John H. Hanretty
FRANKFORT — Mr. John H. Hanretty, 76, of 204 Mann St., Frankfort, passed away on Friday morning, May 30, 2003, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford.
He was born on October 15, 1926, in Frankfort, the son of the late John H. and Hannah (Mahoney) Hanretty Sr. He was educated in Utica schools. John was a lifelong resident of our area.
John had worked for many years as a linen room attendant with Masonic Home in Utica.
John is survived by his loving and caring caregiver, Miss Diane L. Lazore of Frankfort; his twin brother, Bernard Hanretty and wife Aurie of New Hartford; a brother, Francis Hanretty of Forestport; three sisters, Ellen  White and husband Floyd of New Hartford, Anne O'Connor and husband Francis T. of Ilion and Elizabeth Senter and husband Carl of Albany; a sister-in-law, Rose Mary Hanretty of Utica; a special friend, Evelyn Heinig of Frankfort; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, James and William Hanretty.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 2, at 12:15 p.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion, and at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostle Church, Frankfort Street, Frankfort, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, pastor. Interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Calling hours at the funeral home are on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m.
The family extends their gratitude to St. Luke's Healthcare especially mentioning the first floor nursing staff and doctors Daniel Uwah and Matthew Ulahannan for the compassion offered.

Bernard E. 'Bernie' Miller
LITTLE FALLS — Mr. Bernard E. "Bernie" Miller, age 88, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2003, in Little Falls Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born on August 11, 1914, in Little Falls, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Reardon) Miller. He attended Little Falls public schools and St. Mary's Academy. Bernie proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific Theater. He enlisted on January 20, 1942, and was honorably discharged on September 21, 1945, holding the rank of corporal. His last employment was with the Little Falls Police Department where he served the residents in the city of Little Falls. Bernie was a life member of the Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula Post No. 4612 and a life member of the Little Falls Elks Lodge No. 42.
He leaves two brothers, John S. Miller of Little Falls and Charles J. Miller of Schenectady; a sister, Dorothy Malone of Little Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Three brothers preceded Bernie in death, Frank, Bob and James Miller, as well as three sisters, Eileen Miller, Elizabeth Miller and Mary Bowman.
The family will be present in the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, to receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning, May 31, from 9-11 a.m. Bernie's funeral will commence at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning from the chapel of the funeral home where full military honors will be accorded. In respecting Mr. Miller's wishes, cremation will follow under the direction of the Enea Funeral Home. The Little Falls Police Department will form an honor guard at the funeral home on Saturday morning.

