Frances Davis Randall
Died: Monday, August 15, 2011
Frances Davis Randall, formerly of Stony Brook, died Monday, Aug. 15, at Otsego Manor in Cooperstown. She was 90.
Born July 1, 1921, in Bridgeport, Conn., Frances was a daughter of Stephen Augustus Fallon and Eslie Emily (née Davis) Fallon. She was raised on Long Island in Setauket.
On June 6, 1942, she married
Joseph Austin Randall in the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn. He died in 1971.
For many years Frances was employed as a secretary at Stony Brook University.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Nancy Kelly of Cooperstown and Suzanne O'Pray of Midland Park, N.J.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth O'Pray and Catherine O'Pray; her stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Dolan and Brian J. Murphy; and her sister, Virginia Haigh of West Chester, Pa. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laurel Hayes Murphy, who died Aug. 5, 2004.
The Office of the Burial of the Dead will be offered at 2 pm on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Caroline Church of Brookhaven (Episcopal), 1 Dyke Road, Setauket, by the Rev. Richard D. Visconti, rector.
The Episcopal Service of Committal and Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial gifts may be made to Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
Arrangements are under the guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
Natalie Werner

Natalie Werner of Lake Grove died on August 14. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin; loving mother of Barbara (Charles) Libert and Jim (Ann) Ryden; cherished grandmother of Jason, Yvette, James, Maria and Joseph; adored great-grandmother of Nicholas, Victoria, Kylie, Kara, Frankie, Matthew, Emily Ann and Eva; and dear sister of James Flagg and the late Marion Connor.
A funeral was celebrated at United Methodist Church of Lake Ronkonkoma, Lake Grove..
Private cremation followed.

Patrick Luca
Died: Saturday, August 13, 2011
Patrick Luca, age 41, of Smithtown, died suddenly and tragically on Aug. 13. He was a NYC police officer at NYPD Headquarters, Manhattan.
Mr. Luca was the cherished husband of Stephanie; loving father of Caden and Brea; beloved son of Santa; beloved son-in-law of Geraldine and Kenneth Aiello; dear brother-in-law of Christine, Francine and Joseph; beloved uncle of Emma and Nina.
A funeral Mass was held Aug. 17 at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, East Main Street, Smithtown. A college fund has been set up for his children in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Maher Family of the St. James Funeral Home, in St. James.
Della Marie Schoenstein (née Curto)

Della Schoenstein was laid to rest on Aug. 12 at 78 years of age. She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Schoenstein of Port Jefferson; the cherished mother of Nancy Widmann of Texas, Lynn Meyer of Fort Salonga, Susan Cohen of Jackson, N.J., and Janet Buchbinder of Fairport, and their husbands Buddy Widmann, Ron Buchbinder and Kurt Meyer. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Cohen; also by her parents, Frank and Lillian Curto; her brother, Joseph Curto; and her sisters, Frances Anzaldi and Grace Marino. She was the loving grandmother of Scott, Brian, Monica, Allison, Stephanie, Kyle, Jared, Matthew, Natalie and Camryn.
Della was born
in Central Islip into a very large and loving family that included her siblings and cherished cousins. She attended Central Islip High School and worked as a secretary at Central Islip State Hospital. She also worked in the family-owned restaurant business prior to her marriage to Joseph.
Della and Joe moved to Port Jefferson and spent 53 years together raising their daughters, traveling and working locally. Della was an employee of Mather Memorial Hospital for many years before retiring. On Nov. 10, 2007, Della and Joe celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their many friends and family members and also traveled to Disney World with their daughters and their families. Della will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend as well as for her generosity, sense of humor, kindness and devotion to her family.
Services were held at Infant Jesus R.C. Church on Aug. 16. Interment followed at the St. John of God Cemetery, Central Islip.

McKim Dangerfield

McKim Dangerfield
A man who always had a twinkle in his eye as he laughed merrily at his own jokes, McKim Dangerfield, 96, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12 at the home of his longtime friend and companion, Forrest Bonshire, in Setauket.
McKim was born
on June 2, 1915, in Baltimore, Md., to Mary McKim Wilde and Reverdy Johnson Dangerfield. After graduating from Princeton, he followed his father to Wall Street.
During World War II he was a navigator for the Air Transport Command. After a plane crash, he survived for 32 days in the frozen tundra of Newfoundland before rescue arrived. This experience was recounted in the 1953 movie "Island in the Sky," starring John Wayne.
In 1956 McKim moved to Head of the Harbor in St. James and lived in what is known as the oldest home in the village. He delighted in spending much of his time at the Nissequogue Point Beach Club and volunteered on the village's Roadside Committee and Architectural Review Board.
As an associate broker with Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate for the last 20 years, McKim received many accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, reflecting his dedication and passion for the industry. He rarely missed an open house and delighted in sharing his extensive knowledge of the history of individual houses and the surrounding area.
Most of his later days were spent at antique shows, auctions and art shows. He enjoyed an evening cocktail and invariably completed the daily crossword puzzle.
On his family tree can be found such names as Cabot, Vanderbilt, Pulitzer and Doubleday in addition to Charles Follen McKim of the firm of McKim, Mead and White, architects.
He was predeceased by his brother, Reverdy Johnson Dangerfield, and by his beloved dog, Teddy. He is survived by his cousin, Sally Staples, and her children, Sandy and Richard Staples, of Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ASPCA would be appreciated.
A memorial service is being planned for Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 pm, at the Neighborhood House in Setauket.
Frances Henselder
Died: Thursday, August 11, 2011
Frances Henselder, 93 years old, a longtime community resident, died Aug. 11. She was born
in Queens, the daughter of Manuel and Johanna Perry.
She was a retired rehab aide for St. Charles Hospital.
Mrs. Henselder is survived by her daughter, Susan Butler; her sons, Joe, Teddy and Charles Henselder; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 15. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
Contributions made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 245 Old Country Road, Melville, NY 11747 would be appreciated.

Martin A. Campbell
Died: Sunday, October 23, 2011
Martin A. Campbell, 46, of Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 23. Born in Ireland, he was the son of Walter and the late Mary T. (Beadle) Campbell.
He was a chef, employed in New York City.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his father; Walter Campbell of Ridge.
A private cremation was arranged by family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.
Susan Mazella
Died: Friday, October 21, 2011
Susan Mazella, age 47, of Smithtown, died on Sept. 21.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Marie Mazella; loving sister of Catherine Mazella, James (Madeleine) Mazella and Robert (Patricia) Mazella; and cherished niece of Carol Waxon.
A religious service was celebrated at the funeral home. Interment followed at Washington Memorial Park.

Leonard LoCricchio

Leonard LoCricchio, of Ridge, died Oct. 7 at the age of 85. He was born
Oct. 20, 1925, in the Bronx.
Mr. LoCricchio is survived by his beloved Kathryn. He was the beloved husband of the late Louise; loving father of Mary Clark and her husband Donald, Theresa Devlin and her husband Joseph, Laura LaBarbera and her husband, Frank, and Donald Van Tassle and his wife, Olga; cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of six.
A funeral Mass was held Oct. 10 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Rocky Point. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Evelyn Hunt of Shoreham died on Oct. 20. She was born
Jan. 3, 1921, in Brooklyn.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas R. Hunt; loving mother of Gary Hunt and Carolyn Boucher and her husband, Thomas; cherished grandmother of Thomas P. and his wife, Kimberly; and David M.; adored great-grandmother of Alexa and Thomas.
A funeral Mass was held Oct. 24 at St. Mark RC Church, Shoreham. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
