, with the Rev. Charles E. B. Gill officiating.
Twiford's Colony Chapel Manteo is handling arrangements.
Albert Jerry Daniels
Albert Jerry Daniels, 67, of Manteo, died Nov. 19 in his residence.
Born in Manteo, he was the son of the late Albert Hayes and Florence Midgett Daniels and the husband of Marion Gaimel Daniels.
He was a retired chief mate with the Merchant Marines and a member of Manteo Masonic Lodge #521 AF&AM and Dare County Shrine Club.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cori Peters of Statesville, N.C., Jeri (Fuzzy) Hollis of Wanchese and Wendy Linzey of Florida; two sons, Harley Hayes and Lance Hayes, both of Wanchese; two sisters, Jeanine Tillett and Frances Coleman, both of Manteo; one brother, Luther Daniels, Sr., of Manteo; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held in Cudworth Cemetery on Nov. 22 with Dr. David Dalton officiating. Masonic rites were held at the grave.

Harry A. Fruit
Harry A. Fruit, Jr., 93, of Kitty Hawk, died in Nags Head Saturday, Oct. 11.
Previously a resident of Norfolk and the Kempsville Borough of Virginia Beach, Mr. Fruit was a retired senior vice president of Sovran Bank (now Bank of America).
He was the son of the late Harry A. and Nellie Webster Graves Fruit.
His wife, Frances Holladay Fruit, predeceased him in 1976.
He led a full life, much of it devoted to public service.
Mr. Fruit was a Boy Scout leader, and very active in the Methodist Church, being a founding member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Chesapeake and serving as lay leader and speaker for many years. He was a member of Doric Lodge #44 for over 50 years.
Mr. Fruit was a charter member and officer of the Southside Lions Club and later served as president of the Kempsville Lions Club, completing a term as deputy district governor in 1968-69.
He was the recipient of the Kempsville Club's "Lion of the Year" Award in 1976-77.
After his retirement from banking he was appointed by the Virginia Beach City Council to serve as commissioner for mosquito control, a volunteer position he held for over six years.
Since moving to Kitty Hawk, he had been a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and occasionally carving a duck from a piece of tupelo wood.
He will be missed by his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Fruit is survived by his son, Bill Fruit, with whom he lived and his wife, Gee, and their three children, Jean Fruit Moyer, Grace Elizabeth Fruit and William Shepherd Fruit, Jr; son John Curtis Fruit of Virginia Beach and his wife, Sandra and their son, John Curtis Fruit, Jr. and daughter, Anne Durham; daughter Nell Fruit Malat of Nags Head and her husband, Joseph, and their children, Asheley Moore Emmett and Andrew Moore.
He is also survived by great-grandsons, William Smith and Benjamin Durham, and great-granddaughters, Jessica Durham and Blaize Moore.
A graveside service was held at Old St. Luke's Cemetery in Smithfield, VA on Oct. 13.