Douglas H. 'Doug' Graudons
LITTLE FALLS — Douglas H. "Doug" Graudons, age 27, of 147 Koziol Rd., Mohawk, passed away on July 20, 2003, unexpectedly in the town of St. Johnsville.
Doug was born on August 5, 1975, in Little Falls, a son of Henry "Hank" and Claudia (Johnson) Graudons. He graduated with Little Falls High School, class of 1993. He owned and operated Doug's Repair Garage in Mohawk and at one time was employed by Charlie Stahl's Sales and Service.
Doug's main gift was his wonderful mechanic skills and even was known by his family and friends as a jack of all trades. He spent countless hours working on vehicles in his garage. He enjoyed the outdoors and what it had to offer. Doug touched, energized and influenced the dreams, hopes, hearts and lives of countless numbers of people. He proved to his son Doug Jr. to be a trusting parent, one who was interested and involved in his son's life. A natural people person, he had a winning personality, one that was enlivened by his special sense of humor. He had an innate and unique ability to interact with others and was a tremendous role model to all of his family and friends.
He leaves his loving parents, Henry and Claudia Graudons of Mohawk; his beloved son, Douglas H. Graudons Jr. and Doug Jr.'s mother Trina, of Little Falls; a special brother, Brian Graudons of Little Falls; two cherished sisters, Beth Graudons of Ilion and Laura Graudons of Little Falls; aunts and uncles, Robert  Johnson and friend Candi, Judy Clemons and husband Bill, Linda Hoose and husband Roscoe, Susan  Johnson and friend David, David Johnson, Helen Kennedy and husband Eric, Terry Graudons and wife Cora and Barb Graudons and Carol Graudons; nieces and nephews, Emily Arabia, Karli Vasquez, Jordan Graudons and Andrew Welden; and many cousins and several dear friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Adeline Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Henry and Audrey Graudons; and a niece and nephew, Cheltsey and Dillon Ropeter.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Wednesday, July 23, from 5-8 p.m.
There will be an hour of visitation on Thursday, July 24, from 10-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Albany Street, Little Falls. Doug's funeral will commence on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Donald Dixon, pastor, officiating, and the Rev. David Krehbiel co-officiating. Timothy J. Cornman
ST. JOHNSVILLE — Timothy J. Cornman, 41, of 1533 Lassellsville Rd., St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
He was born April 23, 1962, in Little Falls. Tim was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1980, and lived most of his life in the St. Johnsville area.
His marriage to Susan Leavitt took place on July 15, 1995, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville.
Tim was last employed at the former Hanifin's Auto in Nelliston.
Mr. Cornman was of the Protestant faith.
He was a past member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department and was a collector of New York State Police and fire memorabilia.
An avid outdoorsman, Tim enjoyed all activities that involved the outdoors, especially fishing and traveling. Tim had a special place in his heart for all animals, including his canine companion, Kayiuh, and his feline companion, Onyx.
Survivors include his mother, Gwen Andrewski of St. Johnsville; his wife, Susan; a brother, Stephen Backus of St. Johnsville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at 8 p.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 23 from 6, p.m. until the time of the services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

John N. Rickard Sr.
COLD BROOK — John N. Rickard Sr., 75, of Main Street, died on July 21, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, following a long illness. Mr. Rickard was born in Poland on January 27, 1928, a son of the late Howard F. and Gladys (Nellis) Rickard. He received his education in Poland schools and was formerly married to Joan Newman. John had worked at both the former Jamestown Veneer Mill in Poland and Bordens Company in Newport. Survivors include five daughters, Carole Danforth of St. Johnsville, Diane Boepple of Newport, Joan "Susie" Kane and her husband, Ronnie, of Little Falls, Michelle Poff and her husband, Jack, of DeLeon Springs, Fla., and Ida Barnes and her husband, Leo, of Salisbury; three sons, John Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Cold Brook and Randall and his wife, Sue, and Daniel and his wife, April, all of Salisbury; three brothers, Francis and his wife, Natalie, of Prospect, Ward and his wife, Helen, of the town of Ohio and Glenn and his wife, Susan, of N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William H. Stubba, pastor of the Cold Brook United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ohio Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Foundation for the Dialysis Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Linford G. (Butch) Homrighaus
DOLGEVILLE — Linford G. (Butch) Homrighaus, 53, of Dolgeville and Edgewater, Florida, died Thursday night, July 17, in a motorcycle accident. Butch was born April 27, 1950, in Little Falls, the son of Linford and Martha Homrighaus. Butch was single and enjoyed working as a supervisor at Jerseyfield Preserve, and spending winters in Florida. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying motorcycling, bicycling, four-wheeling, jet skiing. canoeing, fishing, hiking, flying, photography, cooking, gardening,and much more. He happily touched the lives of many, many friends and family and will be missed by all of them.
Surviving are his sister, Beverly; and brother-in-law, John Pitera, The Woodlands  Texas; two nephews, John Pitera Jr., The Woodlands,  Texas, and Peter Pitera, Houston,  Texas. An interment service will be held Sunday, July 27, at 3 p.m. at the Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery, Emmondsburg Road, Salisbury with Reverend Timothy Hume Behrendt, pastor of the Universalist Church of Salisbury, officiating.
