W.C. Shelton
W.C. Shelton, 86, a resident of Moriarty, N.M. passed away Aug. 23, 1998 in an Albuquerque hospital.
Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife Lola Ruth Shelton. He is survived by two sons, Buddy Shelton and his wife Marilyn of Dallas, Texas and Terry Shelton and his wife Bobbi of Cedar Crest; two grandchildren, Shelli and Aaron Shelton, and nine grand-dogs. W.C. and his dog Chico went dancing with the ancestors; they will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Viewing will be at 7 p.m. Thursday evening, Aug. 27, 1998 at Calvary Chapel in McIntosh. Services will be held Friday morning, Aug. 28, 1998 at 10 a.m., also at Calvary Chapel, with Pastors David Wester and Jack Seileman officiating. Interment will take place in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998 at 10 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, N.M.

Gerri Whitmore
Longtime Edgewood resident Geraldene (Gerri) Whitmore, age 62, passed away Monday, June 13, in Albuquerque after a lingering illness.
Gerri was born Jan. 28, 1941 in Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania to Elmo John Whitmore and Helen Rose Hartwick. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bonnie. Survivors include sisters Jackie Clotfelter and family of Snow, Oklahoma, and Candy Schneider of Oregon, brother E.J. Whitmore of Rio Rancho, aunt Ruth Sheridan, uncle Victor Whitmore and wife Bernice Whitmore of Albuquerque, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
Until emphysema progressed making it necessary to move to a nursing facility in Albuquerque, Gerri lived at the Red Arrow Campground in Edgewood.

Melissa Bradley
Melissa Dawn Bradley, 21, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away June 22, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Cody Bradley; her children, Christina and Christopher Bradley; parents, Sue and Dave Fisher of Edgewood; brothers, Matt, Ryan and David Fisher; her in-laws, Omar and Doris Bradley; brother-in-law, Joseph Strong; sister-in-law, Erica Bradley; and numerous other family members and friends. Melissa loved many things and was loved by all who knew her. She is loved and will be missed. Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 2003, 10 a.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, with her uncle, Bruce Stefanik officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

AUGUST JANTZ
August Jantz, 90, of Estancia passed away March 13 in Albuquerque.
August was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Durum, Kan., to Peter and Amelia (Lowe) Jantz. He married Mattie Pauline Beck on June 1, 1949, in Mountainair. August was the last surviving child out of 19 children born to Peter and Amelia Jantz. He was a World War II veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army.
August is survived by his wife, Mattie Jantz; sons, Larry Wayne Jantz and wife, Carla, of Denver, Colo., Tommy Gene Jantz and wife, Joyce, of Clayton, Samuel Joe Jantz of Albuquerque, and Robert Dee Jantz and wife, Susan, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Amelia Jantz; a son, Richard Lee Jantz; and his brothers and sisters.
A graveside memorial service was held March 18 at the McIntosh Cemetery with Earl Jantz officiating.
The family is requesting a donation to the Pippin Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 5037, Clovis, NM 88102.

MARIA FERNANDA GONZALES
Maria Fernanda Gonzales, beloved daughter of Martin and Yolanda (Montano) Gonzales of Mountainair, passed away March 16 in Mountainair.
Maria was born July 7, 2003, in Albuquerque. She is survived by her parents, Martin and Yolanda Gonzales; grandparents, Joseph and Maria Luna; great-grandparents, Melecio Montano, Margarita Luna and Carolina Salsido; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Rosary was recited Friday at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair. A Communion Service was held Saturday at St. Alice with Deacon Charles Schwenn officiating. Interment followed at the Mountainair Cemetery.

FRANCES LEORA FRANCE
Frances Leora France, 67, of Moriarty passed away Saturday in Albuquerque.
Frances was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on Sept. 16, 1937, to Franklin and Ora (Edwards) Hamblin. She moved to New Mexico 10 years ago, coming from Grass Valley, Calif.
Frances is survived by her son, Jamie Woodhouse and wife, Gina, of Moriarty; daughters, Karen Leeman and husband, Duncan, of San Jose, Calif., and Suzanne Klenc and husband, Dan, of Okinawa, Japan; brother, Sherman Crookshank and wife, Rica; sisters, Gladys Clark, Luella Griggs and husband, Jim, Darlene Perotti and husband, Vince, and Ethel Van Tassel; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Frances will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service was held Monday at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty with Pastor Bobby Looper officiating. Burial services will be held at a later date in California.

TRANQUELINO JOSE ARCHULETA
Tranquelino Jose Archuleta, 85, of Mountainair passed away June 16, 2006 in Mountainair with his loving family beside him.
Tranquelino was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Mountainair to Manuel and Altagracia (Romero) Archuleta. Tranquelino worked for the Forest Service as a ranger. He married Estella Zamora in Willard on Nov. 9, 1945.
He is survived by his sons, Markie and wife Pam Archuleta of Mountainair, Juan and wife Michelle Archuleta of Mountainair, LeRoy and wife Sandy Archuleta of Port Angeles, Wash., and Sam and wife Viola Archuleta of Mountainair; daughter, Dubi and husband Norman Lindsey of Mountainair; brothers, Filomeno Archuleta, Filberto and wife Theresa Archuleta; sister, Flora Chavez; 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Archuleta, and his parents, Manuel and Altagracia Archuleta.
Funeral services were held Monday at the First Assembly of God in Mountainair with Pastor Ed Rimer officiating. Internment followed at the Mountainair Cemetery.

FREDERICK D. BROWN
Frederick "Fred" D. Brown, 84, a resident of Cedar Crest for 43 years, died June 17, 2006.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrtle Brown; children, Connie B. Sciacca and husband Carl of Trinidad, Colo., Frederick Arthur Brown II and wife Ina of Harper, Texas; grandchildren, Wade Aubuchon and fiancee Melinda Broderick of Albuquerque, Daryl Aubuchon and wife Louise of Trinidad; four great-grandchildren, Kyra, Kolton, Grant and Meg; and many friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Arthur and Frances I. Brown; stepmother, Ada Brown; and sister, Joan Brown.
He was born in Manchester, England, on Dec. 12, 1921. Fred moved with his father to Vancouver, B.C., when he was 3 years old and they later moved to Jemez where his father worked in the gold mines when Fred was in grade school. Later they moved to Los Lunas until he graduated from Los Lunas High School. Fred proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a staff sergeant. After getting out of the service he married Myrtle Kimsey in Belen on Feb. 10, 1946. They moved to Albuquerque, where he worked for Pete's Safety Lane before going to work at Sandia National Labs, from which he retired after 35 years. Fred and Myrtle were charter members of the Mountainside Methodist Church in Cedar Crest. He also was instrumental in starting the Sandia Mountain Wildlife Association. Fred also volunteered for the Boy Scouts, the 4-H, the Sandia Park Volunteer Fire Department and the Forest Service. He also was a coach for the Little League in Albuquerque and helped to build the Strandale Park. His hobbies included photography, bird watching and woodworking. Fred was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As per his request, no services are being held. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
